  • I'm learning this as one of my jury pieces for my last semester of my Bachelor's! :D

  • CAMBRY!

  • very sensitive interpretation of this piece! really enjoyed it.

  • This is so beautiful. Thank you for your artistry and great talent. Your family must be so proud. I wish you'd go on a concert tour and so others can listen to your heart.

  • I am going to learn this piece. I've heard many recordings of this but yours, I really really like.

  • この人のピアノめちゃ好き!!誰??

  • Quite excellent!!

  • very talented

  • Great performance! Yet another of my favorites you do justice!

  • I must admit it he plays very well! Way to go man!

  • Peice is very very and very difficult.

  • @aituar77 no it isn't.

  • there's a time for racism, however, watching a man who has obviously devoted thousands of hours of his life to learn this great skill that brings happiness to thousands and helps perpetuate the greatness of our musical history is not one of them. Do us all a favour and fuck off

  • I will post anything I want. Wanna do something about it?

  • @jimbozaify There's a time for racism? Wtf are you talking about?

  • i think you play it too much like an etude, rather than a piece

  • this piece is a favorite. it is difficult to play well, correctly and stay under control. that is one of the best performances i've seen in a long time.

  • really good! but even much emotions at the end are allowed Francesco

  • wowowowowowowowowow!!

  • I like this tempo, and I like this good solid sound. Horowitz played this frequently in his declining years, and very frankly he always made it sound hysterical, neurotic --- a mad dash to the finish line. This may not be as exciting, but it is more satisfying. Please don't rush at the very end, however. It's hard to resist that impulse, I know.

Who IS your teacher? He or she deserves MUCH credit. You've improved by leaps and bounds.

  • I LOVE this piece!!!!! So passionate!

  • great sound quality...very fine playing. love it!

  • very nice, and a great tempo too, when u hear this live most people play it too fast

  • Another fine performance! There's so much lousy piano playing on YouTube that it's a pleasure to hear someone who can actually play.

  • Fantastic. This is really really good. Very difficult piece and you nailed it. I'm impressed.

  • Very difficult, very very difficult!!

  • This rules. Reprezent the hood!

  • Ah, except this cat is from the burbs, not the hood!

  • I am definitely not from the burbs, and definitely not from the hood LOL

  • Sorry about that. I do know where ever you live- your parents have a beautiful home- saw it in your video. I'm just sick of these people who see someone black and have to assume he or she is from the "hood"or "reppin the ghetto".

  • You're like the potential of Art Tatum playing classical released!

  • difficult piece

    very good

  • You are the best!!! :D

  • this is amazing, i also liked your chopin scherzo, i am currently learning it, its inspiring

  • Schumannetudes, where is your video? Where have you performed? Who's studio where you in? What conservatory did you attend? Don't compare resumes with someone who is playing Scriabin. Scriabin's creativity demands technical soundness and if you were a piano player, you would know that. Don't be so discriminatory and so patriotic.

  • Did any of you know that Alesandr Scriabin is a 'devil worshiper'? Google it! But, I love his music, though.

  • i don't mean to point out a mistake but i honestly thought that there was a mistake that you made that actually sounded really good lmao.

  • As a Russian girl who played piano for 10 years, it is so nice to see that you are playing the works of Russian geniuses of music!!!

Thank you for great videos, I truly enjoyed it! :-)

  • you sound so american

  • Another superb performance!

  • Jonathan, you are the MAN.

  • genius... :)

  • lol 5 views,

I think I`ve seen all Jonathans video`s 100 times, I`m absolutly in love with his playing, it feels human, if I watch a lot of my biggest fan Horowitz its sometimes unmotivating because I get the feeling to often its inhumane to achieve that level, With cambry its fun because you see him progress and it gives motivation because you see and realise, hey he`s human!

    totaly addicted :)

  • Amazing. I've just started learning the Rach MM #4, which is pheonominally hard.

Do you write any of your own stuff? Since your main influences are Rach, Liszt and Scriabin, I'd love to hear some!

    Keep it up!!

  • i like how you dont try to play as fast as possible!! 1:30 when you come to the climax and you slow it down amazing

  • thats usually how its played

  • Dang, just four weeks, whew, and from memory. Hell, it would take me four weeks just to learn the notes.

  • err.... to many pianist get to many views for playing something like canon in d major, and this excellent performance of a scriabin piece gets a mere 23'000 views in comparison to 230'000?

this just makes no sense to me.

gonna look trough more of his video see if i find poem in F#

  • hey, i learned this in about 2 months...the last part of the song wasn't too difficult..just the beginning and middle.

