You don't have online with Assassin's Creed! This IS a bug. But you have to fall through the floor first (which is also a bug) then you die, and when the game comes on again, this happens.

this happened to me too, i was doing the mission when i saw some archers decided to kill them but they were glitched and then the kill me. when i respawned i saw another altair, i was like, "o....k..? WTF?" but truly hilarious.
