  • I made them this morning for my daughters school and they came out amazing, I did put some grated orange and I used fresh squeesed orange juice and insted of fresh cranberries I used dried, but they came out delicious. Thank you for the recepie :)

  • i am going to make these scones soon!!!

  • Could you give the measurements in lbs and oz too please? Had these on holiday in the States and trying to make them in the UK now but having problems converting cups and sticks to our measurements.

  • i typed how to make c-4 and this came up xD

  • Hey. Im trying to build a archive of good food. We are trying to capture as many scone recipe's a possible can we post your scone recipes?

  • @Promultimedia Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Sure. Go for it!

  • that more like an inch think, not half an inch.

  • i just made these and they are delicious. I just traded out the orange juice and zest for pecans...but yummmm!!

  • I've made these scones twice and they are great! I use very cold butter and doughmakers baking sheets. Amy shares in this video basic scone making techniques that help you create great scones. She told me why some of my earlier scones were done on the outside and doughy inside. Her devonshire cream recipe is also great. It's in her book, Creating an Afternoon to Remember.

  • without even trying this, I know it will turn out nicely because it's very close to Julia Child's recipe for scones. Scone recipes with egg do not come close to the flaky and buttery texture of these. Thanks for posting for scone lovers everywhere!

  • Best scones ive had are in AZ ocotillo starbucks. Very plain almost dry sour not sweet! Dried cherrys, almonds, light white vanilla drisseled over top yumm. Id get two every day. Some local baker

  • This looks like a fantastic recipe, only problem is I prefer "EXACT" recipes. Not sure about the idea of having leftover buttermilk mixture, cuz I will not feel content I have used enough liquid. Doesn't everyone use dried cranberries? Also, is parchment paper necessary? It's just something I would have to buy and probably never use again. Otherwise, thank you for sharing. It looks yummy and very easy.

  • The fresh cranberries are a wonderful addition to the scone. They help to keep it moist. Dried cranberries would be too dry. It's a good recipe, you should try it.

  • I made these scones a couple days ago and they were fantastic!!!! thank you for the recipe and this wonderful video :)

  • thanks : ) the video is great! (at least i can understd it easily)

  • Thank you, i plunk the computer in the kitchen counter and set to make the scones. They turned out wonderfully!! I used guava juice intead of OJ since none was to be had, they taste nice though.

  • I am wondering about salted vs. unsalted butter. What difference does it make in a recipe and is it ok to use salted butter instead?

Thanks for the video. I'd love to try these!

  • Sorry for the late response. Salted butter will make the scones a bit too salty.

  • Aha! Ok, thanks very much. :)

  • using unsalted butter allows for control over the salt in a recipe, since the amount of salt in salted butter varies.

  • Wow!! Just like working!!! It's a great idea to do the demonstration on youtube.

  • Self-rising flour is the yuk! Use real flour and 3 teaspoons of baking powder and about 3/4 teaspoon baking soda for this recipe instead.

  • Great demonstration. I've had your wonderful scones at your tearoom in Newcastle and these are my favorite. Nancy in Petaluma

  • Thanks Amy for making this video! An Afternoon to Remember is one of my FAVORITE places to go!! Definetely the BEST tea house around! These scones are also one of my favorites, only second to your anniversary scone. I've been making your recipe for these for quite some time and now I share with my friends. Thank you for taking the time to do this! Michelle in Auburn
