  • They make regular, simple and easy tasks look difficult and impossible...

Keep banging you CD on the screen, I am sure it work sometimes. -__-

  • CDs cost money, space, scratch easily and MAINLY GET LOST XD can't lose the Internet!

  • I'm glad I unsubscribed

  • can it run word?

  • @ahlakit Nope, you use google documents. Much better....

  • Oh wow, we don't have to place CD's into computers to install things now! :O

Because it's so hard to push a button, place a small object into the little doohickey that slides out, and push the thing back in. Convenience, eh?

  • Okay who went to pandora.com?

  • "...Like Gmail, and Youtube" he sounds so amazed. Someone should tell him you don't need a Chromebook for that.

  • a cd in the screen?:P

  • Wow, apps that work OFFline too. So revolutionary. *roll eyes*

Also, if you're like the guy at 0:43, then you shouldn't be using a computer.

  • There's this app called (for ipod, iPad and iphone) App Trailers, you watch trailers and get 1 point (0.01$) for watching one, the more you watch, the more you earn :))) by entering my code you receive 2,000 points which is equivalent to 200$ CAD To use this money, you either transfer it to your PayPal account, or turn it into a gift card.

here's what you enter as a code: 2000free

  • @1ThingIsToBeHappy 2000 points * .01 = $20.00

  • @TheBeardStays yes i know

  • trying to insert a cd into monitor?

Why people these days are not doing decent advertisements? Where is the ethic?

  • "You don't have to load anything from a CD like you do on a normal computer".

    No...

  • What Was That Guy Thinking 0:43

  • @PucciPuppy I know that's what I said too, really how stupid do they think we are?

  • @Rocker2K12 Maybe they made it stupid so we would buy a chromebook?

  • Wait so we can't use any advanced software unless it's been uploaded into google's cloud? Meaning no video games (obviously this isn't a gaming laptop though), no photoshop, no audacity? Just random crap that people gave google permission to use? And keep in mind this is costing you 500 dollars.

  • 5 people don't know how to insert a cd

    0:45

  • Microsoft Office and Im sold

  • @tc16190 There is Microsoft Office online

  • Wonderfull give all your cyber activities to ONE company. Think, resist.

  • 0.47 that guy is clearly a newbie

  • For the rare times you're not connected to the web? I do want to have some of a life, you know. I don't want to sit on the internet all day and night. Why does Google assume that we need to be online 24/7?

  • The minute one of these comes out with a multitouch screen AND runs any android app, im sold. TIll then, I wait.

  • I predicted this Chrome OS was coming from Google way back in 2010.

  • why one could prefer this over a pc or mac? lol

  • [](/Troll) Dont mind me trying out the rage face app!

  • i recommend that man downloads Steam if hes trying to jam a disc into his monitor

  • Is there a Minecraft app?

  • oh shit! how do i use CD's!

  • lol at 0:44

  • APA

    (Amazing.Powerful.Apps)

  • No one uses disks anymore! Not even on a desktop computer :\

  • inserting DVD into screen... I hate when that happens.

  • This is really convincing me to get a Chromebook. I still like Apple though.

  • 0:44 - The person on the right is what google thinks of Windows and Mac users.

  • i want chrometablet..

  • wait a sec ... the apps are free or ...

  • @visiolization ya they are....some are pay as you use them but very few

  • web based apps that work offline!? sweet!

  • I like the app idea but only for games and document stuff and possibly video chatting since well other stuff like YouTube can be accessed through the browser

  • Sooo how much do these apps cost then, or are they free? It would be an absolute goldmine if they could charge people for youtube or hotmail apps, and when stocks go down instant solution for google is start charging more for the popular stuff

I love and trust the almighty Google, of course, but it doesn't matter how quick or new the web is, I can't afford to pay for every well-known website I use having already bought the machine, even if it was a one time payment like iPhone.

  • This is the way forward if you cannot afford a 900 dollar MacBook.

  • youtta notebook

  • Yes because I think CD's go into the monitor.

  • @noGAMEjumping Actually, my monitor has a CD drive.

  • Uggghhh... why won't you go in???

  • 0:42 THAT'S NOT HOW YOU USE A DISC SILLY

  • Everyone Flag ArttraTainment For Spam. Not just one of his stupid ads, ALL OF THEM. Vote up so others will too.

  • the rare times not connected? are you crazy? only your home's internet is safe. other areas, not so much

  • Yes, CD's are SOOOOO Complex!!!

