Abba are my favvourite band of all time ,and I have all their albums so I will say after lots and lots of listening here is my opinion of their best all time album so here it is My favourite is The Visitors , it is so grown up and classy it is full of of great music great melody it is is what I would call ein meisterwerk
LOL, what are you guys talking about B-sides. ABBA never had a B-side, only 2 A-sides ;-) Great song, great voices, ABBA makes nowadays bands seem childish.
'Should I Laugh Or Cry' is one of my favourite ABBA songs. It has excellent vocals by Frida & Agnetha and the backing track is wonderful and its a wonderful B-Side to 'One Of Us'.
good song, at one point it turns to the great abba progression which they use a lot like in their mexican feeling ones and in take a chance on me, MAKES ME GROOVE
Thankyou for this beautiful song - I was a child when "The Visitors" came out - it took me another decade to realise what a very special album it is...
This song, it brings some memories, everything from treason to losses. This song almost describes it all, and that is why this song is so sad and beautiful! :( I still wonder why this song isnt showing up in the radar. :S
This was not on the original album The Visitors until it's re release on CD I believe or the Australian re release, Can't remember exactly. It was originally on the B side of One of Us and also included in their first comprehensive collection called The Singles: The First Ten Years, released in the Fall of 82 (Nov.)
The Day Before You Came was the first release off The Singles and had some success in Europe
This song is one of there best...i am going through a breakup right now, listening to this everyday.Abba's work got better in those last few years, ive loved them since i was 6 years old...myself and my good pal david are forever bonded with there music:)
Yes, superb song. Frida at her best, angry, eery and with a touch of rough cynicism that Phil Collins pick up on for her solo album. Her is range is amazing. And to think that she also sung the melancholy "Like and Angel Passing though my Room" around the same time.
My favourite ABBA songs Always preferred it to One of Us, even though it was the B side to that single. Frida's voice sounds at it's best here. I have never tired of listing to this, even after buying it on vinyl originally, 28 years ago!...
This song always sounds as fresh as the day I first heard it. I remember how exciting it was to hear something new from them at the time. God her voice is PERFECT!!!!!!!
That's not possible unless it's some weird multi track bootleg. This song wasn't included on the original "Visitors " album until it was remastered and re-issued in 1997 and 2001. The song wasn't released as a single until Dec, 1981 and was the B-Side of " One of Us ".
The album " Super Trouper " was released on Nov 3rd, 1980.
@bladesmark2 that correct . on wikipedia article it says : "Despite the somewhat depressing context and reservations by manager Stig Anderson, "One of Us" was released as the 1st single from The Visitors, coupled with the NON-ALBUM track "Should I Laugh or Cry"".
this has to be one of the best unheard abba songs - every time I hear it I'm reminded how all the songs that weren't charted are simply THE BEST! apart from SOS, hehehehe....then again I feel the same about ELAINE and CRAZY WORLD check em out!
Wow... it's been a few months since I've listened to Abba. After looking back through songs I remembered why I love them. I love them because of the music... especially this ones. I will always remember I am a proud fan of Abba, even though I moved on to other artists.
I especially love the songs near Super Trouper album and The Visitors. I like the mysteriousness :)
Remember....they never " officially " broke up.....they just decided to take a break! They tried to record a 9th album, but decided that they had no energy to do it and put everything on hold. Thanks for looking in.
the synth work in this song is...priceless! they really were masters at creative vocals. utilizing the voice almost as additional instrument parts. I'm only 23 and have been in awe of them since i was 13!! when other kids were listening to britney spears, i was blasting all the rare ABBA b-sides
Everybody has heard all the classics and they are great, but if you want to hear real gems, the B-sides and seldom heard rare songs are the way to go. I've been a fan since the early 70's and have over 280 videos of their early, mid, and late works!
It was a very good sensation i felt when i heard SHOULD I LAUGH OR CRY for the first time, as i use to say... it was love at first sight! It's an incredible song! Thanks FRIDA, Tusen tack ABBA! FRANCISCO GOMES FEITOZA -BRAZIL
Not at all! This is one of my all time very favorite songs, and its lead is Frida, like so many of my favorites. I think you just want everyone to agree with your taste.
If you think the lyrics are weird it is because you have never met a man like the one she is singing about :) The lyrics are so intelligently written and really captures how a relationship can go wrong so well!!
I know you have nothing to do with it, but most of your videos aren't available outside of the US. I'm in France and It really pisses me off. Utube is going into so much BS with the copyright crap it's stupid, this is a swedish group for god's sake!. WTF is wrong with these people? There!! I just HAVE to say it.
Good afternoon Anita. It's alway nice to hear from you. Are you ice skating yet? We don't know whether to be warm or cold around here. One day we have warm weather, the next day it's below freezing.
