  • There you are in the light-starved abandoned mines, scavenging what spare fuel barrels you can to power your rickety platform along the track. Krocs and beasts alike line the only path toward your freedom. You tremble as you are but a toe's length away from a bottomless plight. The seeds of doubt have taken root in your heart, but there naught be a time to be craven when half a league of bananas fortune you at the end of your perilous journey.

Such is the moment in another level of Donkey Kong.

  • I know that this has nothing to do with DKC, but with the skip allowance ad can't you just turned the volume down or something? And yea I know this will mostly get negatives views

  • Tanked Up Trouble was friggin hard with the fuel runnin low & the invincible Krushas on some platforms made that level more tricky, but liked beating the level & playin previous levels that had this tune, ah memories :)

  • Such a sentimental song.....

  • Oh jeez I feel like I'm gonna cry, this was my favourite track from the game!! DK Country is still, hands down, one of the greatest games ever created. My dad used to play it with me and my brother, goooood times :D

  • @Androcrondiac I haven't seen it yet, heard its supposed to be exreteme though.

  • I was just playing Tanked Up Trouble, and my mom's friend said "This music is so relaxing it makes just want to lay down and fall asleep!". Coolest adult ever right there.

  • 3 ppl are playing justin beiber

  • @Albuquerque5000 No, 3 people ran out of fuel, and have to restart the whole level.

  • Tanked Up Trouble

  • Beautiful.

  • the best theme of donkey kong

  • Thank god i grew up with the knowledge of good games and awesome soundtracks :)

  • Cool

  • I guess David Wise made a good job of Super Mario Kart style music in Donkey Kong.

  • tellement Magnifique <333^^

  • What level was this heard in???

  • Dubstep remix, wubwubwubwubwubwub

  • @Dsupreme1 go get help please :D

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah :´)

  • Rarement entendu un si beau son sur une cartouche de console 16 bits !!! C'est limite symphonique !

  • especially when the song gets to 1:10 ish

  • am i the only one who can imagine this in street fighter, like when ryu learns his hadouken, maybe its just me, nice song though

  • i just bought this on virtual console so awesome :D

  • @papermariodude101 spam much?

  • @GlitchManAlpha how is that spam lmao.

  • i just bought this on VC so awesome :D

  • The Stickerbush symphony of DKC1

  • still play this on wii :D

better then any xbox 360 or ps3 game haha

  • this song could go on any "chillout" album and not be out of place

  • Looks like 1 person never had a childhood

  • Reminds me of my brother and me trying to beat Platform Perils. Somewhere... we are still playing in the old darkened room, somewhere...

  • @7Saburo Really? I remember playing this with my brother too, trying to beat Platform Perils. What a coincidence. I don't know if it's your older brother though, mine is - He was like a hero to me!

  • @Sizednochi Yeah same here! he was Donkey and I was Diddy, like he would protect me from the bad guys, like in real life, lol. We don't live together anymore but we're still a team!

  • @7Saburo Yes, exactly! We also don't live together anymore, but I have a younger sister now, and I play with her just like my brother played with me. It's even better in DKCR, since I can carry her around.

  • @Sizednochi Wow, cool thing is that you had the chance to be in both places. Now she will also remember when you were trying to beat the factory where this music also plays.

  • When I plan to start a family, and one day have a little boy or girl. Son as I can I'm gonna let him/her play this and a current game out now, and let him/her tell me which one he/she likes better. I bet you $100 I know which would be better.

This magnificent classic game that took me through my childhood, 101% no doubt. I thank my Aunt Wanda so much she got this for me on my 12th birthday. Happiest day of my life, like when I got Super Mario World for Christmas when I was 10 <3

  • Eargasm @ 1:11

  • @taylordize agreed

  • Such an emotional tune for a pair of monkeys trying to get back their stolen bananas from an overweight, psychotic alligator monster.

  • @WillH1231 Epic Comment!

  • @WillH1231

    True bro.

  • Here's what comes to mind when I hear this song. A dark dank mine which was one active and very full of rare treasures. Many miners became wealthy in this mine. Overtime the chances of finding anything worth keeping grew smaller and smaller. Eventually the mines were forgotten and abandoned, and were reduced to nothing but forgotten cave with railing that has eroded apart/ You know what? I think i'll start a series of stories about the history of DK Isles.

  • @rootbeer543 cool make sure you give me a link

  • @rootbeer543 I'd read that.

  • help me

is this from the snes or nes?

  • @entenschlachter It's from snes.

  • @Jawineibah thanks! :)

  • @entenschlachter Np ;)

  • This song brings back so many memories. I remember it took me forever to beat Tanked Up Trouble. My cousin and I were playing and we'd be like "Wow you suck!" whenever one of us died, then a couple minutes later while one of us was taking a break we'd be like "Shit I need your help!".

