no, not enough. a mabuchi or johnson motor is just good(the RS 540 Sport Tuned 23T motor and the Tamiya Super Stock TZ/RZ 23t are perfect to drifting), but you need minimum a 1600 mAh accupack and a 55/25 transmission.

2" PVC pipes is the answer.. using nitro in drifting can burn your clutch, electric is much better, more important is 4WD with a high torqe motors,, sport tuned or super touring will do...

You're just pissed because your radio shack car can't do this. LOL. I'm joking yes, he's using what appears to be a Tamiya TT01 maybe a yokomo. Basically you takes the tires off any 4WD RC car and hot use a hot glue gun to slap on PVC piping in their place. Easy fun, but does take some time to learn.

Um that's the point tard. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast in a drift at least. you want minimal traction while still being able to control the car through the turn. Hence why electrics look better drifting than nitros. They're slower, easier to control and just more fun. + less tuning involved.

you don't need drift tire for drifting really.All you need is a 15T Motor (Brushed or Brushless), some Normal road tire and a rear wheel drive and it's fun time

heres two challenges that ive done from other responses on other rc drift videos. no1. hold a figure 8 for the whole battery without stuffing up. no2. hold a drift(dont drive forawrds) around a rc car track or one u make one wich consists of atleast 10 or more corners. sounds hard but i did it and i havnt been drifting for long(3 months). give it a go its awsome fun.

i find that the best drift tires are normal tires with lots of foam underneath them with duck tape around them...go around 2 times and they will last for ages! its faster than pvc and more fun...especially with 4wd...

oy with ur pvc tires did u put anything around em like tape or sumfin or ay just pvc. U got the idea from that youtube vid ay on how to make drift tires. lol i watched it to. U can also just but sellotape around ur tires if u dont wanna hav pvc. Works almost as well but a lil more traction.

the black tires are called "ABS" which are more of a beginners drift tire, since they hook up more.. Im sticking with pvc because you get alot better drifts with pvc..

dont forget the inexpensive drift tires, PVC pipes, just make sure you get the black ones for a more realistic look, unlike this car. Go to ebay, and get an electric car for like 100 bucks, and just add a 20T motor and PVC tires, and your all set.
