Hi, Hetal & Anuja, I obviously come across "buttermilk" on recipes for pancake/meat dishes, do you know the function of it, is it same as "yogurt". If a recipe have buttermilk item, can i replace it with yogurt? Please advise. Thanks. (hope you will have recipe with oat bran in future)
This is fantastic! :) I substituted the sugar for sweetener and nuts for almond extract to make a extra healthy batch!! Will be great to have with my morning coffee!! :)
I love your dishes they are all yummy. I have a question what i want to opt out the bananas for people with allegies? What could i use to sub for the lost mosture or add in it place?
I love watching the videos but cringe every time I see the large amount of sugar that is added to the sweet cakes etc . Having a sugar laden muffin every day is not good for you and I doubt good for people with heart issues/ diabetes etc. I would appreciate alternatives to the high levels of sugar that you are promoting. Thank you.
@flutesongmoon : We have used 1/2 cup of sugar to make 12 muffins and it is calculates to about 2tsp per muffin. In the detailed recipe, we have mentioned that one can cut down the sugar by half the amount and then each muffin will be 1 tsp of sugar.
I'm sorry but this is not one my favourite recipes from you guys. These muffins look very unattractive, I would use 1 egg and 1 medium or small banana instead, add 1/2 cup of buckwheat flour or regular flour and baking powder or baking soda to help the muffins rise and make the batter would be less wet.
@seygra20 : We have used 2 eggs and baking soda in this recipe. This recipe is for folks who are aware and interested in this recipe for it's health benefits. Oat bran is one of the healthiest things around and adding regular flour would compromise on that aspect of the recipe.
We appreciate your feedback and realize that every recipe is not for everyone :)
Hi, one more questions, is there is any special function for adding the yogurt into the bread, I found that yogurt is always used in your recipes. I have this queries for a long time, please tell me. Thanks for your recipes.
Hi, I love this kind of healthy food recipes so much, hope you can upload more of this kind of bread or cakes. As I fat to eat so many bread and cakes but I love it, so this is a perfect choice for me. Please tell me the yogurt you are using is the plain yogurt or not?? And the oil you are adding is what kind of oil, can it replace by butter or can I MISS it?? Looking forward for your reply and more of your wonderful recipes coming. Thanks so much.
@Stephaniebobo : We have used regular home made yogurt and have used Canola oil. You will not miss the butter as the yogurt provides the moisture and the lightness very much needed in this recipe.
Hatel, why are your muffins flat? Shouldn't they rise in the oven? I think you forgot baking soda. As for you Anuja, I miss you using the word "FANTASTIC".
@shafaq007 Oat bran is pretty heavy and isn't used in baking a whole lot. Typically the healthier things in baking don't rise as much, including whole wheat items. Oat bran muffins are a lot denser than other muffins too. A lot of grocery stores sell them baked and ready to go you should try some! Really tasty! :D
@shafaq007 : rawkstarr89 is absolutely right - oat bran is very heavy and dense but the health benefits outweigh the looks :) AND they taste FANTASTIC !!! ;)
@harshapappy : You can skip the yogurt but you will have to replace it with either oil, butter or OJ. If you use Oil or butter, you will have to replace the baking soda and use baking powder (approx 1tbsp). If you use OJ, use the baking soda.
we can use oatmeal instead of oatbran

@Stephaniebobo : Yogurt, it has a few different functions in this recipe-
- provides moisture and makes the muffins lighter and healthier
- acts as a souring agent for the baking soda to react to
- and we just love yogurt - adds a great dimension to the flavor :)
