Dixie will be greatly missed by all that loved her work. Her character on "Designing Women" was sexy, candid, firey and very unassuming. Being southen myself Julia Sugarbaker and I both got the same nickname..........Terminator. We love you Dixie.
I mean it when I say that at the time when i saw her acting she came across as the most ladylike elegant classy sophisticated confident woman.
I think it's why when i went to Atlanta in 1998 for the first time I expected to see a lot of Dixie Carters and why I had such intrigue in the Southern US.
RIP gracious lady. You are gone too soon. You will be remembered fondly
If every crack cocaine user made it to the age of 70 mahy more people would be doing it! Begoneyoubum..... why dont YOU BE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are a idiot! She wasnt a drug user. How pathetic can you get!
Never really met her in person, I just always knew her as the crazy lady living down the street from my grandfather who never stopped building on her house, kinda like Sarah Winchester. Maybe the house is done now.
as a southerner, i was proud that dixie carter and the other ladies of designing women helped braek stereotypes of southern women being the daisy dukes and ellie mae types. even flo of alice was a stereotype.
I loved and will always love Dixie! She was the bomb as Julia Sugarbaker and an excellent very talented singer and actress. I will miss her very much. May you rest in peace Dixie and always be with us in spirit. You were the best!
What a great lost she was a wonderful talent. AND to everyone fighting on here please stop and stop taking cheap shots at one. Life is to short for so much hate. This is suppose to be about Dixie Carter.
Really sad. About 2 months ago I visited All Saints Episcopal Church in Los Angeles and just a few rows up were Dixie and Hal. They looked really great and happy together...:) She'll be missed.
Jesus Christ.. Another one... I will miss her... She worked with Robert Culp on greatest American Hero where she was an agent and it was the one time Maxwell wanted to help her stay out of jail... they worked so well together....
@MrDoublehappy You knnow what asshole... you suck and Gary Coleman is a nowhere actor that does not diserve to be famous... She has had more fame and respect then YOu will ever have... So Show some respect for her as that could be your parents on the news... Now go away you PIG
@williamkatt81 ahhh dont be sore, on gary coleman sites i put that i hated diffrent strokes and colemans acting ... then i go on to say bring back william katt now there was an actors actor, man and you wana see the hate mail i get for that prank .... none at all.
@MrDoublehappy Well I do not like that little shit... The guy can't even admit that he has anger issues.... I for one will be glad that guy is gone when it is his time... As to dixie... She was a classy lady not like that other dark haired chick on that show....
She looked so great even up to the time she got sick and died..

I was shocked when they said that she died. But that last interview that I saw her in she looked very thin so she was sick but didn't make it public.
