The Harry Potter films were amazing until Order of the Phoenix, which sucked. This movie brought me back to the Harry Potter films, but I haven't seen either part of Deathly Hallows.
It is very true that if you do not read the books before watching the movies you will be horribly confused. You people have to check out Boyd Bailey and the Magic Spectrum. It's like the North American Version of Harry Potter. Check out the video. It has a 4-star rating on amazon.

Hp&THBP was a total disappointment. They butchered it worse than any of the other films. They didn't even put Dumbledore's Funeral in it! How the fuck are non-book readers supposed to know anything about what's going on in the last book without that?! It's a pretty pivitol scene as it sets up the scene for when Voldemort steals the wand. How are they going to explain that in the last movie? The first 4 films weren't bad, after that, the films started straying further & further from the books.
They screwed up the beggining so badly. Dumbledore was supposed to come and pick Harry up from the Dursley's, not some random subway station. And they actually had to use brooms to get back INTO the castle, after they found the locket. Not to mention they left out the battle at Hogwarts, and Hagrid attacking the death eaters.
The last thing im going to say about it, is that they should have included Fauxe's flight around the castle, singing an incredibly sad song the entire time.
@TrulyOdd13 Isnt the whole point of making a movie out of a book to make it as close to the book as possible? Sure they can't put everything in, but they didn't need to completely change some of the parts.
@ChidoriPlusRasengan Those things you mentioned are really small things that they changed just to save time. The battle at the end is better out and saved for the last movies, otherwise the Battle of Hogwarts wouldn't feel so epic cause we just saw a smaller version of it.
The use of brooms to re-enter Hogwarts was cut for time and to allow more important things to be in the film. The battle was cut to avoid repetition with the eighth film. Harry runs right past the battle anyway.
The scene where Fawkes leaves Hogwarts is in the film. It's the very last scene. Maybe you missed it.

i'm a big fan of both the movies and the books but i still have to say that the books are way better. i'm so upset that they didn't include a lot of things in all the movies. I get that they can't put all the insignicant things into the movie that are in the books but they also take out a lot of important things that might be needed for the future movies or might just be enjoyed by the audience. Things aren't explained in the movie like they are in the book and so i personally think....

i think the movie was good in the sense of romantic comedy, but in terms of action and following the storyline, it really failed at the end. there was supposed to be a massive ace battle at the end, and hogwarts was supposed to be in ruins. This is an awesome movie! I knew it was going to end like that because I read the book, but remember kids, that there's still one more book left and it's going to be a two part movie.

I hated this movie.... it was my Favorite Book but most hated movie and same thing happened with the third which was my favorite book till the 6th came out but my most hated movie at the time but I'd still give this a 6-7/10 for a standalone movie

that's odd, this was only PG in the states? the UK rated it 12a. Usually the USA are more cautious with rating. And as a HUGE book fan I think this is the best film because they acknowledged the important character plots without trying too hard to be the book. Whereas before they tried and failed.

Well it would of ruined the Battle of Hogwarts in the 7th movie, cause now we don't know how it would be like causing more hype for it.
If we saw it in the 6th, even if it was small, would make us feel like we saw it already and ruin the feeling a bit in the 7th.

Agreed. The movie wholeheartedly was amazing, despite the petty romance scenes. And the entire scene of killing Dumbledore lacked a sort of emotion. But I DID cry lol. Not sob, but yes, wept quite a bit.

i think the movie was good in the sense of romantic comedy, but in terms of action and following the storyline, it really failed at the end. there was supposed to be a massive ace battle at the end, and hogwarts was supposed to be in ruins. And the funeral at the end, and the hint to the next movie...basically, everything was fine and good till the end... =( 7/10

9/10 it was great and its nevr going to be exactly like the book, so people should just stop complaining when they leave out tiny things. like when me and my cousins went to see it, they left complaining about the fact that slughorn didnt have a mustache. i agree there are some little things they shouldve put in, but all in all, i think it was a really good movie that will captivate people everywhere

Oh...Almost forgot! The ending was also weak.Nor I shed a tear for Dumbeldore,neither I was filled with hatred toward Snape.Of course I knew what he did was planned and so on,but I also remeber the Prisoner of Azkaban, I was aware that Sirius was a good man but the movie almost got me thinking maybe Sirius did in fact betray Harry's parents!!!!! It happened becuase of a good directing...Yates and Co ruined the movie.....The movie was turned into a teen gag-movie...And I'm a teen and I hated it!

The worst movie of the series IMO.I was so excited to see the movie,but after I did,I was disappointed it.They left out the most important things out.I mean where are the memories about Tom Riddle?Or the battle of Hogwarts?Or the funeral?Or most importantly where is the setup with the tiara?Oh...kissing Jenny out of nowhere was more important!

Daniel Radclife is not a good actor, he's an ok actor, mediocre. The redhead and girl are much better actors than him, IMO.

I thought the 6th Harry Potter movie was almost worse than Twilight..'almost' being the key word....I expected the 6th movie to be awesome and possibly even better than the 5th...but instead I got a load of crap shoved in my face..:P

i beleived that the movie was decent. True not anywhere near the hieght of the book but...when you go into a movie to see these remember this is the MOVIE not the book. They are gonna be two entirly different things. theres no rule that the movie has to follow the book at all. Just like in max payne movie. Did not follow the video game at all but still made a kick ass movie. Try this for once. go into the theater without ANY expectations. You will be amazed lol.
