  • This song <3

I remember standing in place on the map just listening to it because I was afraid the music would change.

  • @metroprefix Two people now.

  • Just noticed this is a reprise of "Chrono Trigger".

  • i understand all the time travel stuff but....i'll never understand how random monster can put a freakin robot to sleep

  • its funny how I can think some games are better than other but play the music and it instantly changes my mind

  • This music makes me think about alotof stuff :)

  • @TomV98 seriously. I miss the days when I could spend all day playing...

  • HODGY BEATS!

  • Me encanta Chrono Trigger. Es un juego que me acompañó en mi adolescencia. La música de este juego es realmente hermosa. Gracias por compartirla. Saludos cordiales.

I love Chrono Trigger. It's a game that accompanied me in my teens. The music of this game is really beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Best Regards.

  • This music reminds me of FF7...

  • The lone person who disliked lost to the Golem Overlord.

  • It's rated K-A for Kick Ass, who else agrees??

  • This song explains how sad things happen, yet pushes you onward, toward that shining ray of hope... With a catchy tune!

  • "1 dislikes."

Wow. This song is so awesome it even makes YouTube fail at grammar!

  • Lavos disliked.

  • a peacefull song that hides the sadness within yet motivates not to give up.

  • Beautiful song :-)

  • It sounds so beautiful you forget it's coming out of a plastic cartridge.

  • 1 dislikes???????????

He must be 10 years old

  • i actually get the chills when i listen to this, and thats something special.

  • While it's a nice song, I kind of feel like it makes for an underwhelming overworld theme.

  • One of the greatest moments in the game. Could this be somehow related to Vangelis' identically named track on the Blade Runner soundtrack? I can hear no clear resemblance though...

  • @bmodoryx likely inspired by Vangelis - both the Blade Runner and Chrono Trigger soundtracks are highly emotive music with distinct melodies. Two of the best works of music ever

  • Comment removed

  • It's peaceful but also foreboding like it's a calm before the storm.

  • @dannyjerome0 That's so disheartening

I'm scared for the future of gaming :(

  • @nintandao64

Don't worry. As I said before, we have Nintendo to remember us how really games are. In my opinion, Nintendo is one of the few (if not the sole one) that still worries for fun (nowadays).

  • fuck i thought i was the only one who thought chrono trigger music is amazing, seeing the comments here puts a smile on my face

  • There is a reason when I found a SNES at a church sale two or three years back, I just had to scoop it up. Not for this game, oh no. I looked at the games that came with it, Chrono Trigger? What is that? Ooh, Final Fantasy II and III! Street Fighter II? Awesome! I'm taking this. This is mine. Only Five Bucks for this and it's thirty games? SWEET!

    Two Years Later

CHRONO TRIGGER IS THE BEST GAME TO EVER BE MADE IN THE HISTORY OF EVER.

  • gods... such good music to zone out to and relax...

  • You know that feeling you get that tells you the world is bigger than you know and you need to explor it? I get that feeling with this song.

  • @dannyjerome0 You know, those newer crappier games are the reason the retro titles are dying off. I am 13 years old and got retro games when I was 4. I will stay a retro gamer for as long as I live though, which is why I get all of those remakes with the same graphics on the VC in my Wii. I also got this one and I cannot put it down at all!

  • Retrogaming clan ftl.

This should be about enjoying a wonderful era of the industry...yet we have people upset because others disagree. You can't prevent change, and you can't force your opinions on anyone else.

Still, all that matters is that YOU know what game sounds best to you.

    CT or CoD.

  • I love how this theme gives such a feeling of vastness. "Come explore the continent, amazing wonders await."

  • Kid born in 1990+, 'HAHA your old games suck look at the graphics. Man it looks like crap. Games nowadays have REAL graphics, and we can control them by bouncing around like an idiot in the living room".

Anyone born before 1985, 'Yeah? I remember when games didn't suck. Engaging storylines, well developed characters, and solid gameplay were what developers strived for in our day. You can keep your Nintendo Asspaddle remote, and WiiPii."