Hey:D Good to hear your familiar "voice" No ice skating yet, but hopefully soon:D It has been mild here, but today it`s colder, beautiful weather! No snow, but that does not matter:D I was on a party yesterday and now I am going to my parents house together with my sisters for a turkey dinner; yummi!!! I am in a good Abba mood, having some time off from studies and work! How about you? In a good Abba mood? :D
A shame that they did not include this track on The Visitors album. Switch if with Two For The Price Of One (bad!) and the album would have been perfect. The lyrics are dark and personal as the other songs. Beautiful!
This would have definitly fit the 1981"Visitors" album better than two tracks.."Two For The Price Of One" and Head Over Heels". This song plus "The Day Before You Came" would have made this a very complete, mature, last ABBA studio album. Thanks for your comment.
Hi Jim, thank you for all so many great vids! I'm a Frida fan, too. About this song, I can't quite understand its meaning...would someone please explain a little bit for me? Thanks a lot!:)
the meaning of this song. . . hmmm (ohh, by the way, Im danish so forgive my english) she is singing about a guy who is full of hot air. he nags her, and never sees his own faults, and she just don`t care anymore. he is so redicoulous, and she does not know whether to laugh or cry about it :)
This song is exceptionally gorgeous, and shows the graceful restraint in Frida's phrasing of every lyric.
I agree with Madrocker1954: I don't understand why Benny and Bjorn didn't like this song...but then again, just look at how after 26 years, "Just Like That" has never been released...the demo of "Just A Notion," which would have proven to be a terrific song.
Another way to look at it, though...at least "Should I Laugh Or Should I Cry?" has seen the light of day in legitimate release.
In the U.S. it was also the B side to WAISAD. Should I Laugh Or Cry was on the album I LOVE ABBA with Cassandra in 1984. I LOVE ABBA LP was aimed for the U.S. market,
It is the B-Side of the 'One Of Us' single ... personally I think this song should have been put on the original Visitors album in 1981 as it is one of Frida's finest vocal performances
Why does the title say that this song is from the visitors album?I have the visitors album & it certainly isn't on there but i believe it is from the super trouper album.
The Visitors album, ABBA's last studio album, was released in 1981. It was re-released in 1997 and 2001 with 4 bonus tracks. My CD is from 2001 and this song was one of the bonus songs. The others were: "The Day Before You Came, Under Attack, Cassandra, and Should I Laugh Or Cry. If your Visitors is a 1981 release, this song was not on it originally. Super Trouper was released in 1980, and although re-released 2 times, Should I Laugh Or Cry was never on it.
The voices of these two beautiful women blended together so well, that we may never see it in another group again, faint copies at best. They were and always will be ABBA! Unfortunately, the only way will probably get to see them again is if the RRHoF gets it RIGHT! Thanks for looking in.
Frida could sing any kind of music with relative ease. Something that's not seen in many female singers today. They are way to tied up into their type of music to even feel easy about trying. One would even say they might be afraid to try! Thanks for watching.
Too bad this one seems to get lost in the shuffle sometimes. It's a true gem and has one of the best ABBA choruses from the late years. They definitely had not lost their touch...
There last studio album...what a pity too! They had come all this way and apparently saved their best(IMHO)for last. We all get tired in our own way, and it was just their time. They went out on their terms, instead of hanging on. To bad more groups today don't follow their lead. Thanks for looking in.
Benny and Bjorn didn't like this song, which is mystifying. I guess they would've needed another song for Agnetha to even out the lead vocal duties. But, this is another song that might've made for a great A-side rather than getting lost as a B-side.
I'm sorry for the blurry pics, but you can tell i've come a long way since this vid! Please, stop by, I posted 2 songs last nite. One is a Frida, Aggy song that i split between both gals, Same song, 2 beautiful women! Thanks, Jim
No, but thank you, I'll go and have a look. Thanks!!! Great videos too. Love them. Do you have anymore undeleted songs. I'm trying to find them all. Thanks!!!
I'll tell ya Shawn, yes it's Frida, not Agnetha, but I think this is my best one yet! I just think the song is way cool! I don't know how many times i've listened to it.
Same here Jim. I love a rythmic beat done well. Along with the lyrics which I'm always a sucker for this song is just aces. Oh and of course the Classy Lassy Frida.:)
Thanks Shay! I gotta tell ya, this is a great song. I would be insane to do this with anyone but Frida. Boy, people would be knockin at my door for sure!
A Frida tribute by Jim? Is this the Bizarro world? A lot of new pics for me and I Thank You for everything. Your happiness and enjoyment is infectious Jim.:)

The VISITORS album was very Frida friendly, she had lead on a lot of tracks. Some of my fav Frida songs came from this album.

Have you seen my latest video by Frida? It's "Stilla Natt" (Silent Night) sang opera style. Great song, great lady! Thank you for the nice comment.

Jim if you haven't already done it check out the subject matter in the lyrics. It makes this song hit even harder. Tears at the Heart...

Probably not Angel, like i said, i love this song and why show Agnetha pics, this song is all Frida!
ji61m 4 years ago
you sure Agnetha didn't do backing vocals?
angel585 4 years ago
I'm sure she did, but I was referring to Frida doing lead vocals, that's why there's only Frida pics.
