First you sort of cut down the original by suggesting that it's irrelevent then you say someone is doomed if they try to cover it unless they're outstanding musicians which, is basically putting Chris Isaak's version on a pedestal that can never be reached. Only version I've heard that compares to Chris is Paal Flaata, his has the emotion, the mystery, he has a great voice. Any cover of this song however, will always be compared to the original.
