It's about conservation. A bike can last a long time. After it's made it doesn't continue to use huge amounts of oil everyday like a car does. It's highly efficient and relatively easy to maintain.
Upcycle, which substance is required to make bikes? From the tires to the plastics and everything in between, without oil you have no bike. If you can show me a bike that was made without a drop of oil, I would be quite surprised. Virtually verything in modern society is connected to oil. Without it, we're back in the stone age.
There may be an old bicycle out there that isn't made of oil. Real rubber tires and a bamboo frame with metal that was forged by a blacksmith who used wood. Its possible to make a bike but certainly not mass produce. Its strange who our world has been setup in a way where we have almost no way out. Its basically oil or nothing.
@SoaringEagle5344 Maybe, but the big difference between a car and a bike is that once built a bicycle uses hardly any oil (except for lubrications, and its nothing compared to what a car uses). Secondly a car requires a lot more oil to construct than a car. You cant dispute this fact.
