Hey! I'm interested in what you think about DRAWING tattoos for people. I stopped doing tattoo art for people because I felt that I was maybe contributing to the Act of getting a tattoo, not necessarily Getting a tattoo... What do you think!? I've been wondering about this for a long time.
@TheMadzymoo I dont think there is anything wrong with that. Art is art. What people do with it is up to them. Again, I'm not condemning anyone for tattooing or piercing their body, im just sharing my personal reasoning for why im not getting any.
Going back to the "infection" theory, in various religions, it regards eating meat or eating of the dead as sin or recommends not to do so. I'm assuming it was because they didn't have meat preservation/ refrigeration back then. Yet, what do maggots eat? What does Christ want? "To eat of My flesh and drink of My blood."
Or do they mean not to modify your body because 2000 years ago, it was meant that the person with the modifications either sees themself above all else or everyone else sees that person as inferior, maybe? And what they mean as they want everyone true and equal to each other, perhaps?
What if they meant, 2000 years ago, before there was anti-biotics or sterile processes, not to tattoo or pierce because it'd cause an infection? (infections were deadly back then.) Or philosophically, don't tattoo or pierce yourself And does the same holds true for cosmetic surgery/ dental surgery/ plastic surgery? Don't modify yourself because your natural body is your true self, not decorative rings and body art?
My personal opinion is the Romans teaches us there is nothing unpure with in itself, but to those who defile it by abusing the opportunities and taking advantage of the choice to get them..
Hey Lauren boo, Listen I love your editions of, "MissBoogie speaks", just let you see something in the text. Tradition has taught us that we are not to tattoo our flesh... Can i raise this up, read the text again.... It says, "Do not lash your body nor mark your body in remembrance of the dead"' We have to understand tats are originally came from the perverted sense to remember the dead... Tats, I personally think are fine as long as you glorify God in it...
I repsect your point of view; but seeing this is from the first 5 books of the Bible; a lot of things are not followed. Do you cut of your arm if you steal? Or stone people? A lot of things written in the old testament are a bit strange and strict. Also, why is it okay to have 1 set of piercings but not 20? sin is sin correct? Sorry if I offended you; it's just another view point.
@InfamousBeauty16 You didn't offend me at all, and I'm glad you left a comment. I never said it was ok to have 1 set of piercings but not 20. The piercings I have were done when I was a baby(if thats what your talking about). True, the laws given during the old testament were for those times, but the principals remain the same. No we dont cut off someones arm if they steel BUT it is STILL a punishable crime. A sin IS a sin, we just serve justice a lot differently now.
Scholars believe there was a practice where people cut/pierced their bodies and rubbed ash from a cremated friend/family member as a sign of rememberance. That is what I think the bible is talking about. This is just my view of it, but i do not think god doesn't like tattoos/piercings, but he does not like tattoos/piercings when used in practices such as the one i stated above.
But What if a person wanted a tattoo of jesus? or a cross? Would that be a sin? Even though its glorifying god?
If God said that our body was a temple of the Holy Spirit, how is glorifying God by defiling his temple? We glorify God by living holy and compelling other to give their lives to Christ. A tattoo of a Cross on my chest is not glorifying God, but myself. Think about it.
@TheeMissBoogy In my personal opinion, if you get a tattoo that has significance to you, then it is not a sin. If you get a tattoo just for the hell of it, or just because it looks cool then that is a sin. I plan on getting tattoos in the future, but i hav thought about why i want them for years, so i kno Im not getting them for the wrong reasons. But tattoos and piercings are traditions that started long b4 the idea of religion was around.
"...if you get a tattoo that has significance to you, then it is not a sin. " Everyone gets a tattoo that means something to them-whether its for something big or small-so that comment is irrelevant. Thats just like saying "we believe that we are each others soul mate and will be getting married in the future, so if we have sex(fornication)thats not a sin. WHAT!?! Makes no sense. But, like I said before, do you boo! These videos are of my personal opinion.
@TheeMissBoogy pre-marrital sex/fornication is a whole different subject. tattoos can be removed, even tho its a long, painful, not 2 mention expensive process. but it can be done, giving urself to some1 can be taken away, its with you forever. but getting back to the topic of tattoos. leviticus & corrinthians are in the old testiment, and most of that part of the bible was written for that time era, the new testiment is for "modern" times.
@TheeMissBoogy but like you said, this video shows ur opinions. and i hav nothing against that. but im still getting my tattoos and piercings. i feel that my body is not complete without them. Im glad i had the chance to discuss this topic with you. thank you
@PSYKOPUNK666 Its a little difficult for me to believe that you think your body "is not complete" without tattoos. LOL. We were individually created in Gods image, and for you to say you are not complete without something as superficial as a tattoo, that's like saying God didn't do a good job when he created you. WOW! But, it's all good. We all have things we feel are important to us.
@TheeMissBoogy Revelation 19:16 (King James Version) And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
if god didnt want tattoos he wld not hav sent jesus with a tattoo on thigh, do we kno its a tattoo? no, but last time i checked they didnt hav markers/pens back then. If your god thought tattoos were evil, he wld not hav created them. and tattoos have been around longer than any known religion.
@TheeMissBoogy no offense to your religion, but im not goin 2 listen 2 a 2,000 year old book tht was somehow written by illiterate people. to me tattoos and piercings are art, and i enjoy getting them. thanks again for this conversation, but i think its clear neither one of our oppinions are going 2 change.
Thanks for the build I don't approve of tattoo but wanted to bring forward that in Revelations Christ returns with a tattoo on his left thigh stating King of Kings Lord of Lords
the straight bar across the ear is called an industrial and you already have your lobes pierced it wont make a difference if you get the top of your ear to, god still loves us
I know God still loves us, but that doesnt mean we take advantage of a situation. Thats like saying, "Well, I lost my virginity already, i might as well keep having sex(fornication), God still loves me". Just because God has a kind of love for us that surpasses our understanding, doesn't mean that we use that to our fleshly advantage...
deffinetly and no one goes out to get a tattoo or piercing because they are taking advantage of anything they get it because they want it and think it is beautiful
I agree. But, I never said people get tattoo's because they are taking advantage of a situation...I was speaking in my case. Im not getting any more piecing because I believe it wrong. Are tattoo's and some body piercings pretty-Yes! Are they for me-No! Period
girl Im so glad that you touch on this i have battled with this especially recently but for me my mind set is come out from among them and be ye seperate not that we are any better but what wittness does that give i recently recieved my license for ministry and i had to ask myself being a young women to other young women what example would i be setting so my hopes of Jesus girl on my arm is getting washed down the drain and here you go confirmation lol Luv ya girl keep doing what your doing