  • I love it :D

    It's very intense :D

  • lol who is this guy??

    where'd he come from?!?!

    YOU ROCK AT PIANOOOOOOOO!

  • !!! AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL.

Did it really take only 4 weeks to learn? You must have some insane learning methods.

But yeah~ spectacular performance. I've watched your video probably 5 times now.

  • awesome performance and music!

  • VERY VERY NICE PERFORMANCE. WOW! I must to call you Cambry Horowitz

  • Nah call him the black version of evgeny kissin lol.

  • nonsense

  • I agree with a lot of the previous comments on your seeming lack of physical emotion. That being said, the piece is played with such conviction and not overly zealous depth that the prior seems insignificant.

  • Unbelievable piano playing there. Well done. Well done indeed.

  • I was thrown down my chair, that piece is one of the toughest... wow!

  • Bravo Mr. Cambry! Excellent piano playing. I am trying to learn this piece but it is quite hard. Good job! :)

  • then go watch their vids you pedophile

  • Could I ask you how long it took you to learn this piece?

  • I think I learned this for about 4 weeks by this point that I recorded it, I probably play it a lot different now

  • squ1rrelkilla i bet you probably go on youtube just making bad comments to really excellent piano players like cambry because YOU SUCK!!! And you will never become a great pianist ever so shut up.

Like what cambry said, Get a life and watch their vids you pedophile...

  • squ1rrelkilla you are a troll.

    playa

I really liked your voicing of the final chords. Good job.

  • Then you're deaf.

  • But WOW the best interpretation of a person thats not pro.

Lol ur at like the closest you can get to pro.

  • I think that you could really go pro if you put some more emotion into it

  • tres belle interprétation..

  • this is pro i think its to quiet though, its really a dramatic etude

  • good job! You handled the climactic six against four nicely.

  • and my piano teacher doesn't want to teach it to me cause he sais im too young...well i dont care i still wanna play it

  • u wont help me? cmon i need help with the left hand plz cause i got this like a week or 2 ago ={

  • too regular, you should use far more rubato

  • great recording, absolutely beautiful piano, and need i say, wonderful interpretation

  • nice, innocent and smooth interpretation. i just caught 3 mistakes and 2 of them were insignificant. great job overall.

  • which microphones are u using? i think ur interpretation is better than kissin and horowitz, really well done job.

  • Thanks a lot David, that's a huge compliment coming from a great player like you!

  • @PianoPlaya123 Your performance very much reminds me of Horowitz's, both Horowitz and yourself play it better than Kissin...

  • I think the Horowitz recording in Carnegie is still a lot better, although less clear technically, but comparisons aside this is simply excellent playing, I wish I could play as well as that. I tried this piece and never had the courage to master its difficulty.

  • hello its me again the guy who needed help with revolutionaryu etude again...u play ur peices very good and I think that u could give me some good advice on this piece so...erm uuh yeah could u plz give me tips plz. love ur work =}

  • hey man! that's an incredible interpretation! in my opinion it's better than evgeny kissin's as kissin plays this piece too impulsive! greetings to chicago!

  • Hey man look at mine ;)

  • hey cambry awesome playing. That's why I am going to learn it sometime during these 2 semesters at my college... I am currently finishing up another Scriabin piece called the Fantaisie in B minor. This piece is right up your alley, with nonstop bombasticness, yet also moments of tenderness. Check it out, it would be a great piece to add to your repertoire (unless you have already learned it!!) If you're looking for a version on iTunes, check out Roberto Szidon's. Alright, you are awesome

  • Hey, your skill is just beyond all measures. Well I really want to start reading music but im already 18 and I hope its not too late. I would be glad to get as many tips as I can in order to learn faster. Keep on doing your great work. pce

  • this piece is so beautiful, specially the way you play it, you're my inspiration Cambry!!!

  • thanks, your comment is always appreciated! glad to see that it inspires, how long have you been playing?

  • well only about 6 months now and I'm already trying the moment musical no. 4 lol. I should probably try something easier but the way you play it makes me want to learn it. I heard that it goes by itself but... I'm currently at the 2nd page :D

sorry my english is so bad and thank you so much for the reaply!!!!

  • Wow you're tackling some tough stuff pretty early! That's pretty crazy, how's it coming along? Your english is just fine, and message me if you want to know anything else or need help with the Rachmaninoff

  • subscribe to my channel also, that would be pretty cool

  • Very cool interpretation, thank you for this wonderfull version :-)

  • This etude always gives me shivers when it's played well. Thank you for you wonderful video. I honestly wish I could hear you play live.

