And at first the Appy was not too sure about the drive through and then looked right at home once he saw a human behind the window! And the end, they were all so cute grazing while their riders were having lunch. We used to ride our horses down to Sambos, they actually put in rails with tie rings for horses but it was more rural then!

it is so fun riding through the drive through horse back! when i was in wyoming i did this with my cuz and we got in trouble by the sheriff but then i did it in my home state where i live (colorado) and the cops just waved and asked if they could pet our horses! lol!!!!!!

riding in town IS legal in most average towns. However, riding on sidewalks is not. You should be on the road, with traffic. If your horse isn't safe to do that, then don't ride in town. Also, poop scoop laws DO apply to horses. Be prepared to clean up after your horse. Also, traffic laws do apply, ie stop signs, stop lights, extra all apply to the horse and rider.

Where I live at, riding horses is like a riding a bike in the road. They also make "cabalgatas" which are really fun with alooooot of horses :) Look them up in youtube by "Cabalgatas en PR"

@HowlerOfTheWolves no we didn't get in trouble. Supposedly the manager was really mad, but nobody called the police or anything. If they tell you to get off theie property then get off. As long as you listen to them you can't get in trouble. resisting, then yes you probably could get in trouble. Make sure you horse will be okay, and then go for it! do it when place isn't too busy, so that if your horse needs to stop to look at something, you don't have a line of cars waiting behind you.

@modelhorsecollector1 Actually in most places horses still legally have the right of way.... If a horse is riding down the middle of the road, drivers can not legally pass them... They must follow at a safe distance until the rider moves the horse to the shoulder and allows them to pass...

@dragonwaffles06 I'm honestly not sure, I'm pretty sure it is legal because how else do the Amish get around? Also I have had like millions of cops pass me on the road and none have stopped. I tend to ride on the side walk for safety reasons, and no one's had any problems with that.

I ride my horse to town all the time! its fun making peoples day!:) Our goal was to get to the McDonalds, about a 45 min ride from our barn but my riding buddys horse came up lame, so we couldnt go! Technically, every store should have a hitching post for people who still use horses as transportation around town! as long as you scoop the poop, its okay!:)

@vivienleigh1097 well your right about the leg problem for sure, but wrong leg.  He has a bowed tendon on one of his front legs. I felt it one day cuz someone thought my horse was getting a bowed tendon and I wanted to see what one felt like. It felt like half or 3/4 of a tennis ball was put in his leg. He's old, IDK why he doesn't get surgery, I know little on the subject just rumors like this winter he will or it takes long to heal and harder to heal on an older horse, and so on.
