  • Sunday, SunDAY, SUNDAY...WANKFEST!!!!

October 30th at the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D: Ten Forward!

Featuring: William T. Riker wanking on guitar.

    Supporting acts include:

$tring Qüartetrÿche featuring Lieutenant Commander Data on violin and Miles O'Brien on cello.

    &

Captain Picard on his Ressikan flute,

    BE THERE!!!!!!!!!

  • I think I like them better then Les Pauls. I use to have a 1970 Les Paul Custom

but never liked the neck that much.

I think I will have to buy one of these 61 reissue. I have Strats,EVH, Dean 12 and looks like I will add this to the bunch,

  • out of my four axes les paul standard, strat, es335...this girl keeps calling me. fook knows why but she does!

  • That beer sounds fantastic

  • how is the neck compared to a gibson les paul standard??

  • @TheJonas06 It's similar to a Les Paul Standard with a thinner 60s style neck.

  • Hey, thanks guys!

  • Nice playin, Nice guitar!

  • I would wank that guitar in ways that truly upset normal people. Good wanking btw.

  • thats sum prime tone coming form ur gear. Feels different when its proper quality. some very interesting melodies. i didnt really like any of your fast bits cos they felt really sloppy. ur great sounding melodies void that tho 5 stars

  • awesome vid, i have a video demo'ing th 66 re-issue epi SG i think both guitars are great watch my vid and tell me wat ya think as we are both fellow SG users/lovers

  • Great phrasing..real nice melody..reminds me of old Whitesneak solos..SUPER!!

  • @goldtop68 Hey thanks!!!

  • magnific sond... sg forever...

  • what can u say about the 6505+? food for hard rock?

  • Well, it was designed in conjunction with Eddie Van Halen. He's pretty much the king of hard rock! Alot of guys use this amp for metal, but I use it for hard rock and it works excellent.

  • @SgtThump lol well one more question, would the amp head and cab produce the same tone as a combo version of the 6505+?

  • The combo and head/cab setup are both great, but different. The combo seems a little warmer to me and some people say they're biased hotter or something (non-adjustable.)

  • Dude, great tone. I play a SG Standard myself. Great guitars. Good job man.

  • Hey thanks man!

  • Brits are funny, "wankfest" hahaha... Good playing dude, and nice axe.

  • When I was 23 like you, I also thought I knew everything. If you keep maturing over the coming years, you may look back on this and realize how ridiculous it is for you to call someone a "fool" for buying a guitar they really like regardless of price or brand.

I'm sure that SG copy can sound good in the hands of a good player and I'm happy you like it.

You need to worry about your own choices in gear, not mine.

This conversation is showing some of us who the real "fool" is...

  • I'm really excited for you! It must be awesome to be fully satisfied with cheap Asian made guitars that are copies of the "real thing."

You can save alot of cash that way! Maybe you can use some of the leftover money to buy a Crate amp that's "just as good" as the stuff from Diezel, Bogner, Soldano, CAA, etc...!

  • this can only come out of a beginners mouth :D

i got the same guitar, AWESOME

way better than my gibbo les paul and my esp eclipse

  • great neck !

  • Great wankfest my friend. I have the exact same amp. It's a fire breathing dragon. I have always dug the looks and sound of an SG, but they have never felt right to me. You make them sound pretty good though. I have a couple of wankfest vids myself if you feel like checking them out.

  • Hey thanks man. I'll definitely check out your vids!

  • I always love watching you jam man, on different gear and guitars, and am so happy to see you picked a 61 reissue up!! I fell in love with it too, and I know what you mean when "that" guitar lands in the palm of your hands, somethin weird about it and unexplainable, it just happens. I can't wait to hear you play this baby on some of your other amps!! Congrats and rock on!! \m/

  • Thanks man! I just love this guitar. It just feels "right" like you said!

  • I just have some trouble getting a decent clean sound outta mine.

  • mee too !!!!

  • It kind of has that woodstock era santana bite to it.

  • I love the way SG's play as well. One of my Axe bro's used to have a 76 SG Custom. He was such a Randy Rhodes head , it was awesome. Kicker was he played it thru a Gorilla 15 combo lmao.

Hey, nice riffin on that Tesla song @ 2:53 dude. Sounding good!

  • Hey thanks man. I can't get over just how much I like this SG. I haven't felt this way about a guitar since I got my R8 Les Paul several years ago.

  • Btw were you having a Natty moment here? (natural light) LoL. Thats a staple here in the south LoL. Speaking of your R8, is the neck thinner than the r9? Using this info for down the road. Thanks man

  • Heck yes! At home, I always drink Natural Light. It goes back to my teenage days when I didn't have any money and that's all we could afford. LOL! I like it myself. :)

In general, the "older" the reissue, the bigger then neck. So the R7 is bigger than the R8, the R8 is bigger than the R9, the R9 is bigger than the R0, etc...

Since the necks are done by hand, I know this can vary. The neck on my R8 is chunky with a VERY soft "V" shape to the back of it, believe it or not.

  • Sweet sound! what cab are you using?

  • Thanks man! It's a Marshall 1960BV, which is a straight-front cab loaded with the Marshall labeled "Vintage" speakers made by Celestion. Some say they're the exact same thing as Vintage 30s, but others say they're a little different.

I kinda think they're a little different myself, but who knows... :)

  • Great sound! I got my SG 61 a few days ago!

  • Thanks and congrats!

  • Sounds like you are playing some new riffs and scales! although I really like the normal stuff too....

  • Ya know, you're exactly right! There's something about this guitar that makes me play alot differently than normal.

I used the SG at a gig last night for the first time and the other guys in the band even commented on how my playing was different (better.) It's weird how this guitar inspires me to step outside the safe zone.

The playability and tone are ridiculous. I've owned alot of guitars and I think this one is the easiest playing guitar ever (and it sounds fantastic.)

  • hey happy halloween sgt thump!! yo, was that some natty light? sg is beautiful man!

  • Of course it's Natty Light! Only the best for me! :)

  • Dude!!!! You are freaking amazing!!!!! Holy Sh#t!!!!!

  • Oh, and Happy Halloweeeeeeeeeen Thumper.

  • Damn hippie booze hounds. What in the world is happening to humanity.

    : P

  • LOL! Hey, what's up man?