  • you need more vigour to own it

  • Very impressive Scriabin - clearly, you have enormous empathy for his music

  • What kind of advice would you give on learning a piece of this difficulty? I can't imagine myself playing something this difficult. It's a little daunting to approach! You certainly play it well!

  • Thats amazing! its even more amazing you dont have to look at notes!

  • Da Rach's 3rd concerto is harder than the 2nd one.

  • How hard would you say the 2nd Rachmaninoff Concerto is compared to the third one?

  • shout-out to ma homie bustin' some keys on da piano got a jersey on and errthang!

that was a joke, i hope i didn't offend anyone.

truth is that's a very nice interpretation, just please cut down on the mistakes and play it a little faster but great overall.

  • ibclappin, cut down on the mistakes and play faster?? I think you're finding problems where they don't exist. I'd say this performance was almost as good as Horowitz's performances of the piece, and equally as exciting!

  • please please please play Chopins Ballad no.1 pleease

  • beautiful

  • this is the best performance you played out of all those videos that u posted. I think you should play some more scriabin because you might be a great scriabin player some day

  • You should definitely practice this piece more because you have what it takes to play it and more than likely play it very well. Good luck to you!

  • holy poo...wow

  • To PROGRESS2007: thats it you've said it yourself, that you don´t really understand the music.

And to CAMBRY: Im amaized, how well you performed it. I felt the flight of romantic russian soul, I think thats the way Scriabin wanted it to sound, or I should say, thats what it sounded like, when it was coming out of Scriabins heart. AMAZING!!!!

  • :) permit someone to smile

  • good stuff.....good stuff..... maybe even some more in the bass but still awesome.... it's not an easy piece

  • WOW thats amazing! you must have been playing for a really long time:P

  • fantastic! one of Scriabin's most beautiful pieces.

  • Again -respect to you Cambry... excellent work. Really looking forward to hear you live! -Sam

  • in this one, i don´t really understand the music, the elements of the melodic gestures are out of proportion the way you play them. Try to follow the music with your inner voice, it will show you the way...

Good job, but you definitely need a way to hold the tension as opposed to striking the keys.

  • that's the way the piece is composed

  • I need more Con Brio!

  • just like horowitz.....i loved it

  • i really like your playing

  • This is the first time I hav herd of Scriabin So another one from the romantic era. Gud Performance! Viva la Espana!!!

  • deep respect! very well played! I have a question, do you know Moment Musical no2 (rachmaninoff)? you have 4 and 3 on teh internet, but you should try 2, it's an amazing piece and I think you can play it.. that would be really cool! (it is my favorite piano piece.. so that's why I ask ;) )

  • Arg. I meant 1:35.

  • It's flawless to me... the build up from 2:35 up to that big accented chord is so dramatic. Well this whole piece is dramatic isn't it. That's why I've been having this sudden interest in it. So I have listened to it A LOT recently, and I've heard many interpretations, and that is why I can respect your genius in this video more thoughtfully than before. Tis an excellent performance. Truly is. 5/5 again.

  • Thanks Kyle, always glad to hear comments from you, i'll always be a fan of your playing. If this is a piece you really love too you should try it out, i'd be interested in hearing you play it, you bring a lot of energy into your pieces but also can play very well lyrically

  • great job! I really love your videos :-)

btw, you said that you'll start with other type of music,

    which type?

  • Hey romanexplozion, to answer your question I think i'm going to try jazz, rap, ragtime and video game music such as performed by Kyle Landry, scroll down he is the user "kyle556" or search him on YouTube

  • I had to play a piece called "Ballade" by Friederick Bugmuller (spellcheck); and I would love to hear you play that piece just ONE time.

  • absolutely amazing!!

  • EXCELENTE

  • Wow, this video finally plays

  • Amazing, man!! I sure hope someday I manage to play that piece. Thanks for that!!

  • not loading for me either

  • yeahi cant get this video to load and watch... the others ones load well i watched about 4 but this one is not loading for me...

  • I cant open this video

There's something happin when I try

    Just loading "ad infinitum"

  • Very nice interpretation! This is the most emotionally charged recording of this piece I have heard. Others tend to play it more mechanically. Beautifully done!

  • Ight cambry its nick, nice shirt lol!

  • haha thanks, only in New York can you find an authentic Michael Jordan football jersey, that's right... somehow theres a Jordan football jersey

  • My favorite Scriabin piece (I havn't heard many of his stuff though). This is like, FLAWLESS. I had to favorite.... It's just great. You playing with high quality is THE BEST!

  • thanks kyle, isn't flawless but it definitely makes my first one look like it never should have come out
