  • It's been said, but she really does make that climb look deceptively easy... Quite different from the reality.

  • she make it look so easy a one arm lung to a crimp yowch

  • Flawless climb well done

  • But "the brute" who got the FA is suspected to have done it using much more difficult beta. The beta that Chris Sharma used might have made the problem closer to v13/14.

  • @tdple13 who cares just have fun, climb on my brotha at the end of the day it's really just your own self gratification. Don't worry about Sharma he doesn't worry about you.

  • so this Chris Sharma guy own this rock, or make it or something, cause im pretty sure its just a rock

  • @386sean I think it just means he was the first to climb the route.

  • who missed the like button??

  • the part that gets me is the freakin snow...

  • Amazing.

  • probably smoother than that brute who got the FA...

  • @tisaacso3625 "the brute" was Chris Sharma...

  • I didn't think a 12 could ever be done so smooth

  • background's real actually...no bluescreen shit. i've been there twice, and that's the view.

  • but not really. And even if it was why would they go through all that trouble?

  • have anybody realise how spectacular the view is behind her? haha.. i was half amaze and envy she climbed and be in that awesome atmosphere..

  • I just got back from there last week and its all like that in a 360 view!!! i did not want to leave. oh and plus my buddies and i saw her at the amigos resteraunt too:)

  • Is it only a "first ascent" if no one has climbed the rock/route before?

What If I have never climbed The Nose at Yosemite, but I finally do it, it would be my first time sending it, but would not be called a "First ascent"?

  • No! It´s only first ascent when nobody before climbed the rock/route!

  • ya first ascent is if no1 has ever climbed it before.

  • no it wouldnt be called a First ascent if you climbed the nose. there is only one first ascent.

and thats owned by Lynn Hill because she is the first one to free climb that rock.

If you finally sent the Nose 5'14d, it would be your red point.

  • No. First ascent refers to the first time a route or problem (in this case) is ascended by anyone.

There can only be one first ascent per problem/route.

  • she makes it look no harder then v4, but i doubt i could even manage the hold onto the starting holds let alone make a move.

  • Sick!!! Looks like jugs when she climbs it. When I looked at it face to face all I saw were millimeter crimps... insanely hard!!!

  • not only that but the holds can be razor sharp from the crystal like granite

    \

  • great job lisa

chris would have shit his pants, gone home and retired if you had worked the moves like that in 2000..but daves beta wasnt figured out then so i guess that woulda been really hard to have done back then

  • Wasn't the Mandala rated V15 when Chris sent it?

  • chris's variation was considered v16 because he rated it that way and it was indead about that hard. Since then his double gaston method has broke but it doesnt matter because way back during the 2nd ascent

dave graham figured out an easier variation, dont gaston, just side pull and go right, considered v12.

  • dave graham has the best technique ever, he's smart

  • the holds are Broke or his method is broke?

surely Sharma's FA is an unintentional Eliminate?

  • broke, and unintentional addition

  • sharma was supposedly being facetious when he graded it v16... just a cheeky way of saying 'the hardest thing i've ever done'

believe his original beta is considered no harder than v13+/14-.

  • true, because sharma doesnt rate things and he laughed saying that.

but i do think his version was something sick hard

  • Great work Lisa! First female ascent!

  • what the hell are you talking about? and where are u gettin these numbers? Who was the last guy? ...I'm so confused

  • another video of the same climb. Same thing, he climbed all the way around the side. Not over the top.

  • watch dave graham do the second ascent, watch chris sharma do the first. same route that lisa did v12

  • this is the same climb there are afew variation to the mandala there is a sit down start which i believe is considered v13 the regular which is considered v12 and a direct which is finishing over the top of the prow which is considered v12 as well

this is the regular mandala route and the way most people do it

history: dave graham who was the 2nd acent climbed it slightly different then sharma, while cleaning the route he found a micro crimp which made the route slightly easier

  • first what the fuck do u mean she climbed way off the top?

    2nd, what last guy

    3rd

the rating says v12 and thats correct, why are you asking

4th of all u think they give a shit about some e z v0 slab to the very top of a rock with hard ass moves at the bottom

5th you are dumb as shit, u dont have a brain, cut off your hands and never type again

  • tell your mom I said hi.

  • i dont have a mom n e more

y r u talking about my mom yo

    :-( ...

  • wow nice send

  • gosh she walked that... How strong is she ?

  • pushing the limits of female bouldering

  • thats one of the best ascents of the mandala i've seen so far!!!! great job!!!!!!

  • Way to go Lisa!!!

  • that's one strong lady!
