  • what's with all the feckin cockney's?

  • The raw footage looks great! Gil Taylor was a brilliant DP. Luca was 100% correct to re-shoot the Greedo close-ups, the original footage was too poor to keep. Fascinating!

  • I remember reading the back of a toy jawa and it saying that they had black faces as they where covered with bugs

  • The creature at 1:01 is not a hoodless Jawa, it is a Ranat.

  • @lordauron yep your right, as the pointy nose woulds be sticking out of its hood

  • so we finally see a snaggle tooth 6:46

  • jawa without a hood at 1:01

  • Lol! Greedo sounds like a James Bond Super Villain!

  • THE BARTENDER SPEAKS WITH A COCKNEY ACCENT!!

  • @MalvadoZandin And so does the "death sentence" creature!

  • Is There A Coulor Version Of This?

  • 1:01 OMG THATS A HOODLESS JAWA

  • Playa Solo! Best version of Han evah!

  • but what's the difference between that scene and the one in the movie?

  • Could u upload Han and leias alternate kiss scene and luke and leias scene when they almost kiss? Please? The only clips of those scenes got deleted...

  • I wouldn't mind seeing the entire movie in black and white like this with no music. At least in this scenario I feel like it works really well. Han is such a badass

  • *disappointing anyone (typo)

  • I apologize for disappointing thinking that the rat at 1:01 is a Jawa. He's a Ranat named Reegesk. The Jawa is Het Nkik, who had bought a blaster and wanted to put up a fight against the Empire after they destroyed his clan and the sandcrawler. Reegesk snatched the power pak out of the blaster and Het ended up being shot dead by stormtroopers.

  • pre-retro glorification. That rugged and sloppy look actually creates a even darker film noir look, love to see the whole like this

  • @BuddhaMaster84 Exactly! At least with IV, V, and VI

  • When I was a kid I couldn't figure out what the bar brawler was saying, I thought he said ' We're wanted bin! I have the desolence on 12 systems'! LMAO

  • Last comment for all that watch this video.

    1:00 Jawas without hoods.

Anthony's voice is awesome, sounds cool.

    Obi-Wan's lightsaber is awesome too.

They fixed Evazan's hand error(the blood).

  • 2:19 Anyone else notice there was no blood error on the hand?

  • The only part I've seen of this before(besides the movie) is the picture of Han and his girlfriend.

  • I actually prefer Harrison Ford's performance in this version.

  • so thats what jawas look like!

  • What a trainwreck!

Good thing Richard Chew and his ilk tightened this thing up!

Those shots with Greedo were really lousy takes and I'm glad they were reshot.

I wonder, were the shots of the band added later as inserts?

  • This is the Zapruder film of the Star Wars trilogy, Han Solo shot first. Back and to the left, back and to the left.

  • Human flys? Jawas without hoods? Greedos British? Han fired first? Han has a girl friend and kisses her twice?!!! Plus jabba in another video is human? I learned a lot of new things in these videos!!

  • @jabba820 where is the unhooded jawas?

  • @jabba820 I have a feeling that someone could use these vids to create the 2012 Unspecial Edition. The reverse.

  • oh wow...it looks like a cross between Naked Lunch and Eraserhead

  • awsome

  • Evazan sounds like Lemmy Kilmister from Motorhead :D

  • This is golden. The thing about Star Wars' popularity, though, is they could release this if they wanted to. Each film could come in a 4 disk set, with HOURS of rough cuts, deleted footage, behind the scenes raw footage. And people would buy it like mad. Too bad George Lucas is in charge of it... Means we'll never see any of it.

Also, sure is nice to hear some of these original voices. Anyone else think the American dubs they did for minor characters were really terrible?

