Personally I do enjoy this music, and it makes my boner rip a hole in my pants, but simply saying that this music is death metal isn't simply comparative enough in its more thorough elements, you cannot simply judge music based on its towntuned guitars and brutal vocals.

I am not calling this band shitty, but this isn't death metal. This is actually closer to black metal. Lyrically it shares more in common with death metal, but instrumentally everything (save the drums and lack of keyboard) is dead on how a black metal song is played. In fact, black metal has much in common with old surfer rock like the beach boys, just down tuned and made to sound more brooding, with a quicker tempo.

This isn't death metal. Play this next to bands like Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, or Lamb of God and you'll see a strong difference.

Death Metal has a very deep, growl like vocal, drum beats that are less about bass, and more about cymbals, bass guitar played as in 20's blues, and their guitars are less down tuned.

In this you see raspy, high pitched vocals, bass guitar that simply follows the guitar, heavy usage of bass on drums, and simple guitar chords strummed at a high tempo.
