Lol...Buck probably called Allen to go on tour the last five times. He kept picking up the phone going "hello...hello...what....is anyone there?"...click
Buck: "groan....Sandy try to find tommy zvonchuk's number"
I saw these guys in a club in about '88. Loudest concert I ever heard. Painfully loud. I literally had hearing problems for years after that. I still love 'em though. If you're going to see them, bring earplugs.
It's the truth, Black Sabbath was profoundly more influential and visionary. Even if Tony stuck to blues covers and there never was a Black Sabbath, BOC would still be playing folky acid rock without a label looking for the American counterpart to Black Sabbath.
Which is not to disparage or laud either of the two, just something to come to terms with. Sabbath WAS the original metal.
I also wonder what happened to the country band they also tested for loudness to their visible chagrin.
Blue Oyster Cult? now honestly how many bands do you think were influenced by these guys? This was a metal band before metal bands were called metal bands...every metal band that ever made it should be thanking these guys.....enough said!