  • One person disliked just to see what people would come up for his/her disliking of it and is therefore playing a humorous trick on the citizens in this establishment and is probably chuckling at his/her computer screen at this exact moment reading this remark which you should try to examine three times quickly out loud because I am making it overly detailed. On a completely unrelated note, I can predict the future. This comment will have 0 characters remaining after I type this. And I was right.

  • the remixed version is way better

  • @supernintendoman97 as long as it's not the original, it cant be better.

  • Someone's finger slipped when they tried to "like" the video.

  • best song from the game in my opinion..... it just makes you wanna keep nodding your head

  • EASTER EGG TIME!

here we go...listen to the song and then to jingle bells. this song is based off a christmas song if you listen to it carefully.

  • Try shutting your lights off in a Electrical Thunderstorm at nighttime and listen to this tune mixed with the thunder and lightning its SWEET

  • Best times of gamers xD

  • Did you know Doom ? And LA-Worlds ? Map 02 of Cave World "Nukage Wonder"...

    Mmm relaxing music =D

  • Honestly this game had GREAT Music. Your you hear just roaming the caves and all of a sudden you hear the part at 1:11 . How EPIC can rare be?

  • @wizyzx *could :(

DKC and DKC2 had what I'd call a 'perfect' soundtrack.

    It's flawless!

  • Cranky Disliked this video

  • @Zigelhh07 hahahah i love that.

  • @Zigelhh07

    Nah, Necky did.

  • @Zigelhh07 I think you meant K. Rool disliked this. Makes more sense that way.

  • the 1 dislike is probably from a 13 year old who didn't experience this awesome game.

  • music and game perfect

thumbs up 4 the old rare

    fuck u microsoft

  • @geischeissen fuck yeah, old school Rare was awesome!!!

  • @Canache83 4 sho ;)

  • @geischeissen whoa dude wtf. microsoft rules :(

  • @TokiKatChannel microsoft is good, but rare is fucked up now

  • @geischeissen How are they good? All they have are a bunch of fps games that are all the same.

  • @rootbeer543 Don't forget, they also have the Kinect!

  • @synt4x3rr0r Kinect isn't all that great. Sure the games are different, but you need a big ass room in order for it to work properly. Even then it still kept stopping because it couldn't sense me or whatever.

  • @rootbeer543 Too true. At least in the NES/SNES days the only games that looked similar were the ones that were sequels to previous games in the same series.

These days games don't even try to look different from each-other, everything is a sequel, or a prequel, or a remake with a shitty soundtrack, and buggy gameplay.

  • @perun1nj Exactly! I try to explain this to people at my school, but now they just have to have perfect graphics and blood spilling out of enemies at every turn. Its like "hello there are better qualities that make a game good than 'omg perfect graphics' and an overly large amount of blood gushing out of enemies!".

  • @rootbeer543 I agree games have become repetitive and overly gory and bloody. The sports games are ripping people off with the same old game and different players or a new stadium big deal! Nintendo needs to come up with better dialogs for Mario instead of the same old crap.

  • @shannon4599usa Yeah I mean back then they had the same concept but always added something new. I highly praise Super Mario 3D Land because it was original. I hope they keep the good Mario games rolling.

  • I cant help but hear the 'Tink tink tink" With the platform running out of energy.

  • @Maxyo45 and the lose life music and the pop of the balloon that will most likely follow.

  • tath 1dislike already is died so it is my prefer theme from DKC really i remember so much things c=

  • Anybody else have a hard time with the one where you have to get fuel for the moving belt?

  • One person had trouble with this game...tanked up trouble.

  • @breegull64

    Or Platform Perils =D

  • 0 dislikes this is how it always will be like

  • @kimflodin i think someone spited you

  • @aresx666 it must've been you,or if it wasn't, i think King K. Rool did that

  • @kimflodin Shouldn't have said that; I think you may have jinxed it :S

  • @kimflodin sdgsdghc zxcxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Pure beauty, that's all I can say.

  • This should be the title of the inevitable Hollywood film about the 2010 trapped miners.

  • Damn! Its my favorite song from DKC

  • you may think im retarted but ive always thought in the picture that the vine goes through donkeykongs foot lol

  • Take me back to the 90´s. PLEASE :.(

  • @Nettohunden619 can i go with you?:(

  • @AAPNL12 Always :D

  • @Nettohunden619 Aaaaah the 90s, when cartoons were creative and funny, and when videogames could entertain people at any age without violence,. just creativity and art.

  • @ObsidiusFan Lol. DKC was DEFINETLY violent. You know, jumping on crocodiles heads, which gave them a concusion. ;D

  • @Nettohunden619

Mario was even more violent. A plumber crushing creatures to death with his own body weight. Now that's a violent way to go.

