  • Thanks for posting. Your painting is beautiful. I am new to water color painting and loved your video. We have been getting a lot of snow lately and it has inspired me to create a winter wonderland painting. I love the idea of finishing with pastels. Thanks again.

  • Thanks for this nice video. I enjoyed watching you work & learning about using the right mediums for effects you want to create & using chinagraph pencils.

One tip I have for you and everyone else, why not use a huge house painting brush, a big wet rag, or a giant sponge and get the darn pre-soaking ob done in just a sweeps? I could have started & finished painting 3 big beautiful objects in the time you spent just wetting your paper!

    In all due respect!

    Thanks again.

  • Hi - thanks for your comments - glad that over all you seem to have enjoyed the films. Just went to your site to see your films as after your advice expected some cracking stuff - see the snow on your car but seems I must have missed where your art films are?

  • Yes I use larger brushes and all sorts at different times as on my other films? With your expertise you must be aware of the delicate surface of watercolour paper PLUS able to have direct sensitive control as areas dry or you wish to control the wet into wet with both brush and or spray diffuser? On that size paper I am happy with a large mop or Hake. The speed I worked at was fine for me and did not require faster or cruder. Not that I do not at times, so quiet agree it is another choice.

  • Is that the china-graph pencil we used to write on perspex, in the RN I wonder?

  • Yes one and the same - you can also get them in colours. Useful being very dark and waterproof - plus being peelable does not require a knife to sharpen! :-)
