this is a very touching episode mainly because duncan's oldtime lover is ill and still recognized him after all those years, and stuck between a rock and a hard place duncan refuses to decapitate his emotionally disturbed immortal friend gregoire.
wow seen this show many times and just realized have the sword that Gregor uses lol goes to show that watching somthing over again you always see somthing new
I have a question,in the first show,The Gathering,Duncan felt Richie"s power, even though he was still mortal, thats why Duncan took him under his wing. Did Greg also know about Richie,it never showed that Greg felt Richie's immortality.
@buckshot339 I believe he felt the power of the other two immortals: Slan and Connor. It was just a coincidence that Richie was playing around with the sword (which is probably why mistook him as an immortal).
i just wonder why didnt duncan change his name over the centuries when other immortals did and if richie fell off the bike or didnt make the jump he could have swam to shore why is it in american tv people can never swim
if a potintial immortal lived to be 100 years old, would they spend eternity like that or would they revert back to thier prime? and if one was 2 when it happened what then?
@jeb2368 We've seen this demonstrated. There are plenty of older imortals with grey hair and such, though likely not so old that they have arthritus or something. Likewise, we see child imortals but it is well known why they are killed quickly.
I imagine that the older immortals that we've seen on this show are spared the symptoms of arthritis (and other age related conditions) due to their healing factor.
I though that a potential immortal who hasn't suffered a violent death (which is the only way to trigger immortality) would live an ordinary human life, 85 years or so, and then die of old age, like a human.
@jeb2368 Well considering what happened to Kenny, the child Immortal, he would be the same age he was when he died first time, be that 1 or 100. For someone older, would think the same applies.
@Jakathera :: That has been one of my pet peeves since accidentally finding the show during the first season.
The long trench-style coats, sure; I can let that go. Chalk that up to 'creative license'. My problem has always been with the waist length leather coats et al like Gregor's, and POOF! a sword suddenly appears.
Besides length, those suckers can be fairly heavy to just casually tote around. Then there's the razor-sharp blade swingin' & swayin' never seeming to damage clothing or flesh.
I wonder if that was shown on purpose? First, to establish believability & credibility that someone living so long might somehow come to possess a sword of such age & historical importance. Second, just to see how many viewers actually notice that detail?
I still don't know how you managed to catch it - hats off to ya'!
So true! My apologies ytmeltman! Wanna tell us how you caught that detail?
And eggiex1 -- how did you figure out "Tizona"? I believe I posted "Nizona" because that's what it looked like to me. You watched the scene and could see a "T"?
Again, thanks to you both for the details - I love details like this that usually go unnoticed.
It looked like Nzona to me too, but that didn't make sense. I print-screened the image and zoomed in with paint. Couldn't make out the details too well, so I tried a few things out when looking for it.
Tizona is the only thing that makes sense. It's the name of a famous sword from a Spaniard, and in wikipedia, it even mentions the inscription in the sword, although according to wiki, the original inscription is written in old-style spanish, not modern-day spanish like it is here.
Being older, I don't have as good a handle on technology - I'd like to remember using "paint" for seeing details; I think I have that on my computer?
Old vs. modern Spanish makes sense; I wondered about the difference in the inscriptions. Two posts ago, I wanted to add "l am 'like' Tizona" as a possibility, but hit the 500 limit. Point being, the scabbards of the sword encased in the Wiki pic and the TV sword are very similar. Another detail I love...

When Duncan was holding Greg's sword, what was written on it? "Yo soy... something else"
ytmeltman 2 years ago
@ytmeltman :: Sharp eyes!!! How the heck did you notice that???
Anyway, at 42:58, it looks like: "Yo Soy La Nzona"?
Can anyone else help? I love details like this!
Latin, Italian, or Spanish...
volleydrummer 2 years ago
It's Spanish.
"Yo soy la Tizona" translates to
"I am the Sword" and according to the dictionary site I used, Tizona means:
Name of El Cids famous sword. (Colloquial) (f)
So "I am El Cids famous sword" I guess...
eggiex1 2 years ago
Look for El Cid in Wikipedia also. It references Tizona, the sword.

Thank You, Thank You for the info!
Also, maybe, "I am the sword of El Cid"?
