  • good video

beautiful engine, I have a model of the same scale and I think 00 Hornby train set in the video, I have almost all coaches

    greeting

    gus

  • I HATE CLASS 323s aren't they f**king ugly. YUK!!

  • Nice Vid. It does appear to plod through not thrash?

I too have fond(?) memories of the WCML electrics, when 81's and 85's where common place at Birmingham New St.

I remember travelling from Brum to Glasgow, overnight, behind an 81 with a rake of corridor Mark One's. Those were the days!!!

Will you be at Bescot on the 28th Feb 09 for Sir Nigel?

  • The thrash part was a little bit of a mickey take mate, I suppose. After seeing 37s blast through Bescot, an 87 is definately quiet in comparison but hellfire all the same! And yes I shall be at Bescot for Sir Nigel all being well, thanks for watching mate.

  • Great video. I can't believe I'm saying this but a nice nostalgic look back at how trains used to be. And a reminder of how they should be. Great work. 5*

  • Thanks mate, it was nice. I remember the 86s and 87s running through Bescot and elsewhere in the 80s like that but was too young to have a camera to record them!

  • There were other classes too likethe 82s, 84s and 85s. I used to love seeing trains hauled by the 80s class of locomotives and used to love going down to Euston whenever was going to London. Unfortunately I didn't have a video/camcorder to film them.

  • I remember the 81/82/83/85/86 and 87 classes very well. The 84s had all gone by the time I started. I didnt get many on film either. I remember having 81020 on a Euston bound relief and it failed somewhere beyond Rugby and we were stuck in the middle for ages. I cant remember what happened now it was too many years ago!

  • ya it did

  • 80's Nostalgia

  • Lovely jubbly - great to see! I caught her at Acton Bridge - just a shame 57601 was stuck to the train's ar*e!

  • Yes mate I can imagine that 57601 on the back proved a headache for photographers etc hoping for a 1980s scene! You may know that 87002 just suffered flat batteries I think. Hopefully nothing serious!

  • I believe she was merely overcharged at Polmadie - that would never have happened at Shields Road!

  • 87002 has suffered some fire at polmadie

All passengers advised to get local service to Motherwell

  • I hope that isn't true...

  • A great reminder of what I would've done 10 months ago, if it weren't for the farce that occured that day. Smashing work jammiebeasts, 5*

  • Thanks mate! The all blue formation also reminds me of the hours I spent down there years ago when the sunday diversions were on. Wish I had a camera back then! I hope the tour is succesful.
