Actually, they are many different meanings behind the Oneesama.
Apparently Oneesama can mean refering to someone that they see has an older sister (in Japan, sadly Oneesama isn't used towards real older sisters, just people that they see has an older sister), but in a lot of Anime and manga, Oneesama is has been used a lot in Shoujo-ai (girlxgirl love) ones, so the meaning of Oneesama is quite hard to seperate from romantic affections towards the person that they are referring to.
well ya there is many different meanings behind the Oneesama BUT pudding also says Oneesama/neechan/oneechan and in the anime Azumanga Daioh there is a girl called Sakaki and all the girls in the school have hearts for eyes wen they see her and there herd saying "i love her,shes so cool"
Yeah, but oneechan is different to oneesama by what I said before (oneechan also means older sister, but in a more informal way to oneesama and unlike oneesama, oneechan can be used towards real sisters too).
I also find Minto's and Zakuro's relationship is a lot like Sakaki's and Kourin's relationship (I would example why, but I can only type up to 500 characters in here, which sucks).
Also, if Minto is really just a fan of Zakuro, then why doesn't she copy Zakuro's hair style, poses or have a bunch of pictures of her on her wall like that girl does in one episode?
Plus, I have seen quite a few M x Z Japanese fan art of the two, so it isn't just the West that supports the couple.
Then, what is Minto a fan about Zakuro? I don't think it could wanting to be like her in looks, smartness and athletic, because Minto already has that and she doesn't seem insecure about those or anything. And I don't think she could want to be like her personality wise, because we don't really see her acting like Zakuro at the end of the series. Nor does she want to be famous like Zakuro, because she's rich, and being rich is like being famous if you think about it.

i've always been confused about Mint's weird attraction to Zakuro.
i mean, it doesn't seem like she's a real lesbian, just REALLY serious about worshipping Zakuro, but it's debatable. personally, it kind of reminds me of how girls tend to really look up to/stare at/drool at/worship/etc. "popular" or pretty girls, or celebs. the girls aren't necessarily lesbians, but they appreciate the female form, and they want to be like that.
it's just weird that if she is, they don't make it very obvious, it's only hinted at, whereas in sailor moon, it was a fact that neptune and pluto or whatever liked each other. so it can't be that it's considered inappropriate for little girls, which makes me wonder why tokyo mew mew is so quiet about it. and wait, if Mint is a lesbian, she calls Zakuro "older sister" ... hahaha
Sailor Moon (with Neptune x Uranus) was way before Tokyo Mew Mew time. Sailor Moon S aired in 94-95, while TMM was from 02-03. Sure, that's less than ten years, but a lot has happened in the last ten years with TV.
Also, Neptune and Uranus (Michiru and Haruka) were only openly lesbian in the Manga. They sort of 'danced' around their relationship in the anime, never really giving them a definite relationship (Though in the english, they said they were cousins).
well yeah, but i thought TV was getting less strict on that kind of stuff, unless Japan has different standards than the US...
oh... (and yeah, the dub sucks haha)
i guess it's not really far out there to call Mint a lesbian, but to me it's so played down in both the anime and the manga that it's hard for me to see her affection for Zakuro as much more than idol worship, haha
About the Onii-sama: It seems that the words aren't all translated perfectly. When Ichigo makes the inference (her third line), She starts out with "Demo," which easily translates to "but," but it wasn't shown in the subs.
I probably WOULD like it if Zakuro weren't a model. And if Minto didn't act like a fangirl around her all the time...it's annoying -.- I like the confident Mint better than fangirl Mint.

I think she's probably bisexual. Have any of you ever read the manga? There are some Ichigo X Mint moments, and I believe there are Zakuro X Mint ones as well. There's nothing wrong with that; I rather like the pairings.

I recommend watching it. Both because once it ends, it makes a pretty good series, and because once you've seen it all, you'll have a say in topics like this.
Just make sure you watch Tokyo Mew Mew and NOT Mew Mew Power. They're two different animes. The difference between them is the difference between Spongebob Squarepants and Spongebob Squarepants in black-and-white, with no audio.

Actually, they are many different meanings behind the Oneesama.
Apparently Oneesama can mean refering to someone that they see has an older sister (in Japan, sadly Oneesama isn't used towards real older sisters, just people that they see has an older sister), but in a lot of Anime and manga, Oneesama is has been used a lot in Shoujo-ai (girlxgirl love) ones, so the meaning of Oneesama is quite hard to seperate from romantic affections towards the person that they are referring to.

well ya there is many different meanings behind the Oneesama BUT pudding also says Oneesama/neechan/oneechan and in the anime Azumanga Daioh there is a girl called Sakaki and all the girls in the school have hearts for eyes wen they see her and there herd saying "i love her,shes so cool"

Yeah, but oneechan is different to oneesama by what I said before (oneechan also means older sister, but in a more informal way to oneesama and unlike oneesama, oneechan can be used towards real sisters too).

I also find Minto's and Zakuro's relationship is a lot like Sakaki's and Kourin's relationship (I would example why, but I can only type up to 500 characters in here, which sucks).
Also, if Minto is really just a fan of Zakuro, then why doesn't she copy Zakuro's hair style, poses or have a bunch of pictures of her on her wall like that girl does in one episode?
Plus, I have seen quite a few M x Z Japanese fan art of the two, so it isn't just the West that supports the couple.

Then, what is Minto a fan about Zakuro? I don't think it could wanting to be like her in looks, smartness and athletic, because Minto already has that and she doesn't seem insecure about those or anything. And I don't think she could want to be like her personality wise, because we don't really see her acting like Zakuro at the end of the series. Nor does she want to be famous like Zakuro, because she's rich, and being rich is like being famous if you think about it.

i've always been confused about Mint's weird attraction to Zakuro.
i mean, it doesn't seem like she's a real lesbian, just REALLY serious about worshipping Zakuro, but it's debatable. personally, it kind of reminds me of how girls tend to really look up to/stare at/drool at/worship/etc. "popular" or pretty girls, or celebs. the girls aren't necessarily lesbians, but they appreciate the female form, and they want to be like that.

hmm, good point.
it's just weird that if she is, they don't make it very obvious, it's only hinted at, whereas in sailor moon, it was a fact that neptune and pluto or whatever liked each other. so it can't be that it's considered inappropriate for little girls, which makes me wonder why tokyo mew mew is so quiet about it. and wait, if Mint is a lesbian, she calls Zakuro "older sister" ... hahaha

Sailor Moon (with Neptune x Uranus) was way before Tokyo Mew Mew time. Sailor Moon S aired in 94-95, while TMM was from 02-03. Sure, that's less than ten years, but a lot has happened in the last ten years with TV.
Also, Neptune and Uranus (Michiru and Haruka) were only openly lesbian in the Manga. They sort of 'danced' around their relationship in the anime, never really giving them a definite relationship (Though in the english, they said they were cousins).

About the Onii-sama: It seems that the words aren't all translated perfectly. When Ichigo makes the inference (her third line), She starts out with "Demo," which easily translates to "but," but it wasn't shown in the subs.
