  • This chart and song are so meh IMO...

  • @KnuxSonic8 0:48 is just idiotic. I don't know who thought that step sequence was a great idea. It still makes my head spin. And don't get me started on the kind of foot twisting that I did from 1:35 and on.

  • Pssh, tell me about it. Terrible charting right there....

  • @KnuxSonic8 Looking back on this though, while the chart has bad parts, it's not nearly as bad as some of the charts in older DDR.

  • I know one thing that bugs me. D: Why didn't HP1 get any speed mods or other nifty options like that? Why did they wait until HP2 and HP3? I'd play this game if it didn't force itself to be so hard...

  • @Fairy7red7hime It was a "testing the waters" mix. For some reason they were scared that the game might not sell so they scaled back on the production and cut a lot of features out.

Even the routines, as good as some of them are, are a just a more elaborate version of what Mario Mix did. It wasn't until they realized they had a winning series on their hands where they started putting in some actual effort, hence HP2 and 3.

  • Ohh. Huh, I guess that makes sense! But with all the effort that went into the games, it's a given that they sell well!

  • @Fairy7red7hime It didn't make any sense to me, considering that when Mario Mix was first released it flew off the shelves. For me, it was bothersome to see that even after people put down their dollar votes the first time they were still unsure about whether the game would sell or not. It's absurd. I grew to like the game in the end, but even now there's still a WTF element to it all.

  • Which element would that be? D:

  • The awkwardness of some charts, most predominantly.

  • Just like they're "testing the waters: in HP3 with BB and HMM Mode.

  • @KnuxSonic8 That was understandable, especially with the BB mode since HP3 was the first time they've ever tried anything like that. Even doubles mode didn't get Heavy/Expert charts until a mix or two later.

  • Exactly. Bet you we'll see Doubles in HP4.

  • @KnuxSonic8 With the way they're setting up the games now, I'd be surprised if Doubles WASN'T in it. In theory they could've done that on HP3 since practically all of those KOs had doubles charts anyway, the only ones that would've needed charts were the exclusive licenses and stuff.

  • But that would've been too much work for them, right? :P

  • @KnuxSonic8 We were ONE game off on that prediction.
