  • what if Jake and Elwood pulled this shit tomorrow on Inauguration Day. ha. But seriously this film was a good PR for Chrysler at the time as most of the cruisers here are Dodge Polaras and Iacocca was successful in bailing Chrysler out of bankruptcy in '79. Man I wouldn't having one of those Polaras now to supe up.

If you can't post comments w/o sputtering that racist bullshit just remember the old saying "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

  • haha nice way to put it

  • Anyone can do blues dipshit.

What's that? Never heard of a "Cover Band"? If I'm not mistaken, they cover other peoples music all the time. In your opinions, race should remain notwithstanding.

  • Yeah.

  • That's where you came from Why don't you go home She said. And I said It isn't quite as simple as that No it isn't as simple as that. I'm talking I said about one too many cold water flats One too many Camels. I'm talking, I ain't walking, about another shot. Finish the drink you have, she said, Fo' you go orderin' trouble for y'self. You know she said sugar You know she said doll That water is cold but sweet to the taste Don't mess up your life don't make it a waste.
  • This old Robert Johnson tune shares one thing with Bach's Goldberg Variations: it contains a recursive formula such that it doesn't ever have to stop, and keeps unfolding the mystery of Chicago, home, heimat, where all the cakewalking babies come from.

  • lol :)

    i love blues brothers!! :D

My friends and I were standing just to the right off camera when the bluesmobile goes down that highway embankment

  • derdnot:

    Where were you, Wauconda?

  • Yep!

    12 and 176

Saw them film the beach scenes at Phils beach and the scenes where the kids were passing out the posters up on main street, too.

  • derdnot:

My sister lives on the west side of 12 and 176.

She let us all know they were shooting there.

Kinda cool, meeting someone that was there also.

    TPD

  • Sweet vid. 5 stars.

  • BB 2000 is really bad but the music is good ;)

  • one of the best movies ever!

  • Mitici!!!!

  • the film is the best!:)

  • A perfect bass line here by Duck Dunn.

  • Duck Dunn is absolutley the best. Check out "She Caught the Katy" .It's my current Blues Brothers infatuation.

  • Movies aint what they used to be ... I dont think we will see another movie as cool as this one ever again . I saw this in the theater at the age of 9 in a double feature with "The Jerk" and it still is to this day the best movie I ever saw !

  • 'it's dark and we wearing sunglasses'

    GREAT! Best movie ever!

sorry for my English, but I'm 12 years old, and I live in the Netherlands! :)

  • this song and movie has alot more meaning to me being being born and growing up in Chicago,if u consider harvey, Ill Chicagoland, but i seemed o get into alot of trouble after i saw this movie ,lol

  • "use of unecessary force is authorized"

  • "I still can't bring myself to watch Blues Brothers 2000. In my mind once Belushi died, so did the Brothers."

that is right my friend acryod is great but joliet made the movie.

  • Belushi was awesome yes , but Akroyd was huge as well they could not have done this movie nor would it have been 1/2 as great as it was without both of them they had to 2 perfect guys to do this movie .

  • Hey Cappy~

I read what you wrote bout not being able 2 watch BB2000. I wonder if by now you've watched it? Well,ya know what happens with a sequel. The music is awesome. John GOodman holds his own. Funky Nassau rocks not 2mention all da heavy hitters. Gr8t job with the vid & music my aLL time fav scene: When Jake gets out & they spend the 1st night in Elwoods hole in the wall & Jakes girL blows it up when Jake climbs out of the rubble 2 hear the bricks tink together still makes me laugh :o)

  • Love Duck Dunn's bass noodling around 5:00 onwards

  • this is one of the greatest songs (from one of the best movies) i've ever heard

  • its really dificult to start better a bluesbrother vid LOL

  • 'It's a 106 miles to chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes and we are wearing sunglasses'

    Yeah! :D

  • and I managed to miss the it's dark part.. ;(

  • ...ahh, the childhood memories of watching this movie over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. ...tear.

  • Nice vid, and great trib to ("The late great") Magic Sam who passed away on this day in 1969. Man, I love good old Blues!! It paved the way. Hey, like joaojose18 said, this was all made popular by the "Original" Mr. Robert Johnson" Think we're fibbin', check your history!

  • Don't FORGET this song is a creation from Robert Johnson, the master of blues!

  • You are so correct! Great tie-in! Keep Rockin'! The 'Nut.

  • Great - I love it. Good lining up the video with the music also.

  • scovronski12 wrote:

You are correct sir, nice catch. Here I was thinking it was a Fury all these years.

In looking it up I confirmed something else that I had heard years ago: that the high speed "el" scenes were, in fact, shot at 120 MPH.

    Whoo hoo!!

  • total god musik, total god film... bare godt på alle måder. jeg giver den 5 ud af 5 stjerner

    *****

  • great

  • great piece of editing great film.

  • Love this version, Dan and John really miss John he was the Blues Brothers

  • Hats off, Capster! It couldn't have been done better, my friend. This movie was one of those seminal events that changed EVERYTHING when it came out. Imagine the effect it had on a 13 year-old kid (myself) who was already way into music and playing the drums semi-professionally! Again, I bow to your stellar efforts!

  • Lame, lifeless, and over-produced version of a true classic, enjoyed exclusively by clueless ignoroids with no appreciation of truely great blues music.

  • this IS truely great blues

  • The Blues Brothers RULE! I I hope that poor old Robert Johnson got those hell hounds off his trail.

  • I can't resist: One new prophythaltic...one soiled. New Oldsmobiles are in early this year. This is definitely Lower Wacker Drive. That Night Train is a mean wine. Leave me alone you fat penguin! I hope those cops don't have SCMODS. No man, those lights are out on purpose! I hate Illinois Nazis. I've always loved you. It was floods, locusts, it wasn't my FAULT!
  • All right! Classic!! Great job Cappy in putting this vid together! I enjoy this movie more, every time I see it. Awesome soundtrack, a million hilarious sight gags and one liners and some of the best car chase footage ever shot. The crap sliding across the dash of that old Plymouth Fury (the Bluesmobile) as Elwood navigates under Chicago "El" at 120 MPH is priceless.

  • actually the bluesmobile is a 1974 dodge monaco

  • Best Video, Best Song, Best Movie, And The Greatest City Around!!!

  • grandiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • there was a sequel called blues brothers 2000 wich featured most of the original cast apart from obviously belushi

  • indeed...lol...

  • "So much of the music we hear today is preprogramed electronic disco we dont get the chance to hear a master blues band practicing their crap anymore. By the year 2006 the music known now as the blues will exist only in the classical records in your local public library, so tonigth ladys and gentleman will we still can lets welcome from Rock Island, Illinois: the Blues Brothers!!" lol