  • @DarknessOfFuturePast So true. I mean they did 4 disc editions to Ben-Hur, the Lord of the Rings films and Titanic and those were all full of special features. I'm not ranking the Star Wars films up there with those films but I agree that If anyone else was the creator of Star Wars we'd get loads of extras. Pity Lucas is such a git. There's so many never before scenes online for each film so a 4 or at least 3 disc edition could easily be done. It might happen with the Blu-Ray versions

  • @joevictor53 I wish I shared your naive optimism. Joevictor, my friend, the Blu-Ray's are going to be absolute shite. We're going to get a completely CGI'd Yoda in Phantom, Empire and Jedi, probably a CGI Jabba, more references that all Stormtroopers are Clones, less Han Solo killing anyone, and probably Alec Guinness doing back flips during his lightsaber battle...

What we WON'T get more of is rough cuts or raw footage.

But don't worry... Jar Jar Binks will still be completely intact. :D

  • @DarknessOfFuturePast Actually I was going to say knowing Lucas, he'd mess it up again but ran out of space in the comment. I wouldn't mind a CGI Yoda in Phantom but leave the rest. I'm pretty happy with my DVD versions of the films. Mainly as my copies of the original trilogy are the ones that have the original theatrical versions along with Lucas-ised versions. I remember seeing Yoda's "Fear leads to the dark side" clip from Phantom on the ROTS DVD special features redone with a CGI Yoda

  • @DarknessOfFuturePast actually, Luke's original intro from Return is gonna be extra on the DVD

  • @DarknessOfFuturePast The back flip was necessary, at least in Episode IV, don't you understand why(not a joke)?

  • I believe this is one of the monochromatic tests they ran

  • Anyone else prefer this Greedo?

  • HAN SHOT FIRST!!!!

  • @pyrogyra72 ...still don't understand the problem with Han shooting Greedo first. Of course he did. Greedo told him he was gonna kill him so, Han shot him. Pretty simple. No moral issue. Nothing.

  • Any chance of this showing up on the blu-ray release?

  • The creatures at 1:00 were jawas without hoods.

  • 1:15 what the fuck is that thing on the right?

  • where are the hoodless jawas?

  • it appears the woman with Han was turned on by bloody lightsabre dismemberment.

  • Hell yeah they should have kept the scene with Han & the chick ~ I always wondered why would a stud like him be sitting alone anyways ;P

  • George Lucas needs to re-release the ORIGINAL cuts of these movies! Instead of painting a bunch extra crap over a work of art, why won't he show us his original draft?

  • greedoa voice lol

  • where are the jawas with no hoods? if your talking about at 5:22 that species is called a chandra-fan

  • omg! go to 2:28!

  • I'll admit, when Han smokes Greedo at the end - original voice actor or not - I cheered.

  • What movie is this from?

  • @fortehlulz9999 Ummmm....... Star Wars?

  • LMFAO al that.. he threw Luke effortlessly xD no doubt that's a sign he can be raped with ease.

  • this is cool stuff, at least for us diehard fans....thanks for the upload!!

  • haha, Obi was looking for a cheer or an applause after that....and no one really cared...lol

  • well, even though that was extremely boring..I'd be lying if I said I didn't watch the whole thing

  • It’s like MILK! Now that’s original! But what Lucas is doing to this MILK isn’t original and he has gone too far to piss off millions of original STAR WARS fans, with his constant MILKING us off as if we’re fucking COWS in field! I’ve had a fucking enough! I know where the line is drawn, and I know when to stop and cease buying STAR WARS when I’m getting ripped off.

  • "I'm pignose and this is my brother in law scott he's from hoth"-----"I don't know why they call it hoth, they should call it coldth"

  • @MST720 okay settle down :]

  • @Necromonger27 lawlz

  • where the hell did you get this?

  • Great to see Han doing what he does best!

  • I don’t think they’d like another killing in here.

    They’d hardly notice. Get up!

Yes I bet you have! BANG ZAP FUCKING GREEDO MOTHERFUCKER!

HAN SHOT FIRST FUCK THE BLURAY IF HAN DOESN’T SHOOT FIRST ITS NOT WORTH BUYYING! KEEP THE BLURAY LUCAS!

  • @EmpireLS56KW I bought the original series, seconds before Lucas took it off the market to replace it with the NEW versions. Thank gawd.

  • @HoneyNVinegar Where they VHS or laserdisc first edition originals?

