Later the replay showed it wasn't a goal. So what do they do? The ref blows the whistle, everyone stops and stands there waiting, they find out it wasn't a goal, how do you restart play? With a drop ball or something?

From where the referee was stood, watch when the video freezes for half a second - here from the referee's angle, it would appear there is contact on the legs of the players, obviously we know there isn't contact. The red card would have been for Denying an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity (the goal keeper can not be SO for handling the ball in his area), which, in the referee's opinion, happened here when the "contact" was made. But, the ref was clearly wrong.
