@bitchlor Eh, a piano and musical ears... The C that is in the middle of the piano, is the middle C (C4) so you start counting from that. Of course, you need to know a lot about the artist to know where you can search for interesting notes.

Leona is an AMAZING Vocalist. She's just kind of boring in my opinion. Singers like Xtina, Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson have that IT factor and presence. Even Mariah was never that best "entertainer" but she had presence.

@weykmanfr Yes, but vocal range doesn't mean about type of voice. Mariah is a soprano, but her low register is strong. And as we can hear Leona sounds the best in middle belting range and upper head voice (below C#6). She could be a higher mezzo, but for me it isn't soprano. Anyway, I could be confused.

@weykmanfr Okay, I see. Yes, her low register is really weak and airy and often it's just a whisper (she often sucks even at F#3, F3 and that's why I don't think so she could hit effortless D3 like the studio one).

No, no. Mariah's speaking voice is more like contralto, but her low register othen seems forced (it's strong, but it doens't sound so effortlessly). And let's look at her belted notes. They seem more healthy than low and they are very light and bright, so she couldn't be a contralto.
