hello there!i switched to BARF few months ago.my question is what can i do if my dogues dont like vegetables and fruits?they eat only RMB and yoghurt, cheese.if i trying to give them vegies they just looking at me and saying:"are you nuts, buddy?".so,how can i give them those essential vitamins if they dont eat vegies and fruits?Peter
@vatolocodogues you can grind/process/juice the veggies and mix it with the yogurt (make sure to put less veggies than yogurt so that the yogurt can cover the veggies). Or if you feed ground meat, mix the ground veggies with that. Dogs can't digest whole veggies anyway.
I personally don't think veggies are absolutely necessary to a dog's diet. I add it mostly because it helps to fill them up but without a lot of extra calories, and it also makes their poop softer.
@c3contact123 Actually, yes, they can, depending on the thickness/hardness of the bone and the type of chewer your dog is. If you have a very aggressive chewer, who will chomp hard on everything, then I would say be careful when feeding raw bones, and only feed softer types of bones. One of our dogs cracked 2 premolars. We can't be sure from what but we suspect it was from some harder raw bones we had given to her in the past.

can the bones damage the teeth?

@c3contact123 Absolutely not! The bones strengthen the teeth as well as help clean them of plaque.

@FeedingRaw (cont) But out of the dozens and dozens and dozens of dogs we have fed whole raw bones to, that's been the only incident.
But as np49 wrote, in general, feeding raw bones really do help to keep their teeth clean (amazingly so really).
