  • There are not enough words to describe how amazing Doris Day is.

  • Aww.... She is so sweet calling fans her friends. Doris Day is the epitome of a classy Hollywood legend. I treasure all her movies she gave us.

  • @td2gether4ever I totally agree! And she did it again this year. I'm looking forward to listening to the broadcast.

  • I love Doris so much for many good, and good intended, reasons.

  • @Peabody5678 She deserves it! By the way, tomorrow is her birthday and she will be interviewed again. If I'm lucky, we'll have it soon in my channel.

  • She has a special way about her, and it does not matter iff she only chooses to let us hear her voice and not see her anymore.

Thanks for the internet so many of us can now share in listening to her on line.

  • @Lydia1712 You're so right!

  • Special to hear her now.

Love her music and it s great she still can do what she loves to do, caring for animals.

  • @Lydia1712 Isn't it wonderful? Doris is as witty as ever!

  • @PitterPatty This is a sweet dream. Doris wants us to remember her as the gorgeous girl-next-door she once was. This is sad. I'm sure all her fans would be happy to have a glimpse of her now.

  • yay thnx for posting this - i love hearing her voice! it makes me feel so happy! such a nice beautiful woman!

  • @alleyt1989 You're welcome! I feel the same way about Doris!

  • Yay Doris!! Another year and you're still here, sharing your life with us. I'm so happy to listen to you :)

  • @JeniBurton213 We all pray she stays with us for many, many years!

  • Love, love, love Doris Day! She is so talented and beautiful. I wish I could spend an afternoon with her:) Please keep these phone calls coming!! I pray she is in good health and happy!

  • @rwhite325 I loved your beautiful words. I too pray she stays this way for many many years. By the way, have you heard her latest interview? It was broadcasted last sunday. I'll try to send you the link.

  • @rwhite325 Me too! I'd give anything to meet her. Let her know what an inspiration she's been in my life. Too bad it's only a dream...but it's a good dream right?

  • Thanks for posting this. It was fun to listen to... I've always been a Doris Day fan... I wrote her a fan letter when I was 14 (in 1972!)... Amazingly enough, she answered it! Your movie site was terrific... loved it. Thanks.

  • @KimL1958 Hi! She is really sweet! I don't doubt she answered your letter. I'd love to know what she said! And thank you so much for visiting my movie blog! Kisses and have a great week.

  • Doris worked tirelessly for over 6 decades and I once took the occasion to write a note to her and thank her for having entertained me, my loved ones and friends for ever so long. She truly does deserve her retirement from this medium and I wish her well.

  • @coywin I totally agree! From doing that she shows it isn't all about fame, other things count - and she is not abandoning her fans, this shows how sweet she is.

  • Mrs Doris Day has unlimited talent , she was a perfect performer , actress, singer, dancer . I wander why did'nt she get an Oscar, why is hollywood ignoring her

Happy bearthday and many other to come

    Boaz Senator Milano\Tel Aviv

  • @boazsenator Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Boaz! I wonder too why Doris hasn't received an Oscar yet.

    Have a great weekend!

  • @megchristie1 According to an interview by her late son Terry; Doris was quite happy to leave her movie life behind. Apparently she was asked to appear at the 75th Oscar Anniversary a few years back and graciously declined. She admits to being a perfectionist and I think wants us all to enjoy her in younger years;even though we love her forever. Many feel she will still receive a Lifetime Oscar.

  • @tarnsand Hi! I guess you are right, but we all feel she deserves this award - I guess she should receive it without having to show up in the ceremony, but this doesn't appear to be the Oscar people want :-)

  • I don't know how anybody could not like her. When she starts to cry you just want to give her a big hug! Too adorable.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this, it's wonderful! a truly beautiful person, growing old gracefully.

  • I know its asking a lot but I would love to see her in another appearance . Betty Whites doing it. LOL but really it would be like a group hug for her fans ( i.e. friends) But in any case, This is so nice to hear her voice again. Thank you for bringing it to us. I donated to my local shelter in honor of her birthday.

  • Oh forgot, thanks Meg for making this for the zillions of Doris' fans. How sweet of you you made my day!

  • At 87 Doris Day sounds the same as she did in her movies! What a wonderful lady! Her amazing zest for life is what keeps her so young at heart. Isn't it remarkable how quick she responds, her laugh is so good to hear as it hasn't changed at all. How lucky for us who grew up with her zany comedies and TV show and specials. They don't have gorgeous funny ladies in Hollywood like her now. Love you Doris!!!!

  • @tarnsand I totally agree with you!! I loved the way she responded to the speaker when he told she was "Up in age": "You don't have to say 'up in age'!". They seem to be great friends and Doris sounded lively as ever!

  • Thanks so much.

Doris is just such a nice person. Last year I wrote to her on behalf of my Mum - and Doris wrote a note back. Very classy lady.

    >> 2010 Doris quote: "It's wonderful to have a birthday. It's better than not!".

    Wunderbar!

  • @gaymarketing You're welcome! I loved the story related to your mother, Ian!

    Kisses and take care.
