@bhuvananz Caste system is not unique to India as every region in the world has had "class" problems. You can call it slavery, apartheid, tribal domination etc., but the root is all too human. It took Europe 200 plus years to emerge out of their dark ages, and the USA (where I live) finally got rid of official discrimination in the 1960s! Now globalized wealthy Corporations are posing the biggest threat to democracy and freedom all over the world, not a handful of old writers with no real power.

You are giving him super human credit. He is a humorist, satirist and critic who has not spared anybody. You can disagree with him, but people need to hear his point of view considering the looting by current Tamil Nadu politicians. I don't agree with him on some issues either, but open democracy requires free speech.

Even yesterday in NDTV, during a debate, he couldn express the views and cry of tamil people over Srilanka Economic sanctions. Likewise at many occasions he keeps betraying Tamil Nadu people, under the name of representing Tamil Nadu in National Debates. For this betrayal he will and should loose that stature which you mentioned about him....
