  • How many KM per tank? lol

  • I don't think I care about the details of this engine. It is ridiculous. And epic. And awesome.

  • This car was not built in 1908, it was built in 2010 by the Sinsheim Museum in Germany ; it has a WW1 aircraft engine in an 1920's American LeFrance chassis ( the same American LeFrance that builds fire trucks here in USA since the 1890's

  • @blazzer5 They do but which idiot would compare an Aero engine to a small modern car engine. Car engines are unreliable and useless for Heavy Duty, this one has 2317ft-lbs at 1700rpm. Torque at <2krpm is what you need for Heavy Duty runs, look at Semi Engines, you wouldn't move as great a Loaded Semi even with a 1000HP V8,it's higher revving and has less torque,as much as you wouldn't use a 15Liter 500hp/2050FtLbs Cat for Car Racing

  • 750HP at 1700rpm with a Naturally Aspirated Gas engine is something unbeatable with small car engines, but what really matters about this is Torque, which is 2317 Ft-Lbs on this engine! This even beats the Torque of the Semi Trucks' DIESEL engines although they are way better than this, and a Modern Diesel engine at 45-50Lt Displacement beats it.

  • This was shown on Clarkson's Powered Up

  • cocks

  • how's the gas mileage?

  • it only has 493 hp

  • and its from Germany !!!!! :D

  • @TupacX2Pak the engine from this thing probably weighs as much as a Prius

  • oooohhh, thats where the gas went

  • why brutus??? .... chacha .. just joking :D

  • chitty chitty bang bang

  • howw did they only get 750 bhp from a 46l engine? thats a genuine question btw xD

  • @CherryXplorer Really low compression and small (relatively) valves. It wasn't designed for power even in those days. It was designed to make that power with as little stress as possible so it was as reliable as possible. That was important for the aircraft the engine was made for as it kept maintenance low so service time high. It's also really bad to break down in the middle of a dog fight/bombing run. :o)

  • @hunghuge12 oh right xD cheers

  • @hunghuge12 not to mention so it would last a long time with little mtinance.

  • So that thing really builded in 1908 ?

  • @trbossdoggy Only the chassis is from 1908, the engine is from 1926. Look on Wikipedia for "BMW VI" engine.

  • is that a chick drivin?

  • i want to see that on a dyno.

  • @flybikes90 The dyno would be crushed under the weight of that engine. :P

  • i'm just waiting for Popeye to dislike this!

  • Show up at Sturgis with this and be crowned King of all Harleydom.

  • Wrrrm wrrrm... WRRRRM WRRRR

-Welceome to McDonalds. Do you want to order?

    I'd do it.

  • Is that monsterous beast stock?

  • @UnitedCommunists no, it has 153 turbo's

  • @Niercaaa

    More like 153 horsepower.

  • Euro5 emission engine. :D

  • Flames, smoke, that growl, chain drive and the valves dancing down the side...I don't know what's not to love. AMAZING!

  • thats not 18 niles per gallons, its 18 gallons per mile.

  • want some car with that engine

  • 0.18 mpg. them where the good says

  • @ nzweers its a 47L engine :D

  • WOW A chain driven monster, THAT IS SO COOL!!!!

  • that thing is gonna sell for more than the most expensive bugatti

  • @juliusURVAN

No, Mustangs still use a solid rear axle. It is my understanding that the 2013 (MY 2014?) "World Car" Mustang will have independent suspension front and back.

  • That sure as hell didn't look like 750 HP to me, more like 180-190 tops. but HP isn't important that car is rolling art, I LOVE it!

  • @Pinups2Showboats

So just by the LOOKS you can tell it's not 750hp??

Congratulations on proudly proclaiming yourself to be an ignorant fool with the mindset of a 14 year old.

"I didn't look like..." Jesus fucking Christ.

  • @McLarenMercedes Uhmmm, ...YEAH! ....have you ever seen a 750hp vehicle launch? I've built and raced cars both on drag strips and round tracks for decades. And....YES I have a pretty good idea of what kind of hp a vehicle is making just by watching it launch. You clearly have mental issues, I said I loved the car! Why are you so angry? As for childish...using that kind of language in a public setting just because you disagree with somebody seems pretty childish to me.

  • @Pinups2Showboats just imagine how much this car must weigh with a steel block and head, it's 46L not 4.6, the engine its must weigh a couple tons. with all that weight it's not going to launch like anything you've ever seen.

  • @stumpy990 Yes, I get what you're saying and have considered weight, but I still don't see a 750hp kind of launch. If I hadn't considered the weight, I'd have guessed even lower hp. Never the less. with this car I could care less about the hp. This car is pure art! Beautiful with tons of character.