  • got goosebumps all over... a really overwhelming soundtrack.

  • 2 things, david wise's last name isnt wise for nothing, and someone should have played this for the chilean miners

  • @italianbro98 Probably one of the best comments I have ever read on Youtube. Gratz, man...

  • My favorite childhood Theme from the Game! Dave Wise FTW

  • im in love

  • @italianbro98 in love with setz206' mom? :D

  • @coherent911 NOOOO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOHOOOOO NO.

  • Funny story about this song... I was playing DKCR last week, and I was in the factory level that has this music, and my mother walks by, and actually recognizes the music as being from the original DKC, I was like, WTF? haha

  • @Setz206 thats how memorable the music is, my mom also recognised some of the music :)

  • @Setz206 Your mom must have good taste in gaming. :D

  • @KyubiStewie Yeah she played alot of the original donkey kong, super mario world, etc. wasn't very good at it, but she played to kill time. This was when i was like 10 years old. But yeah just caught me by surprise that she actually remembered this.

  • @Setz206

Good thing she has a little gamer side in her heart, too. :P

  • @Setz206

    respect for your mother

  • @Setz206 DKCR has this song? I just jizzed...

  • @wikuk Yeah, search for life in the mines returns. It is actually a very good remix

  • @Setz206 Your mom is so cool!

  • @Setz206 Nice =P When I played Acuatic Ambience on piano, my dad said: Hey!!! Donkey Kong!!! I also was like: WTF!? xD

  • @BrolySuperSaiyen

When I was a kid, I was 4 when this game came out btw, my parents played it more than I did. But as I got older, I owned that game >8)

  • @Setz206 Your mother is win.

  • @Setz206 Haha I had the same thing replaying some of these tracks recently, she's like "oh god, I remember that music!!"

  • @Setz206

Then you officially has the coolest mom ever :D

  • @Setz206 You have an awesome parent!

    NOOOOOSSSSTTTTAAAALLLLGASM *o*!!!!!

  • @modeseven777

    Haha yeah!

  • @modeseven777 that's the best part of the song, barnone =D

  • Donkey Kong Country Returns has made such a beautiful remix for this. It's hard to say that it's better than a classic such as this, so I'll just say it's pretty darn close.

    :)

  • Eargasam all over this track

  • quite possibly the greatest game soundtrack of ALL time. I am dead serious. Maybe better than any maria, any zelda... any of them. This really may be it. It's just.... perfect.

  • @jamiehouse73 I agreed to that

  • Oooof, be still my nostalgia heart

  • Muy buena

  • ese juego me gusta mucho por su musica ^-^

  • :3 es genial ^-^

  • the main theme is so Avatar!! beautiful pandora!!

  • Life in the mines

    Is oh so sweet

    But watch your back

    For there are the creeps

  • Incredible song

  • @claudio1ulises Awesome tune! I think this is one of the best tracks in the whole game!

  • It's been 16 years and videogames have yet to outdo this music.

  • games went down hill ever since game industries focused on First Person Shooters.

  • @aristokraticassassin People are returning to side-scrollers.

  • If you want a soundboard for this game, iDonkeyKongCountry is what you want! It features all of the game sounds, including level music. Available now in the iTunes app store!!

  • R.I.P. Rare & David Wise. Video Game music will never again be this good

  • @GamePlayer596: I know you know Dave is not dead, but you make it sound like he's dead.

  • @GamePlayer596 Robin Beanland (Jet Force Gemini Conker's BFD composer) helped out too

  • @Aeoncalcos91

I love Robin Beanland's work. You can defiantly tell it's him by his trademark ambiance.

  • My favorite music from DKC1

  • It sounds mysterious, but not eerily mysterious. I also detect a feeling of desperate hope. The composers knew what they were doing.

  • I love the mix from percussion, pan flute, and monkey sounds.

  • niceeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

but i take the water song =(

  • I love both levels songs.

  • This song sounds like that Christmas song "Silver Bells" at the first pan flute part.

  • harrdest mfn level in the game. had to keep getting fuel and staying on the moving pllatform was challenging. took me a long time to beat it. this is one of my fav songs out of the game.

  • reflect my heart ...

  • david wise is more than a genius!

  • MASTER PIECE

Fue un juegazo con una banda sonora increible.

  • I think im gonna cry T T

  • Such a relaxing tune.. Almost sounds kind of sad.

  • Great use of woodwinds! I almost think that maybe David wise made the music for each place while he was in it! every song fits so perfectly... just epic.

  • GAH! Hated those platform levels...

  • Qué buen nivel !!!!!!! y qué buen juego =)

  • I dont recall the drums but I recall the flute's rhytm
