Thats a Hobie Trifoiler, I have had the chance to sail one, they are ridick! The speed they do (25knots) With out the chance of a capsize is so weird! When you're doing 25knots and knowing you cant capsize feels kind of wrong...
Thats wild. Anyone know what the two little skis off each hull are for? Doesnt seem like they break the water for the hulls, they only sit on top and bounce over waves.
@melikeice That doesnt really make any sense. The skipper adjusts the angle of the foils...thats the main concept of sailing. Im talking about the little skiis on the tip of each hull.
@mooseoftoose This boat has hydrofoils at the bottom of the daggerboards on each hull as well as the rudder. The skis adjust the angles of these foils. When the boat is low in the water the skis are up causing the foils to angle up and lift the boat out of the water. When the boat is at the idea hight the skis level the foils so that the boat is even in the water and as the boat pitches the foils adjust to keep it level in the water. The same principle is used in the Moths.
This is a Hobie TriFoiler... Is is basically two skis below two surfboards and a rudder in the back with a little wing on (lifting the back) and steering.
if that does not inspire you then there is something wrong with you. It shows you what happens when you tape 2 windsurfers together and put a sail on it magic. truly inspirational

@melikeice Ah, that makes much more sense. By foils I thought you were referring to the two sails.

What...
This has nothing to do with windsuring?
What you are seeing is a Hobie TreFoiler. Not two windsurfers, not two plaining hulls.
What are you talking about?
