@chystokletov Do your hometask. There was no any Ukraine when Richter was born in 1915. The unity of (the) Ukraine appeared only in the Soviet times. And he says in the beginnig of the movie: Украины тогда не существовало. Это была Россия, Малороссия. Richter didn't have a drop of Ukrainian blood and his mother tongue was Russian. The family of German ancestry was only his father's family.
