Hey I got my new dx3s tx and sr3001 pro receiver and plugged it in. Started it up and it just keeps going into fail safe mode. Got the savox sc1258tg steering and hobao h-102 metal gear on throttle. Fresh batteries in tx and rx. Any clue? I read something about a voltage capacitor? Know anything? I can't drive my hyper 9 at all :) and it's pretty new
@rabss15 get a spektrum high voltage capacitor, that will fix your problem. Also, make sure batteries are 100% charged, and get hold of a 5cell hump/stick pack if you havent already, they are much better than a 4 cell (AA Pack) let me know how it goes :)
@rabss15 Yeah the savox's use two bearings. though I thought ho bao's did too but maybe not. Think it's just a different in the gearing, materials and motor tightness
After some advice. I recently swapped out my hobao h-102 metal gear steering servo on my hyper 9 for a savox sc-1258tg servo. From my knowledge the hobao servo is 9kg and this savox servo is 12kg. Im just curious because my hobao servo was alot stiffer and felt stronger when turning the wheels by hand with transmitter and receiver off. Is it normal for the savox 1258 to be really easy to move the wheels. Even pushing the buggy along the carpet will turn the wheels. Is this due to I read somethi
@rabss15 Yeah buddy, the ho bao's are pretty hard to turn. the savox's are silky smooth. They are really easy to turn :) nothing wrong with them. Just higher quality gears and special lubricant smoothing them out.
Yeah, I really love my Savox Servos, I have the same set up on my Losi. Very smooth, VERY quick and torquey. They are expensive but they are some of the best out there ;) I recommend these too
May I ask, why is "high torque" necessary for turning? Does it help you make sharper turns in the corners? Also, what is meant by coreless? Is this the same concept as "brushless"?
@scott231us Well, if you dont run high torque, then your servo will not be able to turn under a large amount of load when turning. Which will burn out the servo very quickly. I always recommend high torque servo's as you can't beat strong steering. It allows you to be able to go around corners faster yes :) Brushless / coreless are just two completely different motors, they work in different ways :) some say brushless last longer and stay cooler, i have never had an issue with my coreless :)
@MRAlrounder This servo is truly the best i have ever had! it performs amazing and heared only good things about the savox servos on a whole. Great choice, you will not be let down!
@justinRkeaton I suppose it is in comparison with the higher end 'Hitec' servo's. But the savox ones lack no quality, not to mention they look awesome :)
@RCRacing88 i think same things as like you i will definitely get one but i am not sure which one is will be good on my car. actually i guess i need high torque not high speed. :)
@guven016 :) they are a bit pricey but well worth it! and they will last :D Its more of a golden/orange which is nice :) hope you enjoy your servos :D
@guven016 Yes :D so long as its the slash 1/10th :) servo's are pretty universal unless you either go mini, micro or large scale :) but savox is 1/10th / 1/8th :):)
Ok so first off I swapped the AA duracells for a 6.6v life reedy pack and problem solved. Everything's so much more responsive too. Cheers mate.

does that servo provide enough braking power??..thanks

@neversay09 More than enough power :) The best servo's i have ever bought... well reccomended

thats very cheap for a fast servo with high torque, nice servos
