yeah tantalus is steeper and less room.. only two lanes.. 1 up and 1 down.. and i used to play this game online.. i'd always be drifting with a lambo.. faster then slowing down..

I know, I hate how TDU makes the whole island of Oahu and it's not even close. The only thing they ever got right while making the game was the shape of the island. HUGE FAIL.

agree with TrevorNL : one of the hardest challenge in TDU...I was always racing with Crysler ME-FOUR TWELVE..but...I was always pissed off..because the problem for me in this challenge was the traffic..wewant to be quick but we can't...but at the end I won by 1 sec with the Ford GT...I was like  ...OMG I won...my last race ...very cool..now the cars are cheaper..like the mclaren F1 that was 10 million is now 1 million and I just need 3 cars to have them all... now I do drift...

no kidding!!!! this was my last race to do for tdu, and tried 1000 differenet cars, and still cant do it....my best time is like 8:13 or something. I have no clue what im gonna do, just move on i guess... I can make the 7:30 easily, but i always have less then 10 damage when im all done which adds like 40 seconds and I hate it!!!!!!!

Using a wheel this challenge is actually quite easy. I've only ever failed it once. I done it in under 7 minutes in the F40, K'segg CCR, ME Four twelve, & Cadilac Cien. Remember...you have brakes for a reason, use them. The more carelesss you drive the longer it will take you. Avoid cars, and take corners carefully, there is plenty of time to finish the race and it's easily done if your not stupid.

Drifting is slower than what you were doing... if you're aiming to complete a stage and want to compete with the best in the world then your tires should only very rarely break traction.

Not saying drifting can't be fast, but it has been proven by physics that it's not AS fast, also it's far riskier.

thanks for the clue about the right turn that could have slammed me against the opposing traffic and cost me time and driving points. I avoided that too by turning earlier than the GPS suggestion and won after about the 100th try with 7:20. Woohoo!!!

After a while, you stop daring because that Driving gauge is the root of all evil. Maybe there was enough room, but it's not worth 30 seconds of Penalties by swiping one of the cars to find out. He only had seconds left at the end anyway... a car hit would have cost him the run.

ugh, best money way is get 2 champion and do "180mph in downtown traffic" at bottom of map. 75k each win only about 13-15 seconds and u can make 1 mill. in 10 minutes or less. I did that and now ima ace so i don't bother wit money casue i got all cars. =]

your in luck man, this whole game is free roam, you choose when you want to do missions, you can free roam for as long as you want, the best way to get money is the car delivery, especially if you dont lose points, thats the easiest way to get money

no it isn't :) the easiest way to get money is repeating "speed" challenges. the best one is for A-B class somewhere in the middle of map. you just take tuned up saleen s7, rotate 180 degree, start from the 5th gear and in 13secs you get 70k ;)

Tantalus is a b*tch. I never used to be able to do it in under 07:25, but recently smashed that in an S3 CCR in 06:53....awesome. I totally agree with celt67, this race is about driving very fast but as carfully as possible. Sometimes, faster isnt always quicker

This game is fantastic - it really is NXID. Do yourself a favor now that it's even cheaper. Between races and extra activities it is a blast - and you have free access to the entire island (even Pearl Harbor and Aloha Stadium) and can cruise and buy sweet rides.

Although the car in this vid looks like someone crapped on metal - there are plenty of fine Chevrolets in the game. Buy-up.

I hate those fucking jeeps. I did this in the Merc-Benz CLK DTM AMG...I found the A=class cars too fast for the corners, and the Merc has brilliant handling. To anyone struggling with this challenge.. the secret isn't speed, it's handling, patience and NOT hitting anything.

If you could answer a couple questions that would be great... 1st: Can you just drive around for fun, (not do any racing?) 2nd: Does damage occur on your car, 3rd: Do you have to buy each car, or can you just choose a car to drive for fun? Ending up with the car in the guardrail is a good way to not finish Tantalus.

At 00:28 there is even the ticking sound when the points go down.

You guys are going to be pissed but i was attempting this challenge for like 4 hours straight right? An i was about to lose my marbles and tip off my rocker because of how uncontrolling mad i was getting at my hoopty ass murcielago when, all of the sudden, the last chance i took at it, it glitched and there were NO CARS ON THE ROAD. NO PEESTRIAN CARS. I beat it in 6:45 with 200 driving pts left. I shit you not.

this challenge is easy in a gallardo.

the slr works best on this sort of course with the driving aid turned down a notch or two. too much grip on driving aid like it is here...

I have an old sidewinder steering wheel without force feedback.

I did hit 2 cars on this run, but fortunately they did not register as collision. Only front and rear of the car do, and for some strange reason the side doesn't count as collision.

Take it easy in the beginning and don't be afraid to use the brakes.

Crashing into stuff usually results in more time penalty.

BTW: crashes only seem to register from your front or rear. I did scrape 2 cars on this run, but both did not register as a crash.