FUCK LUCAS Ironic isn’t it that Lucas has turned the original fans against him! He’s chances of redeeming himself are almost 0 to win the original fans back. He’s had his chance to do this, so FUCK HIM!

  • These are the film's original Raw's. You can notice it by the lack of SFX's, Background music, and how easily you can hear the sound of their steps and all of the other accidental noise.

  • The creature at 2:36 appears in an old comic book version of Star Wars I had as a kid as JABBA THE HUTT. Wow. This footage is really cool.

  • ha! greedo with a brit'sh accent

  • cor blimey guvna, i got tha death sentence on twelf systums. lube job while you wait..

  • I love how these characters are done by British actors. Then later dubbed with "gangster" sounding American voices.

  • @pixelsmack Most of the actors were British and with there own voices. Most of the Empire was British! The British Empire LOL.

  • could this be footage from a work print?

  • lol at the British accents.

  • okay everyone who thinks it isnt a jawa is wrong it is ive read books with illustrations of how they actually look and lucas said it in an interview theyre rat like creatures with bright eyes 1:01 look at it

  • @alltheway186 but it still has its hood on? if youre talking about the creature in the centre, his head is too outwards and big surely that cant be a jawa?

  • I always laugh when Obi Wan says :"This little one's not worth the effort" What a slap in Luke's face..lol!!!

  • Example of how much the final edit saved the film

  • At least Han wasn't kissing Greedo.

  • Han was trying to get some butt there.

  • The cockney accents of the barkeeper and Dr Evezan crack me up! In fact, is that Brick Top from Snatch doing his voice?

  • 1:01 Hoodless jawa

  • there is no hoodless jawas

  • I think this is pretty close to what George Lucas meant when he went back to the vaults in the 90s to re-master the films they were all green and terrible looking. Amazing how nice they look now.

  • OMG its the FLY 2:40

  • This would be a completely different movie if that chick hitched a ride with Han. She looks like the type to knock Leia on her ass.

  • Don't matter if Solo shot first, Greedo will shot, by the laws of the Tatoo system it's self defense. Case Closed.

  • Damn this awesome!

  • Going Somewhere Solo??? Wow The Gayest English Man in the world !!!

  • Sorry abute the mess lol

  • Sorry 2:36

  • I think the unhooded Jawa is at 2:37

  • @Soteria17 No I think they are at 1:02 because there is a hooded Jawa talking to them there

  • And where are those Jawas with their hoods off?

  • always knew han was playa

  • Seems like a very clunky rough edit. I think the editing team of Chew, Hirsch, et al made a big difference to this film; otherwise it could really have been a drag.

  • This is freaking amazing. It must be from the original cut that is locked up at George Lucas's ranch and only a few people have seen parts of it. I would love to see the whole movie like this.

  • bricktop talkin to luke?

  • Solo gettin down

  • This was so cool. Did you see Han pimpin it up in the booth? Why did they lay that crappy ADR voice over Wuherr in the final cut? The actual "no droids" line was delivered so much more convincingly and naturally, that was great. Goddamn George Lucas. He was probably like "Oh, it sounds too natural..."

  • great job

  • It`s always nice to see this old scenes.

  • The script is just like the comic book version that I'm reading! I love this old stuff. They should put the old versions of the scenes in Epi IV on a DVD. I'd so buy it!

  • I think I saw them but could someone tell me where the down hooded Jawas are?

  • I don't know I like it without the band playing

  • I wish the audio hadn't gone off for a while, but there were surely a whole lot of views in this scene that I never thought were even there until now. I love it when REAL, not fake, SW deleted scenes are found for everyone to watch.

  • why does the audio just randomly go out?

  • At 2:18 when the light saber cuts off the arm there is blood, light sabers are supposed to cauterize (sp) when they cut according to the novel.

  • Yeah, it's just something they hadn't decided at the time, beside that was in the final.

  • maybe he punched him in the nose, or scratched him with girly nails.

  • @racefan32 Maybe that guy had dodgy Blood which runs easily.

  • Awesome!