  • @CheeseburgerWithMayo Im a 96 and i think games back in the day kicks todays ass. >.>

  • @CheeseburgerWithMayo I was born in 1996, and I agree with the guy from >1985

  • @CheeseburgerWithMayo im a 1996 and i think today's games are CRAP(wel, some are good)

  • I have yet to play this game (but it's at the VERY top of my list) and yet the raw heart and soul in this song grips me just as much as if I had played the game. That's good music.

  • I don't know whether to cry or cum....I'll just do both for NOSTALGIA

  • Just rad some of the recent comments. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzyou guys are dullards.

  • la verdad que deberian sacar el video juego chrono trigger pero en play station 3 y

  • @saertboy Can we get an international translator for us who can't understand this? I like reading comments, but only when I can 'read' them... .... .... .....good song.

  • Chrono Trigger had a perfect soundtrack, but this song in particular makes me think of CT more than any of the others. I hear this and I really want to fetch out my SNES.

  • @LightSpectra that's because it's the theme song, they play another version of it at the title screen.

  • this games great, specially the super version, although the ps1 versions extra anime scenerywas kinda cool

  • Well.. I think I may shed a tear

  • i play my drums along to this song a lot. it's got a great tempo and feel to improvise to. :P

  • Chrono Trigger es uno de los mejores rpg de la historia , y su musica es impresionante

  • this song makes me think of a medieval times setting.. a woman is missing her husband who is a knight and has gone off to war.. she sits by the fire crying every night thinking of him.. her tears become so many in number that they extinguish the fire

  • @outlaw87100 wtf?

  • @RemBot2000 omg .. XD

  • @XBaphometGuitar666X rereading that gave me a good laugh

  • such a beautiful song. nearly brings me to tears.

one of my favorites of all time.

  • the best game for super nintendo Oh! man! this song give hope ;3

El mejor juego de super nintendo wow! esta canción da esperanza.

  • This song leaves me speechless, too many memories.

  • this song is something like the main theme but aren't the same have major differences nor is the slow version

  • when I grow up I want to be a composer like Nobuo Uematsu is the biggest all his tracks are incredible

  • Yasunori Mitsuda created the tracks for Chrono Trigger. Nobuo Uematsu = Final Fantasy

  • Nobuo also created some tracks for Chrono Trigger. For example "People Without Hope".

  • i'm feel that live in a fantasy world with this song i'm leave this world

  • This world blows

  • Who was the sound director of CT? I just congratulate him. Him and Akyro Toriyama for creating a grat game with great sounds^^

  • Yasunori Mitsuda and Nobuo Uematsu

  • Yasunori Mitsuda, in all his awesomeness, is the one who created the Chrono Trigger score. This was his early work as a composer. Nobuo Uematsu was the Final Fantasty composer.

  • Reminds me of my days as a kid...on cloudy days in front of my snes with a bag of cookies and a soda while playing some Chrono Trigger.

No matter how many times I beat it...I felt like it kept calling me back...like I wasnt finished just yet.

Playing it on my PS2 now....miss the snes version.

  • i love this song it realaxes me and makes me feel as if im on clouds or laying in a feild just watching the sky :)

  • Maidenfan... This song IS a slow versions of the main theme... (y)

  • at 0:42 sounds like a final fantasy 3 bit, which is awesome cross-featuring music by Square

  • just to point somethin out, this one sounds like a slower more relaxed version of the main chrono trigger theme. if u dont believe me listen to this then the chrono trigger theme and decide for urself.

    still nice tune.

  • I believe it's called a reprise.

  • I like how this music is nostalgic - warm and sad at the same time. As though the thing you're remembering was really good, but it causes you some kind of ache.

It's funny how music works. Funnier still how this level of composition should be in a freaking video game. This is one of the best scores for any game or movie or anything I've ever heard to date.

  • every time i hear this and to far away times i want to cry..

  • @SiththeSmith I do too. Such depth and memory...

  • Funny how this song manages to be both depressing and sorta motivating to me.

  • The first time I heard this it sent a chill down my spine.

  • Beautiful... this theme is one of Uematsu's masterpieces!

  • Yasunori Mitsuda composed the music for chrono trigger, Nobuo Uematsu contributed and helped him.

  • Well, so... thanks to Yasunori Mitsuda!

  • Comment removed

  • @magnusLordN Uematsu did not compose this song, Mitsuda did. All of Uematsu's compositions for CT were unreleased.