  • *cause Google knows' Americans are stupid

  • @Cycon91 That is the point.

  • @SteveHenry86 Its acctually true, its a video parody, check it out its not false.

  • /watch?v=i_T6n2tz8Qg funny parody.

  • @ArttraTainment DUDE. Do I have to hunt you down on every Chrome Ad or something? NO ONE IS GOING TO WATCH YOUR PIECE OF SHIT VIDEO.

  • @heyheyitsconnor 1300 views 65 comments, 300 views a day. I beg to differ. Anyway don't get your pants in a not, if you don't want to watch it dont, dont come crying to me bout it.

  • @ArttraTainment We don't care. If we want to watch a parody of the video we're currently watching, we'll search for it. Please chill out.

  • @Digipatd I spent weeks of work on it, I just want it to be seen.

  • All these Google chrome book videos, aren't really teaching us about the new googlechrome book, its more about insulting us and they think they are the best and we dont know shit about our own computers.

  • 'Category:

    Comedy'

  • Angry birds is a EPIC app!

  • @jadco Enjoy your Pornbook!

  • @jadco i think if u use it enough ......it could be.....

  • ahahahahha

  • cumquat

  • i cant wait.... just wish it will be on a nicer (smaller- ie macbook air) machine.

  • SUCKZ

  • So what happens when your internet is down and u need to connect to the internet to access your files????

  • @purepwn01 ...Google Support team "uhhhhh, we will get back to you on that" behind the scene's...."SHIT, we forgot about that part." "Why didn't we ever think about that before we advertised this lame piece of crap" "What do we tell this guy because he will never be able to do his work when he has no internet access?" "I don't know, just make up some shit."

This is Google support returning your call....Sorry, you can't. We never thought this project through and unfortunately your screwed.

  • in mother russia we put disc on screen..

  • @etoangfavoriteko no it can't, it can't download anything. It has no memory.

  • Can it run Crysis 2?

  • but what if someone will have1Mbps Internet connection ? This will suck

  • Can I play minecraft on it?

  • @ddstar Yes, you can already play Minecraft through your browser, same way.

  • these aren't the apps you're looking for...

  • The whole app thing isn't really my favorite idea for this. I'm all for moving forward, but I really never was a fan of making a download only type of computer. I like being able to buy Microsoft Office at the store or buying other productivity software in physical form.

This is, obviously, not catered toward me, but to those who do buy it, I hope they enjoy it.

  • I feel like people are missing the part that for like $50 extra when you buy the chromebook you get verizon 3G service...hence the fact that you are rarely offline

  • 0:23 "for the rare times you're not connected to the web" WTF?? more like for the MAJORITY of time, because most public Wi-Fi is password-protected.

If Chrome OS was FULLY FUNCTIONAL OFFLINE as well as online, then it would have MUCH greater success.

  • @pulsedrop not really. y would u buy one if u werent gonna be on the web in the first place??and btw,it is fully functional. just cause its a new idea, people like U have such a problem wid it.

  • @thefpssoap i didn't say i didn't wanna be on the web. but i dont expect to be on the web every time i use a computer. There are lots of other things you can use a computer for, and Google needs to realize this.

  • @pulsedrop And google realises that everything you use your computer for can be done on the web?

  • So where is the APP that I can edit home video's and compress them in HD? Where is the Fallout 3 App or New Vegas? How about the Mame app so I can play my favorite Arcade games or the Playstation 2 app so I can play my old PS2 games?

Ohhh, I forgot...alls you get is a browser. Call me in 20 years when your Google OS is worth a damn because even after 15 years Linux is still nothing but eye candy and too much security to where you have to enter a password every time you take a piss.

  • @kpreston69 OMG!!! the entire world doesnt revolve around games and apps.google isnt targeting hardcore gamers!!!people who are on the web 24X7 are gonna buy this.their chromebooks wont slow down wen they add heavy files like ordinary notebokks do.

  • @thefpssoap Actually the entire world DOES revolve around games. Check the statistics of the gamer age groups. I can only see this ingenious worthless concept working in some place like San Fransisco.

Limiting this dumb idea to just browsing and retarded online games and apps is just going to fail mainly because it is $300 more than it should be. If I am going to pay for an expensive laptop it better be able to do something more than surf the web. The power of Linux with Flash and Java yeah

  • @kpreston69 do you realise how ridiculous you sound?

