@oxonboy Latvian government has never supported holocaust and Arajs kommando and Waffen SS as organization period. What people in Latvia support is Latvian Waffen SS veterans who fought against communists. And about anti british I still dont deny dislike of them peeing on the monument of freedom whitch you previously called SS monument whitch makes no sense (yes right I know that it's you playing games with usernames).

He was taken to court but not imprisoned..
I cannot say that I support people doing such things wherever it is..

@StopNaziCroatia Well if russians can celebrate the victory of communist army in 9th may why can't we honour our soldiers who fought in SS against communists who had killed their famelies and relatives whyle communism caused 4 times more victims than nazism (communists starved to death 7 million ukrainians that is as much as nazis killed in whole WW2)

@ziguzagunigunegu I can only answer from a British point of view...but you see for us the difference is that the Waffen SS commited war crimes against British (and US) POWs and were generally responsible for the majority of atrocities commited by the Axis side.. I have never heard that is was Latvians who murdered our troops (I very much doubt that it was considering it was in France/Belguim)...but it was that particular organisation..

@StopNaziCroatia Couse communists were bigger evil for Latvians than Nazi becouse the reds sent Latvians to Syberia shot our army officers tortured and killed people in central prison sent Latvians to death camps put in prison for actions against USSR not to mention red armys rapery acts. Germans offered Latvians chance for vengeance which they took (though many where mobilized by force) so thats why we honour people who fought against those who had brought us so much suffering not vice versa.

@ziguzagunigunegu But dont you realise those groups that you now honour killed so many people in the west too? For us the Waffen SS will be regarded as a criminal organisation...unlike the Germany Navy or Luftwaffe etc..
They are many people in the UK who are outraged by people honouring the SS in Riga...and of course many Jews too... This is why it appears to us that Nazism is being honoured rather than just the soldiers..

@StopNaziCroatia Thanks for understanding I really appreciate it but watch the marches there are zero Nazi simbols or anything else except for Latvia flags (well russian protesters only usually bring crossed Hitlers photos etc.) It's hard explain our situation and it gets harder as russians try to make us look nazi in their media.
