Did this frog evolve over millions and millions of years too, or are you saying it just suddenly came together from nothing.... supposedly in a cosmic frog factory... perhaps in China? hehe.
Noaooaoaowwww not a lot people know this...BUT.. DarwinsGift had to actually get into the pond and i hide under the water to make this..... Oh and then shove his hand up a frogs arse. Now that, ladies and gentlemen...... IS sacrifice.
Lots of great points in the poem, but as an ex-Christian, I can tell you that it is generally accepted Christian doctrine that "Jesus" spent those 3 days in "Hell" (Hades), based on the so-called Messianic prophecy, "Thou wilt not leave my soul in sheol".
@Darwinsgift It isn't a fringe view. Where do YOU speculate the soul/spirit of "Jesus" was when he was dead for 3 days? Remember, he said to Mary Magdalene outside the tomb, "...for I have not yet ascended to my Father in heaven."
You can ask all of the Christians you like, but the plain fact of the matter is that most Christians are too unlettered in their own literature to know what Christian doctrine is on most things.
@Darwinsgift 1 Peter 3:18-20 It is saying that after "Jesus" was resurrected (quickened), he went and preached to the spirits in PRISON, probably Tartarus. It's talking about the angels who were disobedient, talked about at length in 1st Enoch. A sampling of what "Jesus" was doing during the 3 days.
There's also considerable speculation about what he taught during the 40 days mentioned in Acts 1:3.
Mind you, I don't believe any of this. I'm only pointing out what the N.T. says.
It wasn't accepted in the church I attended - The minister explicitly spoke against it, saying:
"Why would Jesus, The all powerful god HAVE to descend to Hell to get something that Satan never had power over in the first place. It belittles God and isn't true. There is no scripture to back it up"
Hail to the Frog, for he is mighty and wise. And green. Great poem! I'm inspired to write one now, although will have to record it once my man flu has subsided. Thanks for the tribute, you're a star!

@IWannabeJew - This may be a fringe view yet I do not think it is generally accepted doctrine. I'll ask Christians when I have the chance.

I'm an ex-Christian. sheol (Heb.) = hades (Gr.) = "Hell" (Nordic)

@newloser - The minister seems to be stumped then as the sacrifice seems to be a bit of a weak one. LOL!

Jesus is going to send a talking snake to eat you Mr. Frog. or talk you into an apple maybe, I don't remember, how did it go?

@itsasin1969
Do you mean an 'apple' as an allegory for sex or an actual apple....? It's so hard to deduce from the text :(