  • at 2:36 the creature with the greedo looking guy I believe is the original concept of Jabba the hutt or at least what he looked like in the early marvel comics. If you notice he signals Yak face who in turn signals Greedo, or maybe I am just reading to much into it.

  • From what I've read in interviews with Lucas, the original design for Jabba was a large, stop-motion puppet that was to be overlaid onto the scene between Han and Jabba but the FX didn't work so they discarded it. The comics were done off a screenplay and not the final film and they used a random creature mask for Jabba because the design wasn't finalized.

  • Good to know. I have actually read some of those early drafts when it was going to be Deke Starkiller and Han was going to be a big green alien or something. I amazing how many of the names in the trilogy were different characters at dfferent times.

  • I also think it would be cool if Lucas let someone make one of those early draft screenplays verbatim. Would be like and Elseworlds Star Wars. But I doubt that would happen though they did make figures of the Mcquarrie original character concepts.

  • @kwandomando : Hey, I just want to confirm your memory or Jabba. I really do think that's supposed to be him. And I really do think that you're seeing him signal Yak Face, then Greedo, because Greedo is standing RIGHT BEHIND Obi-Wan. Cool! Very Cool!

  • 6:22

    look his hand haha

  • I mean Greedo's hand at 6:23

  • haaa all the british accents. its better

  • @sharkybushbaby Yeah, better than the funny southern redneck racist voice of the bartender in the final cut

  • His voice didn't sound southern, unless he was from southern Milwaukee or some place. Anyway, I think that voice worked better for that particular character.

  • he's from england

  • I'm talking about the voice used in the movie.

  • oh right yeah

  • I think they should've kept the girl "making out" with Han in the final cut...

  • You can tell this is the "early" version of Greedo... (where his mouth doesn't move when he talks). In the final cut, they finally came up with a mouth that moved a bit when talking... This is really pretty cool to see... why didn't George include this kind of stuff in the extras on DVD???

  • The creature that you see at 1:03 is NOT a Jawa without his hood. This same creature is in the final cut... it's just a "rat" type creature. I don't believe that George EVER showed Jawas without their hoods on... even in these early version scenes.

  • I really like this whole scene.

  • Han's got some action @ 2:30

  • i actually like this more than the real scene

  • He throws the coins at the bartender a bit oddly towards the end. Never noticed that before.

  • Imagine if the whole movie looked like this

  • HAHA!!! Han Solo was makin out with a chick

  • Han definatly shot first.

  • Han was the only one who shot

  • @Captmiloman Whats the big deal about who killed who :P

  • @kortland12 You can't change the original like that. It was a bad, bad, bad move on Lucas' part.

  • @HoneyNVinegar Well maybe Han derserves to be shot :)

  • @Captmiloman That's been MY motto since that scene was changed.

  • Fascinating shot of Harrison Ford snogging someone in the corner. Also, the guy who runs off to tell the Imperial troops and Han Solo's "nice work old man" comment. Several of the lines are different, and you can hear they're being read in a studio and overdubbed.

  • the scene with han solo was in the novelization, but when i read it, i thought she was a twi'lek

  • I love the Diamond Geezer at the bar, it sounds like Star Wars the Guy Ritchie version.

  • Also I saw the same footage play twice in one scene

  • VERY early cut, and no overdubbing had taken place yet. Hence Greedo's voice and many other oddities in the video. This is from the rough cut George made himself; there's a reason this scene turned out so much better - v2 of the cut was done with the help of others.

However, this is completely legit. Hope I've helped :)

  • I'm not so sure, mostly because there are shots and scenes with some of the characters (like the long-haired women) which I've never seen before and which couldn't possibly have been faked many years later. Think it's a very rough cut. I'd be curious to know where the poster got it from.

  • Its real its from the Behind the Magic CD or whatever from the 90s.

  • They were overdubbed later

  • George Lucas said that they did voice overs after in alot of scenes

  • Interesting. Loved the big fly-dude. he was awful.

  • cool

  • I didnt see the jawa

  • i think thats them in 1:03

  • i dont think those are jawas anyways. the jawa is next to them on the left.

  • acctually jawas are furry so that is them without the hood
