  • We have a similar trap. If you toss the trap in the pond the cats are much calmer after about 5 minutes. Much easier to remove.

  • wait a second...IT'S A TRAP!

  • at the end when they thought it was funny but it was mean it is ok to do one at a time

  • @kateblue555 how was that mean? Do you think the kittens would have followed a friendly invitation to get vaccinated??

  • @xaipirina I have yet to meet a cat that likes needles, so the answer is no.

  • @feriwarlock my son does not like needles either, still I get him up to date with his vaccinations.

  • that was cute. especially the running around after the trap was sprung.

  • xaiprina- it puts into question te irresponsible variety of pet keeping. folks who do not get their pets fixed and let them outside are 90% of stray cat and dog prob.

  • save time, just submerge cage in water deep enough to cover it for 30 seconds. peaceful end to their miserable disease spreading lives. you only perpetuate the problem with this sappy misuse of resources like a vet, surgery or shots. Australia has a solid feral cat solution, shoot on sight and post the carcasses so other cats can see them. That's effective, yours is not.

  • @lingbopper88 that puts into question any kind of pet keeping ... I really do not like your solution

  • I bet they badly hissed at you

  • @zhengjdc in the beginning, yes. but later they would cuddle up.

  • I cringe, but you DID have them all neutered, yes? To release without is rather pointless....

  • @AnywhereButHere09 we had them all vaccinated at age 3months . and neutered / spayed at the appropriate age

  • The two that were released should have gone to a shelter. Kittens are readily adoptable. Anyway, very good of you to have them all treated, spayed and neutered.

  • @barkingspider403 the 'two that were released' still happily live in the area they were born, with their mom and they are being fed. So we did not see the reason to give them to a shelter.

  • It's funny to see the reaction of the kittens when the gate closes!

  • 4 kittens failed !!!! Great !!!!

  • @hancocklicata 4 kittens now vaccinated and safe .. see it this way.

  • awhh they are so scared im trying to catch the cat by bribing it with tuna i hace been petting this cat for 3 years and it still wont come into my house i live in a flat is there any way and shes too fast she getting a bit slimmer too im very worried as i saw her today eating garbage it hurt me bad is there anything i can do please help

She does have a owner but is not very good as she got a new cat and well ya\'know left the other cat so right not i would call her a stray

  • @RimaaChan I did a similar thing with our first cat ... and she responded very well to bribes (turned out later that she was pregnant and looking for a place to have her litter) ... If you are able to pet the cat, you should be able to pick her up and just bring to your flat. Then bring it to the vet and have it checked out ... sad story that the owner left her ...

  • im going to dislike this because you sound chines and i hope you did not eat those kittens

  • @SNmxicanninja what is 'chines' ? And of course we did not eat them ... they lived a few happy years with us and when we had to move to country where they would have gotten rabies, we left them with friends who have a nice big garden ...

  • @SNmxicanninja i am not chinese and I do not eat kittens ... silly comment ... i am going to dislike it :D

  • We have a lot of trapped cats come in (I volunteer at our local shelter) with facial injuries from the traps. I've seen even the smallest (less than 6 weeks old) feral kittens come in with their noses torn up from trying to escape. In fact, our Katrina rescue cat has a permanent scar on her nose from being trapped. They really do panic, and it just breaks my heart, but there isn't much else you can do.

  • @mrblanche one of ours also got a small nick on the nose, but as you said ... it is either that, or they do not get vaccinated, a permanent home and free food ...

  • I guess you had great pleasure in their total fear is what is being objected to by everyone. But we are glad you took them to a vet and had them s/n and vaccinated.

  • @Merrywms the laughter that you hear is the natural reaction of a 5 year old kid ... of course we did not take pleasure in their panic .. and i wish I had the video running longer, as it shows that the cats very quickly became quiet / fatalistic (that's just how cats are) ... and after all that was done, they lived 2 wonderful years with us and were very happy to never have to be cold, fight with other stray cats and get free food.

  • I once caught a feral kitten. She bit me and drew blood but amazingly I got her 100% tame in under a week!! She became a very trusting pet who I could do just about anything with! I even named her Feral.

  • Love the Trap!!!

  • what the trap name? and can i buy it from Amazon.com

  • I have a Mom and a Tom and five kittens I am trying to capture. The kittens will be easy but not the parents.I tried throwing turkey in a kennel and could have gotten all the kittens but the parents were too leery to go in. I want to get all at once or at least the adults before the kittens. At this point I have a relatively small colony of 12 cats. . . .

  • you guys are sick for laughing i almost cried watching this these kittens are scaried out of there mind and how could you put this on youtube? and you replayed it? i cant believe i actially saw this

  • @MrHayleygirl so i guess you'd prefer that those kittens are going through life without vaccination and being spayed / neutered.

  • @xaipirina no im saying why would they film that i understand what they are doing but they film it and laugh at it i have kittens in my back yard and i would never do this to them i mean i would not watch, laugh, and film this and especially not replay in slow motion

  • @MrHayleygirl it was funny, its not like they were hurt. and yes i am a cat lover.

