  • Hey :) Nice tribute video to Kat! :)

  • Okay, why does the title include McPhee's name? Wasting people's time...

  • Twila is my cousin, and of course she wrote this song. This was her very first hit, and she wrote it when she was young, for herself and her life. She didn't write it for Melody Greene....

  • Youre going to discrace this song with clips from a beauty pagent? How insulting to Twila Paris who wrote the song for warrios thoughout the ages.

  • i'm about cry when seeing the slide :')

  • I am just guessing that the reason they had katherine mcphee as a cove is because she struggled with anorexia nervosa I believe it was. That is probably the reason why.

  • we should never give one individual such praise and attention.........we are all gods children, and we all go through trials. I personally dont think Katherine Mcphee deserves this song. Shes no different than you and I.

  • Why is Katharine McPhee in this video? I thought she has her own version of the song. Aww.. I wanna hear her sing this. :)

  • Twila Paris originally recorded this song in 1984 for the aptly titled album "The Warrior is a Child". Gary V. recorded this song as a cover in 2001. Twila did two versions of this song that I am aware of, both of which I greatly enjoy listening to. I cared for Gary's version though, That's nothing against him as an artist, I just like Twila. In all honesty, I am writing this as I am waiting for the video to load (slow internet connection tonight) so I can't form an opinion on this cover.

  • this will remind us that Jesus requires us to be like a child in order to get to his kingdom. Please turn to be like a child as he said, for a child is graceful, sincere and clean. Be like a child

  • great message! God bless my friend!!!

  • Michael Jackson - Oxford Speech 2001 WAtch here on youtube just found it and tell to all.thanks

  • Maganda!

  • hmm love this song i can relate..keep it up

  • I happen to love this song. Twila is such an amazing songwriter. I even saw her in concert once, but I can't remember if she sang this one then or not. My mom, who is a long, longtime fan, is pretty sure Twila wrote this song for Melody Greene, Keith Greene's wife, when he died. I can't confirm this, but it certainly does fit the song.

Either way, it is a beautiful song. However, I am wondering what it had to do with the video or Katherine McPhee. They didn't seem consistent with the song.

  • @dancophobe1 She did sang it. It came out before Gary V's version. It's been around since 1984, I think. I currently have both versions (Gary V and Twila) of the song.

  • Just curious, who is Katherine McPhee? Is this like a memorial video for her or something? I love this song. A good friend of mine sang it at our eighth grade graduation and I think she sang it better than Twila Paris!

  • Katharine McPhee is a singer/actress who launched her career in 2006 as a contestant on Season 5 of American Idol. She has since released an album and shot a movie among many other things.

  • im a filipino and this song is one of my favorites.. but it is of course sung originally by twila paris.. I love them both

  • This is a cut version of the song that has absolutely nothing to do with the original by Twila Paris. Listen to the original to discover the true meaning.

  • @nomoslogos i concurr... this is not a good vid.

  • This is 3rd grade infatuation.

  • and that's innocent at least. This a very nice video.

  • Sogdiana love this song among the Russian and Uzbek people.

  • lets just enjoy the song folks..

  • lol

  • Twila Paris is the author of this song.

Do a search...This was written in the 80's. Check with ASCAP, they will tell you it's Twila's song, but this guy has done a nice job with it.

  • ...tribute to Freddie Mercury.

  • Twila Paris wrote this song!! She is very well known for this song! It came out I think in the early 80s?

No one can ever sing it like Twila paris. I saw her in Concert in Hawaii in the 90s

  • Twila Paris wrote it 25 years ago. Gary Valenciano covered (re-did) the song as he does with many of his songs.

  • This song has a lot of meaning in my life! I haven't heard this version before, but I know of Susan Ashton's version. I sang this song in church a few years ago! I love this video, you did an incredible job! I think this may be the best video! I will be looking for more by you! Thanks so much!

  • It wasn't ever sung by Susan Ashton, it was sung by Twila Paris.

  • not twila paris... it's gary valenciano from philippines... the original...

  • Twila Paris Wrote this song quite some years ago

  • @ginopanadero its twila paris.. the original composer

  • the one who wrote this song is gary valenciano from philippines... he is the original singer of this song... he is singer/composer...

  • you are wrong... twila is the original artist and composer of this song

  • i think u need to check your facts bro. u can never assume a filipino singer has sung an original. it seems like almost every filipino artist does covers. i believe twila paris composed this song.

  • Yes this version was sang by GARY VALENCIANO a filipino, but it didnt say that he sang it originally. I love Twila's songs and i've been listening to her songs way before. Gary sang it really good, one of the best and highly respected singer in the country

  • This song is written by GARY V.

  • This song was actually written by Twila Paris. I am a longtime fan of hers and used to own the album this song is off of. I'm almost 100% positive she wrote it.

  • I love this song when I first heard it way back in the 80s. If my memory serves me right, it's DYVS the sweet voice of salvation based in Bacolod City but can be heard in Iloilo City. It makes my soul praise GOD back then as it is right now.

  • I certainly hope Gary V. doesn't claim to have written it. Twila did, and it's about time she get credit for it.

  • @Moffatwv , We all know even Gary knows the song was Twila's but Gary sang the song beautifully & never ever claimed to have written it. It doesn't matter who sang the song, what really matter is the meaning of the song....God Bless

  • @Moffatwv thank you thank you

  • @Moffatwv

    I agree!!!

  • @Moffatwv Twila Sings it so much better... First heard her sing it at a local church back when no one new who she was...It's still one of my favorites that she sings... and pairs it with "Do I Trust you"... It's Incredible!

  • I have a tape titled "The Warrior is a Child" by Twila Paris that I bought 15 years ago, & I'm not sure how old it was when I bought it. Unless Gary Valenciano wrote it at least 25+ years ago, it's deafinately Twila Paris' song.

  • wow.. that was amazing!!

    thanx

  • Gorgeous! Love it! (TKoN-IDF)

  • Beautiful, good job!

  • Best ever, Czar. Your tying the lyrics to the images is fantastic. I luv the use of b/w too. "Warrior is a Child" is wonderfully sung by Gary Valenciano.

  • thats terrific czar. thanks
