there can be no serious talk of sucession without serious talk of currency - would texas then have it's own currency? China instituted a bailout of 4 trillion yuan that greatly helped their economy...So you cannot use those nations represent the issue as a whole. While I can not argue that growth is nice it is important to note that Texas is doing ok economically at the moment and the last thing we need is tainted money that allows the federal government (who is obviously alot worse at managing things) to control our state

Dude, no, texas is not doing ok Rick Perry is a terrible governor. You think we're doing ok maybe because you are financially secure, fine no one blames you for that but you should know that under Rick Perry and just recently we have had home foreclosures hit a RECORD HIGH, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area where I live, thousands of properties facing forced sale next month. We cannot afford to live independently, I'll have to move if it doesn't work, so that's bullshit.

Also, NATO is a Military Alliance not a trade alliance so its not relevant to whatever points you are trying to make.

I do not have to be a economist to know that the federal government does not give money without attaching strings to it, why do you think its being rejected? No state would reject free money.

Actually the Texas economy is the tenth larges in the world larger then most country's. Nato is a militart org and has nothing to do with anything. Texas can be self sufficiant...