  • Great job. I loved the instant replay. Anyone interested in trapping feral kittens for taming and pets should know that these cats are a little old for catch and tame. Its not impossible its just way more difficult. If you could have gotten these kittens 2-3 weeks before this, the taming and homing process would have been about 5 times easier. Thanks for the well made video , hoping to see a follow up!

  • OWNED

  • I caught one with an RC helicopter

  • @icerink239 THAT video i would love to see

  • @xaipirina no video sorry but if there was a video it would be very funny

  • wow thats 4 is one catch, nice

  • I dont like the idea of sending them to the vet. I have one stray kitten in my home and i never took him to the vet. My doctor (who is both a doctor for humans and cats) said that stray kittens have much stronger natural body defenses and it seems to be getting along with the other cats in the neighborhood. ^_^

  • How can I build a trap, instead of buying or renting one?

  • @buggo1236 jus fork out the 25 bux to buy one. if u make one, unless u know what your doing the cat will find a weak spot an set itself free

  • That was cool.Nice trap dude.:D

  • Lol

  • Hmmmm now take them to the vet like that for some real fun.........Actually the stray I caught I released into a tiny bathroom to get used to me first (for about a week) and calmed down enough to put a body harness on so he would be easier to move and control at the the vets office (they liked that alot)

  • @equarg we took them to the vet right away (that was the whole point of the capture) and by now, 1 year later, they have settled in fairly nicely

  • @juliusnacken

WOW fast response.....I''m glad...I bet the vet had some "fun" though...(aka 4 unhappy kittens) But it was kind of you to give all four of them a home. I do a TNR....The tom cat I caught also had a benign mass in his ear (fine now) so I wanted to handle him a bit so he would be calmer for examination. He did fine. Kept him for a week 1/2 to fully heal..then let him go..very unhappy in the house. Caught him again to see if all was well and he's happier now with the mass gone.

  • @equarg actually, we only kept 2 of the cats, the other 2 were released back into their environment (where mama cat and others roam)

The visit to the vet was actually pretty harmless, since the kittens had calmed down a lot after 10 minutes (cats can be so fatalistic)

  • @juliusnacken

LOL Got that right......I've seen that the first time I put a body harness on one of my cats...was not happy at all (never seen a cat move like that before)..but learned to "accept it". (every time she saw me pick one up she would hide so I had to be sneaky when putting it on her)

Keep up the good work...as for cats being fatalistic..I got a nice scar on my hand from a stray cat being fatalistic...Whats worse after I caught it my mom made me let it go. But I still have the scar =)

  • @juliusnacken How did you cook them?

  • @AEVautomatic at 375F for about 2 hours ... use a lot of CATchup! :D

  • Comment removed

  • @misterbeanladen how so? Helping some kittens staying healthy? give them food and a home? too bad we cannot have long discussions with them about it.

  • You shouldn't have covered them with a blanket or something. That would calm them down instantly. If you do it, do it right.

  • @pina782 you mean i should have (not 'shouldn't') .. well .. they calmed down after 1 minute anyways ... I think we did alright

  • @juliusnacken I have to agree, as a colony caretaker of an over 100+ colony, the best thing to do is to immediately cover the trap. You just didn't know, but you did an excellent job of trapping them! KUDOS!

  • lol so much funniest shit eva

  • fuck ur laughing1 other then the gay laughs 5/5

  • i caught and adult feral cat and it blew the cages top of!

  • and where is the video for that? I'd love to see that :)

  • I have a question, how do you transport them to the vets? Arent they really wild and would proably attack if you try to take them to a mobile cage?

  • They actually settled down after a few minutes and as cats usually are, they become quite fatalistic. They know they can't really do anything, so why waste more energy? So, we took the cage in the car, drove to the vet, and it was his job to get them out. They were not too happy about it, but they weren't wild either. Was easier than I thought it would be.

  • Wow great catch! I caught 3 in one pull, the other I was able to scruff and place in a carrier. Was easy thanks to 15 years of TNR'ring..

  • It's a good thing you did taking care of the mom and the little ones! Poor kitties.... did they settle down OK all together in the cage?

  • Yes, they settled down ok. Cats are a bit fatalistic in that regard, once they realize they can;t get out they just get quiet. We had the kittens vaccinated and took 2 of them home with us, that was 3 weeks ago and they are eating and sleeping well and are slowly getting used to living inside. It can take up to 8 weeks for feral cats to get used to humans. But I can already touch them and they purr.

  • Thank you so much for your reply :) I too have a feral cat that was fixed and released by a group in our town. It took me two years to get close to her, now she is in and out cat that has adopted me!

BTW.... you little son is adorable :)

  • Good point Vallach61. Actually, the trap had been tested the day before ON the mother ... she is not in that video, because she spent the night at the vet, recovering from that surgery that I guess you are implying :D