  • @Pinups2Showboats my friend, just look at the car again... 46L-engine... lowest revs: 1200, red line: 1500 revs... wheels like a bicycle, driven by a chain... 750HP is the least you get from these engines for this is muscle at its finest. but if speed is what you want, then it wont even competite with a prius. ;)

  • @bagger2222 Muscle of an old man is closer to what I would call this. It is just an exaggeration of power with a skeleton and flesh of an elephant. I am sure I wouldn't like this car (?) to drive towards me ever, as I am also sure that should it ever happen I would be able to dodge it even while riding a unicycle..!

  • @Pinups2Showboats Its a really long stroke aircraft engine from the 1930s. You cant expect it to have the throttle response of a car engine from today. It takes time for the engine to pick up revs.

Also the car is chaindriven, the chain would snap if you even attempted to be a bit harsh with it.

  • that thing will kill some Hondas any time...

  • Don't know about elegance, but that sure is a badass car. I wonder what percentile of those enormous forces the thing actually manages to use. It will propably never run with full power simply because there isn't anyone crazy enough to do so.

  • It hits 100km/h at 800rpm. What a machine.

  • @juliusURVAN and blazzer5: Your mentioned engines are 80 years old and have 10.000Nm torque at 1.500rpm? If so, I would be impressed.... alittle bit... ;)

  • @Moorhuhn74 But julius ist right - 10000 NM

  • @Moorhuhn74 @vamp2080 While this engine is very impressive for it's age, lets be realistic, a prius would win in any sort of race.

  • @TupacX2Pak You think a prius would be faster than this thing with 750HP? Unless the race involved going farther than 1 tank of gas, I doubt it

  • LOL 46L. they have 750hp mustangs with a 4.6 L!

  • 2.0L engine can push 750hp and more!

  • @blazzer5 haha yea, there are drag spec 4 cylinders pushin 1000hp, and 8s pushin 8000hp!

  • @juliusURVAN You wouldn't want one of those if you were flying above the battlefield. Imagine throwing a rod there.

  • @blazzer5

Ah yes but i can geuss a 1908 engine, it would have had a sidevalve motor with if you're lucky 3-1 compression. a redline of 1500rpm roughly and a very long stroke. yea you can get 700 odd hp from a 2l 4 banger, but it will last 5 minutes. that engine will last forever.

  • @vamp2080 They easily got 1,500HP out of the 86 Brabham F1 car with a 1.5L Inline 4 Turbo, with a road car M10 block.

  • @bob333336 you're talking about an engine from a different era. The engine in the Brutus had to survive the wars they went to when placed inside planes. The F1 engines only had to last the race.

  • @orangmiri I know that. Look at the comment I'm responding to, you're reading it out of context.

  • @orangmiri There's one more thing: fuel had an incredibly low octane rating so those engines had to have very low compression to stop the air-fuel mixture from igniting before the spark got there. Lubricants were also poor, the main lubricant in that era was castor oil. Steel wasn't as hard as it is today. Broken castings were common, so everything was made extra thick. Heavy parts don't rotate so fast. Alfa Romeo did a 4c 16v DOHC hemi engine years later. Progress was fast at that time.

  • @vamp2080 It´ll also take out the entire oil supply xD

  • @vamp2080 Not a side-valve. Go to one of the other Brutus vids and zoom. Engine has exposed rocker arms and valve springs like a great many overhead valve engines of that day.

  • @vamp2080 not forever... till the planet run out of oil :p i totally agree with you + engine size = torque!!

  • @vamp2080 @juliusURVAN todays 2.0l cars can push 750hp and will last for one WHOLE race and they are little bit more interesting than this one. I was impressed of the brutus but today who doesn't like all those sounds screaming at 10000rpms xD

  • @blazzer5 I'd listen to this all day, a little screamer engine is ok, but in person nothing can beat one of these things.

  • @vamp2080 I admire this vehicle but sound of a turbo at 10000rpms is more attracting to me.btw, i am motorbike racer, my R6 is doing 20000rpms WITHOUT ANY problem and last longer than this vehicle

  • @blazzer5 bullshit, you got 100 years before you can say any thing about longentivity

  • @blazzer5 20k RPMS?!?! Holy fuck I need to get a motorcycle.

  • @blazzer5 Can an 80 year old 2.0 liter engine push 750 and more naturally aspirated?

  • @juliusURVAN

Not without a seriously big supercharger or turbos.

Btw, Mustangs are FAR from being some great example of modern engineering. They still use stiff rear axles and the motor itself is hardly state of the art by 90's standards let alone the supercar standards of today.

  • @McLarenMercedes mustangs do not use fixed axle suspension anymore, all independent. and i know they are not anything special, only reason i said mustang motor was for the 4.6 litre comparo aghainst the 46L

  • This car can be seen LIVE on the "Brazzelday" (7th and 8th May 2011 - The museums birthday celebrations) at the Technik MUSEUM SPEYER.

  • Warbird on wheels !!!

dagegen klingt nen Ferrari V 12 wie nen Rasenmäherantrieb !!

  • Seriously the Devil is comming !! :P