  • but it wont have steam so it therefore loses half the pc market watching this video

  • I will buy this the day they add Crysis 2 to the appstore

  • if it was my computer when they were typing in 'p' to the browser the first thing to come up would be pornhub lol

  • @wildabeeeest YEAH! HIGH 5 :D

  • microsoft and apple are laughing their ass off rigt now xD

  • [part 2] And even worse - some services are more likely to loose your data, than you are.

For example, look at PSN. And I know a lot of cases of lost data on web hostings, etc.

Even with all that taken away - you have to have unlimited Internet connection in all the places you go to.

  • yeah, I agree, that there's a lot of software online, but it's nowhere near as good as some desktop applications. Just look at adobe.

I can imagine a someone like my mom using chromebook, but how would I edit video (YT editor is not complex enough), for example?

Well, the main things will remain necessary: games, video/audio, offline work (those apps that work offline, but on web will still require disk space, good processor and memory to run), ...... [part 1]

  • Be realistic, P is for Porn...

  • Wait, "Offline"?

I thought this thing didn't even have a desktop.

  • @ThexSare I guess that's why they call it "store"... you must pay to have it offline, it is not as great as Internet.... it's just business

  • what about minecraft

  • "store" does that mean they are going to charge you somehow for the apps?

  • Who even uses cd's these days ;_;

  • @DutchSquad1337 well i still do for music, it feels nicer sometimes to have a collection of CDs... but i donna, maybe it's just me :D

  • Thumbs up if you don't use discs to install software (cc. thepiratebay)

  • hopefully they will make a minecraft java link. :D

  • Wow, it shows suggestions when you type, that's some insane technology!

  • I just downloaded chrome of google for FREE. Good job trying to charge for a computer that does less.

  • Ummm, I haven't used a CD to install something on my computer in ages. I think we're all familiar with digital distribution by now...

  • @filmguru You're right, I haven't used a CD to install software in years. It's as if Google thinks that the internet is new to everyone else.

  • Not just the americans

  • Do we have to pay stuff? The word Store makes me worry a bit.

  • @maplefreak26 mostly no, there are some premium games and apps but 90% of the time they're free.

  • que tipo de pessoa tenta inserir um cd na tela do pc?

  • Chrome Store stand against and Open Web. If they are HTML5/JS/CSS3 they can run in different browsers, but well, Google wants to impose Chrome to us.

  • @thehungrycannibal

Chrome is completely based on open web technology. It does use HTML5/JS/CSS3. The only proprietary piece of software in Chrome is Adobe Flash to handle necessary usage scenarios not yet implemented in HTML5 (video chat for example).

    You're an idiot.

  • @thehungrycannibal Can you make an OS with HTML5?

  • why would you put a disc into the screen...?

  • @jokeroat 'cause google thinks americans are stupid.

  • @rurens2 Naw. They just like simplifying the complicated stuff, and complicating the simple stuff. Get it?

  • @rurens2 Because Americans *are* sometimes stupid... Tech support gets calls about stuff like, "Where's my 'Any' key?"

  • Comment removed

  • @TheBunnyFilms

Reall...you're going to pigeon hole 300,000,000 people into a single category? Now there's an intelligent thing to do.

  • @rurens2 clearly someone forgot their sense of humor at home today

  • @rurens2 And google's right

  • @rurens2 that because we are

  • @rurens2 thats why they think people will buy this

  • @rurens2 and they're absolutely right.

  • @rurens2 and they are right :D

  • @rurens2 'cause americans are stupid *fixed

  • @rurens2 because they probably are. ;-P

  • @rurens2 you think the people who put G.W Bush into the white house TWICE are intelligent lifeforms?

  • @cordia96 You think the people who put Obama into the whitehouse were smart

  • @cordia96 I do.

  • @jokeroat the guy should read the manual lol XD

  • @jokeroat men I laugh so hard right now... hahahahaha

  • @jokeroat That kid should not be allowed to use a computer

  • @ank2000 lol...definitely...

  • @jokeroat chill out , its just funny

  • @fernandofalcao1 haha...yeah I know,I'm just being a hard nut for no reason...

  • @jokeroat my grandma lol

  • @TheDougtechcrew lol...

  • @jokeroat He thinks it's an iMac

  • @jokeroat it says "insert disk" it doesn't say where

I actually have had users try this!

  • @Koman92040 Hahahaha...that is unbelievable...

  • just like iphone? with apps? but, in web. hehehe.

  • Sadly, Chromebooks would have a hard time taking off in areas of the world where connectivity is a problem. Like here in Beirut. How usable would it be here? Google, would you send me a CR-48 to check?
