  • How i record my voice with two lines? in my audacity theres only one and don't show me separate stereo track.. could someone help me?

  • @BRLSD sorry can u elaborate? are you having trouble recording in stereo?

  • @jackspic3 when you say "this is a test" show in the video a recording in two lines and next you make a separate stereo track.. what i sould do? i have audacity in windows and when i put Vocoder in a track, is show a message talking about nyquist

  • @BRLSD im guessing the nyquist message is "nyquist did not return audio"? this is probably because u did not combine the 2 separate left and right channels into one stereo track before applying the vocoder. do this by clicking the arrow at the top of the left audio track. in the dropdown menu there should be an option called "make stereo track. this will combine the 2 tracks into a stereo track. now apply the vocoder.

  • @jackspic3 man, now i find the way to put vocoder but that effect reduce the sound why? when i listening with the vocoder, is very low sound

  • @BRLSD you have to make sure that the generated white noise is of a decent volume.

  • Hi Jack: this video helped me - the first I got was a kind of monstery! :) For me, as a beginner with this programme you look and sound too fast, but actually helped to make the first step. Thanks.

  • @Atta67 ok thanks. i will speak slower in future tuts.

  • @jackspic3 :)

  • awesome thank you

  • Can you use vocoder for say vocal effects such as the one Chino from Deftones uses on the song Elite?

  • @apcfire i heard the song. im not sure if he used a vocoder for those effects. it could just be normal "metal screaming". but if you know how to tweak the settings, you might be able to achieve the same effect.

  • @jackspic3 He does scream but I know it's an effect cause they use it live. I'll try and use maybe a wah with it and see if that works. Thanks for the help.

  • it sounds cool for like people in armor or something in video games but not the best for singing. :l gotta toy around with it more i guess.

  • @warkill201 yea i know. anyway for singing vocoder sounds its easier to use a midi controlled vocoder plugin like evoc20 or orange vocoder.

  • Thank you very much! :D

  • simple and effective. Thank you.

  • do you need the new beta version of audacity with the square buttons for the plugin to show because I have the other version downloaded the 90 plus plugin pack and there is no vocoder to be found

  • @westhehedgehog16 most probably yes. a lot of things for the beta are not compatible with the older version. anyway the beta version is pretty stable, so you can switch to it without much worry.

  • How would you make it sound like the robotic female intro from Jason Derulo's "Watcha say"???

  • @benjamintaylor2010 err never heard that song before. but i think they used a delay effect instead of a vocoder. turning up the pitch might also get the effect you want. reply if you have any other qns.
