Her register is way below Tarja's (obviously) but she has the pipes to carry her voice with a metal band, which is probably one of the reasons she's in the band. But it doesn't really matter. What matters is that, regardless of who Tuomas wrote this song for, Anette took it and made it her own. I don't miss Tarja at all on this one.
Whats the bets that all dislikes for this video are Tarja fans that just cant learn to appreciate Nightwish since they got a new (and great!) singer. Guess what, she sings just as well as Tarja does and has just as much right to sing these songs as Tarja did.

@Hayacafrita Well I don't think Tarja sang nemo well live, the verses maybe, but definitely not the chorus. In the album version, she has this real high pitched voice in the chorus, but live, she sung with a deep voice..

My thing against Annette is not personal, is purely musical. A band like Nightwish can't afford a singer with bad technique.

Wow this sounds like an entirely different song of a different genre. When Tarja sang it, it was at the top of that genre and when Anette sings, it's at the top of this genre. Which genre you prefer is up to you. Dont flame Anette just because she's not Tarja. If Anette were the first one to sing this, then we'll think that, that is how it should've sounded like.
And btw, I am a huge fan of Nightwish, at least I was, until this one big mistake in 2005... I still listen to their albums, but only "Demo" - "Once"... the rest sucks... simple as this...

I think this performance is amazing, she has a very powerful and clean voice, it's not easy to sing this song and she and Tarja can both do it very well.
With Anette they're more power metal, not pop, and if I'm not mistaken that's exactly what the band wanted to be, symphonic power metal, not gothic/Dani-Filth-in-a-dress metal. Thankfully they're not the cheesy type of power metal, because if they were, I'd be playing Pokemon while listening to them.
@claycandy Usually I use a website to convert YouTube videos in mp3. You must write on google "youtube to mp3 coverter" and then you can find what you serach. With this kind of websites the audio is not so good, but I trying to find better sites/programs.
@LordCard People think just because Tarja was classically trained it automatically discount Anette. But in reality Anette has double the range of Tarja and, at least for me, Anette's belting fits a lot better than Tarja's voice. Anette brings these songs back to life, adding an energy to the band that has never been there before.

Tarja and Anette have his very own styles, they make Nightwish Grow up with them.

@Edazon92 Hm, double the range of Tarja would be 6 octaves, if the info is true that Tarja has 3. I don't think Anette has 6 octaves, but it would be reasonable to assume she has 3 as well.
Each person is entitled to an opinion and my would be "are you freakin kiddin me". There is NO comparison in NightWish with Tarja -vs- the new band. Whoever was at fault for the old Nightwish splitup is not important now but what is important is Anette will never be able to perform at Tarja's level nor will the band ever sound as good as what they once had. Nightwish should now be named just "Wish" because they are just 1/2 the band they used to be. Bummer!

This is my first Nightwish experience and it was amazing. Finally, I find symphonic metal with killer vocals that has the musicianship and songwriting skills to match, Heavy, smart, talented and passionate!
I like this version of "Sacrament Of Wilderness" generally Old songs are perfect with Tarja and new songs are perfect with Anette but she did a very good job interpretating this one.. And the guys rocked like always!
I think anette shouldn't sing old nightwish stuff because we tend to make comparisons and tarja is way better in this kind of songs, anette is good but tarja is in a higer level

@ThePoetsWolf09 Honestly I haven't got a clue, never really understood it. some songs with Tarja, like Nemo, sound very sweet in studio, as Annette does, but live is a very different thing. My thing against Annette is not personal, is purely musical. A band like Nightwish can't afford a singer with bad technique.

Wow this sounds like an entirely different song of a different genre. When Tarja sang it, it was at the top of that genre and when Anette sings, it's at the top of this genre. Which genre you prefer is up to you. Dont flame Anette just because she's not Tarja. If Anette were the first one to sing this, then we'll think that, that is how it should've sounded like.

With Anette they're more power metal, not pop, and if I'm not mistaken that's exactly what the band wanted to be, symphonic power metal, not gothic/Dani-Filth-in-a-dress metal. Thankfully they're not the cheesy type of power metal, because if they were, I'd be playing Pokemon while listening to them.

@claycandy Usually I use a website to convert YouTube videos in mp3. You must write on google "youtube to mp3 coverter" and then you can find what you serach. With this kind of websites the audio is not so good, but I trying to find better sites/programs.

@LordCard People think just because Tarja was classically trained it automatically discount Anette. But in reality Anette has double the range of Tarja and, at least for me, Anette's belting fits a lot better than Tarja's voice. Anette brings these songs back to life, adding an energy to the band that has never been there before.

Tarja and Anette have his very own styles, they make Nightwish Grow up with them.
in one hand we have the old songs and in the other the new ones theres like 2 worlds to explore in this band

@Edazon92 Hm, double the range of Tarja would be 6 octaves, if the info is true that Tarja has 3. I don't think Anette has 6 octaves, but it would be reasonable to assume she has 3 as well.

Each person is entitled to an opinion and my would be "are you freakin kiddin me". There is NO comparison in NightWish with Tarja -vs- the new band. Whoever was at fault for the old Nightwish splitup is not important now but what is important is Anette will never be able to perform at Tarja's level nor will the band ever sound as good as what they once had. Nightwish should now be named just "Wish" because they are just 1/2 the band they used to be. Bummer!