  • I think Beethoven and Mozart would shake the hand of this track's composer.

  • @BLARGHALT I'm sure Beethoven would love to listen to this.... oh wait, I forgot; he was deaf. XD

  • @BLARGHALT I think you...... i think you...i think you are right man!! jeje!!... i love the music of that game.... this is a great piece of my childhood....sorry if my english is bad, but i am a Mexican jeje"!!... God Bless you"!!....

  • @BLARGHALT i like people like you...

  • This song is representative of the realtionship between robo and Lucca, When robo saves the forest and lucca goes through the portal and "saves" her mother from the machine, when she returns he gives her the "Green Dream" accessory.

  • This song might be sad because it meant that the world like this would be all gone because of LAVOS!!!

  • Can somebody explain me what the title suggest? What is meant by Memories of Green? Thank you!

This song reminds me of Melchior's wisdom and knowledge

  • memories of when the earth was wholesome and clean... where grass grew wild and monsters were scarce... thats what i think the title and song brings back. memories of those times.

  • Its sad to think of it that way. I used to remember all the good times as a child. Running around in parks, having fun, and just not having to worry about problems that we have now. Everyone is so worried about the future. Its a shame its like this that many people have neglected all the simple things that make all the difference.

  • and if we don't stop maybe the world would come to and end almost like the end of the game

but with no monster in it, just one, the humans

  • -But I have to kill the demon!

-No, little man. You are the demon.

  • true true

  • can you tell from where that is?

  • Actually, I don't know. My friend said it once and I knew it was kinda famous somehow but he wouldn't tell me where it was from.

  • It's from Peter Chimaera's Repercussions of DOOM, google it.

No, John, you are the demons.

And then John was a zombie.

  • its sad how people overlook these highly praised games. its more than just a fad or a cult following, these games are vital to a future bigger than us. just as important as movies or music except games have both, cut scenes and fitting music inserts.

  • If you listen to the Pre-Release version it's different on only a certain part.

  • You know when you close your eyes and listen to this games soundtrack, all your flash backs as a kid come back to you.Makes me remember my childhood like it was yesterday, its so hard to believe isnt it .

  • I love how this game survives more than a decade, keep being recreated for the newest console. I totally love the fact that generations don't matter in a matter of feeling "what's really good stuff."

  • God, this is so nostalgic...

This song, the 600 AD song, and Corridors of Time, Far Off Promise always sends me on trip to the past.

I think it's about time I open up this game and play it again.

  • Get the DS version. That's what I have now.

  • i heard somewhere that it wont be made for the virtual console because they chose to make it for the DS. is that true?

  • Yeah, it's been out for about just over two months now.

It's got a few extra things added on.

    2 new dungeons.

    New equipment.

    New super final boss.

    New side game, arena thing.

  • I remember my cousin bringing me this game to my house at midnight. I could not WAIT for him to get there...Seemed like I was waiting forever...I must've stayed up till 4am playing. I remember the Cathedral...god my brain just popped from nostalgia overload. Besides FFVII, this is the most important game to me, so close to my heart. I'll never let it go.

  • 0:35 to 0:45 I hear this similar meledy in like, almost every Chrono Trigger song. I love it! :)

  • Ahh, the memories of Chrono Trigger and especially Chrono Cross.

  • People who don't play videogames are missing out on beautiful music like this.

  • Reminds me of a deep mysterious forest beyond the surface...

  • I miss you chrono trigger........dam those were the great days when games and imagination ruled...............today it's all about 3D violence and alot of shit that don't give you "that feeling" or a "sense of something out of this world" like Chrono Trigger did...I'm just writing what we're all feeling inside....so don't buy your child an XBOX 360 or PS3...buy them a Super Nes and Chrono Trigger!!!! but on the other hand those we're our days not our kids......sigh!

  • I have bad news.... :(

I tried to get my lil bro to play this, but he didn't like it.

  • poor misguided child!

  • LOL... I agree, but like my man uzealeternal said, its not our days, not our kids, its like telling us to go back in the day to the settler ages b4 slice bread was the greatest thing.

  • "sigh" T_T kids

  • No longer will we laugh at our parents obsessing over The Beatles or Elvis (okay, I actually like The Beatles myself so that's a bad example).

