  • Hawk looks like a gayer brother of Axel from Streets of Rage. Game doesn't look too bad though.

  • NOT Final Fight.

  • lol hawk stole terry bogards rising tackle, i'm sure he'll wanna have a word.

  • That might be true, but this game is like the remake of a Japan-only beat 'em up also by WestOne tited "Riot City", which was released sometime in 1991. Fatal Fury 1 was first released in Japan on November 25, 1991. Riot City either came before or after Fatal Fury 1.

  • Streets of Rage anyone?

  • Final Fight's the one that started these kind of beat 'em ups. Riot Zone is a recycled version of a Japan-only beat 'em up, Riot City, also developed by WestOne. Compare the graphics of Riot City and Riot Zone. WestOne also took Sega's Wonder Boy and created a game starting Takahashi Meijin called "Adventure Island". Riot City and Wonder Boy were published by Sega, while Riot Zone and Adventure Island were published by Hudson Soft.

  • the one that started this, was an old technos japan game called "nekketsu kouha kunio kun" in the 80's.

  • Thanks for the video. It helps with the deciding of which virtual console titles.

  • I got this one on the Wii Virtual Console. I beat it right away with no continues (easy game). Interestingly this game was developed by Westone, the same company who made WONDERBOY and ADVENTURE ISLAND! Wish I had the actual RIOT ZONE disc as my TG-16/CD still works to this day!

  • Great video on a crap game.

  • you think so try playing Arabian fight that was bad!

  • What's really bad is Strawberry Shortcake for the Atari 2600.
