As people say, this is one of the best soundtracks to a computer game ever. The other would be then the Heroes of Might and Magic III, the soundtrack to the The Elder Scrolls 4 : Oblivion and the russian game The Knight's Tale (as well its sequel The Armoured Princess). Would love to hear about other OSTs that I missed..
I remember when I was 7 years old and played the battle.net edition. i got it for xmas, looked at the cover and was like "pirates vs. goblins.. wtf?" and then I played it and was immediately sucked into the strategy genre. :D 12 years later, here I am playing WoW and enjoying the Blizzard experience. And it all started when my parents got me a random PC game from the discount cargo. :P
I'm sure we are all like "WTF?! Alterac betrayed us? D: No Wai!" when we first found out.
Your spies report that the Alliance has been betrayed. Lord Perenolde, sovereign ruler of Alterac, has been working with the Orcs since the beginning of the war.
There were a lot of things I didn't like about Warcraft 3, but removing ships was easily their biggest mistake. The game had its redeeming qualities, but just wasn't as good as its predecessors. XD
@iamtheshim I love this game's music. But no man, no. There are full 100 people orchestras out there who compose for games, and they're NOT crappy ambience. Try Silent Hill 2's music for instance, 20 violins, 1 drummer, a few bells and keyboard/ synthesisers, and 1 lead electric guitar. Now if they played this, than we would all explode.
Due to your position as regional commander of the southern defense forces, Lord Terenas commands that you raise an outpost in the Hillsbrad foothills.
no this is tides of darkness, I remember it clearly! I even downloaded the game again, its goddamn epic. What happened to naval battles in Warcraft III?
must agree the ships in frozen throne are dire compared to wc2
The battles are nowhere near as exciting and you have to find a neutral goblin shipyard and hire them. You dont even have to fight to defend your docks or oil platforms. Ships also come out instantly which doesnt feel right. The ships also dont have the same impression of power as they did in wc2. Really boring
I remember battleships/juggernauts would kill just about any unit in one hit, maybe two hits to kill a destroyer or catapult. However they had to watch out for Deathknight's castingTornado's as they would fuck up any amount of ships near the coast.

The Cyrillic writings at the human briefing screen was awesome:
Тхе Орцич кхордес вере лед буи Огрим Доомхамер то конкуер тхе хуман ланд оф Лордаерон.
Анд со тхе баттле бегонс...

Haha, what a goofy transliteration!
"The Orcish hordes were led by Ogrim Doomhammer to conquer the human land of Lordiron.
And so the battle begins..."

War3 expansion have Naval battles, when u are with the night elves. but without the expansion u can make ships with editor
MarkPanghy 2 years ago
I know, but it's stupid as hell, you can't even build a shipyard, you have to find it in the map. lame....

I remember upgraded battleships and Juggernauts would fuck your shit up if you had buildings and units near the shore.

Not only that, there was basically no sea battles to really speak of in WC3.
WC3 and FT was way to focus on heroes.

Yeah it's a shame, the naval combat in WC2 was good. Battleships <3

if u dont make your own map where u ad shipyards to every race builder, its easy rly.
But it still sucked without the oil.