Hm, off topic example... how about Pac Man then? I mean, I really hate that yellow blob - what's his motive? What's his drive... where does he think he's going?

    Whatever...

  • @uzealeternal You can however buy them a PS3 and a copy of Final Fantasy Chronicles for PSone which includes the glorious CT in a format that should last quite a bit longer than a SNES cartridge. I have a PSone, PS2 and a PS3, so hopefully I'll always have at least one functioning console with the ability to play CT on it.

  • @fishheatcats but the psx version sux alot just buy a ds with chrono trigger i found it a month ago reviving childnes

  • @uzealeternal THANK YOU! AND WHEN SOMEONE SEES THIS THERE LIKE THIS SONG SUCKS I WAS LIKE WaW of call of duty they are not even creative anymore they just take songs and put them on. you just earned a subscriber! :)

  • @uzealeternal You gotta think of it this way, we had the privilege of actually being the first generation to play this epic game. Where as kids of today like my 13 year old nephew is picking it up on DS and saying how cool it is thinking it is a new game and getting blown away when I tell him that it has been out since I was 8.

  • @uzealeternal do you think that these games were so good because we were a kid and that led to a strong imagination. These days we are stressed by jobs and relationships and have no time just to let are imagination wander. However I do agree that these games were much better than the 3d games of today. Cheers :)

  • @JiuClaw22 Very well said.

  • @JiuClaw22

Good opinion. If you want good 3D games, try Mario 64 and TLOZ: OoT (for N64), or Wind Waker and Mario Galaxy. In these times, Mario Galaxy is a true oxygen tank for industry (in my opinion). Nintendo knows how to do things, and allowing a remake of Chrono Trigger (and its original release) is a sample.♥

  • omg one of my favorite music. it's sooo chrono trigger

  • I miss those days

  • lol dunno why this makes me feel uneasy, it feels fucking cold compared to 1000 AD/Peaceful days xD

  • I'm sure that in heaven this song plays in a loop

  • hahaha i agree

  • zZZZzzzzZZZZzZZzzzzZzzzZZZzZZZzzzzz...so......pretty...ZZZzzzZZZZzZzzzzZzz

  • It's... so beautiful... I'm at a loss for words...

  • My number-one favorite song in the entire game. I remember when I was first playing it; I wasn't quite sure what to make of the game, as I'd only had the Final Fantasy series to compare it to. Then I walked up to the entrance to the forest near Guardia Castle in 1000 AD and this song started playing.

I'm fairly sure my jaw dropped. The atmosphere of the game had me in its rock-solid grip from that moment on.

  • This is my favorite one.

  • Ice Box - Omarion sampled the piano on this.

  • I always wondered why they called it Memories of Green, until I got high and listened to this. It was flippin sweet. Like having an orgasm without the mess

  • Gotta love this music, its so peaceful...

Ah the memories, good old times.

  • anyone remember wat the fast version of this was called? it had drums/beat with it...thnx for sharing these music. Brings back lota great memories.

  • Yes. :)

  • so great...it's like sadness and childhood memories all coming back

  • Ah. This song makes me want to stand at the edge of the cliff and smell the air from the sea.......

  • And watching seagulls flying and thinking how peaceful it is now..

  • A dark room in a big recliner chair and TV with Super Metroid and Chrono Trigger with tons of thing snacks and dronks. Better than sex.

  • *drinks sorry didn't proofread.

  • Dronks sounds like a character/creature that could have been IN C-Trigger... :) heheh

  • Lol Ima blushing now.

  • lmfao, ain't that the truth. XD I love this game...

  • Ahhh...the two greatest games for the Super Nintendo.

  • More like the two greatest games of all time.

  • these songs are just so... well.. there´s no word to describe these. They are just so much more than wonderful.

  • What I loved about this game's music was the clever theme-and-variations the composers used. In nearly every track, you can hear at least a seven note sub-melody of the main theme.

  • Yes, it was all done very well, much like the scoring for any movie or tv show.

  • Love it love it

  • ....so soothing.....what would video games be without their music...

  • video games without music i'm guessin'

  • Yup! It's somewhat weird, since Lucca was the Fire Elemented team member, Marle's element is Water/Ice.
