Moh running on a modded version of unrealengine3 for the campaign was the best looking game of 2010. Great lighting and textures along with great sound design to complement it.
Mirror's Edge has the best graphics so far. Not much variety but the most natural and deep visuals. C2 is alright and very versatile, but still 0 depth and blurry mess even with all blur removed.

@joggingbanana the games may be given the resolution of 1080p in their xonfigs but the pixels put into the detail of the game might not reach it. Especially since anti-aliasing is disabled on consoles which is why cars in gt5 will still have jagged edged shadows and corners when viewed from a distance. The same goes for PCB. If the pixels ain't there resolution ain't crap. ;)
@fizixs many console games do have AA but is usually limited to 4x at 720p. jagged shadows have more to do with the vram, and console vram sucks ass. and for actual texture mapping some of gt5 is phenominal but i agree about half the texture are crap. but kz3, beautiful. highest texture mapping ive seen in a game to date with the first time ive seen tessilation in a console game. vram still sucks so you get alot of fade in but still good. and im sure there are better games, kz3 is still great.

This is partialy nonsense, because CryEngine 3 is very new, but U3 engine is pretty old, compare some new games using updated U3,5 engine (Bulletstorm if i am not mistaken). GoW looks so static and have monotone colours.
Also CryEngine was made mainly to show how good can today engine be, and crysis is just a provider of it, U3 engine was made for playing.... if you get me, i know i dececrated english by writing this comment, so be patient with me.

Man, you guys do not know anything about the UDK Engine. The water is totally adjustable, and the splash effects are better than the Cry engine. If the person who knows what they are doing will create them. Not a amateur.
@SoftHardTV1 yeah, for two reasons, number one, its harder for developers to "adapt" an engine to the ps3, due to some limittations (software, not hardware), and second, because the ps3's GPU can display only 275,000,000 polygons on screen, whereas the 360's can display 500,000,000.
@Sparx936 you are correct, the ps3's spu cores are were the real raw power of the ps3 come from, given that they have (correct me if I'm wrong) 9 spu's, but the gpu of the ps3 is, in raw power, weaker than that of the 360's, the reason as to why the ps3 can look much better than the 360 is because of its memory capacity, given that the blu-ray disk is roghly 2 times as big as a DVD disk, developers can utilize much more detailed textures in the game instead of compressing the textures
@Sparx936 there are some limitations, however, you see, the ps3 can contain much more detail than the 360, that's no mistery, again, since developers aren't limited as far as texture detail goes, but when talking about scale, the 360 doubles the ps3s capacity, for example, and this is in no means inteded as fanboism, but I assure you that big battles such as the collapsing building in gears of war 2 coulnd't be done on the ps3 unless modifications are made to ease the number of polygons onscreen

@capatais777 Still UE has had dynamic water much longer. Which brings the fact that it will obviously be improved through engines. Crysis 2's dynamic water is slightly above UE 3's water but not 3.5's.
CE3 on a PC will probably push it further with a sandbox editor than CE2. A bunch of PC owners whining about an enginge that hasn't even been released yet. Of course consoles had their settings tweaked. I'd like to see your laptops play Crysis on the same graphic power as my 360. No, it ain't happening, so chill out, Crysis 2 will look sweet, and enviroment destruction and interactivity will be even better.

The engines, no, even the games, aren't even comparable in the amount of water effects, so why even put them together in comparison? Gears of War has little to no water in it, while Crysis has an entire ocean and creeks to render. Also, the engines by date made, are too far apart to compare as well, so this video is mute.
@nintenzelda Unreal engine 3 is not so outdated, it is now patched to version 3,5 - there is no need to create whole new version of U engine when U3 is still capable of good graphics after some updates.

This is partialy nonsense, because CryEngine 3 is very new, but U3 engine is pretty old, compare some new games using updated U3,5 engine (Bulletstorm if i am not mistaken). GoW looks so static and have monotone colours.
Also CryEngine was made mainly to show how good can today engine be, and crysis is just a provider of it, U3 engine was made for playing.... if you get me, i know i dececrated english by writing this comment, so be patient with me.

Man, you guys do not know anything about the UDK Engine. The water is totally adjustable, and the splash effects are better than the Cry engine. If the person who knows what they are doing will create them. Not a amateur.

@SoftHardTV1 yeah, for two reasons, number one, its harder for developers to "adapt" an engine to the ps3, due to some limittations (software, not hardware), and second, because the ps3's GPU can display only 275,000,000 polygons on screen, whereas the 360's can display 500,000,000.

@Sparx936 you are correct, the ps3's spu cores are were the real raw power of the ps3 come from, given that they have (correct me if I'm wrong) 9 spu's, but the gpu of the ps3 is, in raw power, weaker than that of the 360's, the reason as to why the ps3 can look much better than the 360 is because of its memory capacity, given that the blu-ray disk is roghly 2 times as big as a DVD disk, developers can utilize much more detailed textures in the game instead of compressing the textures

@Sparx936 there are some limitations, however, you see, the ps3 can contain much more detail than the 360, that's no mistery, again, since developers aren't limited as far as texture detail goes, but when talking about scale, the 360 doubles the ps3s capacity, for example, and this is in no means inteded as fanboism, but I assure you that big battles such as the collapsing building in gears of war 2 coulnd't be done on the ps3 unless modifications are made to ease the number of polygons onscreen

@Sparx936 last reply, I promise, games like uncharted 2 can't run on the 360 simply because the sheer capacity that game needs in order to run properly is massive, after all, it uses 97% of the ps3's power, but then again, compare the scale of U2 to GOW2, and you'l notice the difference, again, no fanboism intended, I for once enjoy both consoles to death, I'm simply pointing out that most people believe the ps3 is more power than the 360, and that's not entirely true (I said entirely)

@xTheBestJokex I have a pc so it doesnt really matter to me I used to own a Ps3. I like the networks and stores built into consoles and i didnt know that pc had the steam platform so I didnt switch. I then found out and that was the only thing I needed

@Sparx936 hehe, I used to play the 360 in my house and the ps3 at a friends house which I constantly went to, but then my 360 went RROD on me so I moved over to pc, upgraded it so I could play the original crysis and have been happy with steam and the ea store(now origin) ever since.

@capatais777 Still UE has had dynamic water much longer. Which brings the fact that it will obviously be improved through engines. Crysis 2's dynamic water is slightly above UE 3's water but not 3.5's.

CE3 on a PC will probably push it further with a sandbox editor than CE2. A bunch of PC owners whining about an enginge that hasn't even been released yet. Of course consoles had their settings tweaked. I'd like to see your laptops play Crysis on the same graphic power as my 360. No, it ain't happening, so chill out, Crysis 2 will look sweet, and enviroment destruction and interactivity will be even better.

yes crysis will always have the best graphic but let be honest most pc owners dont have a powerful enough pc to run the game on high smoothly or even if they do most people over cloak which i think is to much fuss for 1 game so in this case i give it 2 gear of war it compatible graphic look best on pc and 360 both having high def graphics while on a buget pc for 300 or more and a console :D

The engines, no, even the games, aren't even comparable in the amount of water effects, so why even put them together in comparison? Gears of War has little to no water in it, while Crysis has an entire ocean and creeks to render. Also, the engines by date made, are too far apart to compare as well, so this video is mute.

@nintenzelda Unreal engine 3 is not so outdated, it is now patched to version 3,5 - there is no need to create whole new version of U engine when U3 is still capable of good graphics after some updates.

Unreal has better dynamics, but It was in Gears of War while CryEngine was going for a realistic approach as opposed to Gears' stylized european approach....
