Aw bless, thank you Gary! I was commissioned to write this for a play by Jim Henry called The Angels of Lemnos. Kind of a modern day 'Matchstick Girl' sort of play. Well, Chicagoan, Mr. Henry was at all three performances in Missouri and was reported to be pleased with the song, enough to include it in the script - so I'm told. Suppose that was a success. As you can hear, I wrote my sister's name into the song...it's hard to separate one's own personal life from the writing process. =o)
i had to have the lyrics because Mr. Wade Hughes wanted me to memorize them. I was Ellen for Angels of Lemnos. I also loved the the Allelujah version that you made, it would make me tear everytime I would hear it during the play.
Seriously staggered by your voice Michele, amazing...and it fits this song well. To me this just shows the 'power' of a LONE acoustic guitar with the right song and the right voice. (Aye, the relation to Spencer the Rover is there to be heard -in places- by those who would know- but not in an 'obvious' fashion -and def' stands on its own.)
So- it's just between you and Sade then for best female vocalist...?!!
perfect in every sense relly enjoyed this very sweet song

@Pianoloverok
Your very sweet, George.
It would be much better if you'd have played piano and I left my guitar at home.
