Both Fats and Mr. Allen sound great here, as well as the whole band...this is a Classic Caught On Tape Masterpeice in history. Or...I could just be high. ;>0~
god bless Fats and Lee Allen....and I'm an athiest.....saw then many times with the Blasters and James Harman........along with William Clarke...the heart and soul of the West Coast blues scene.those were great days.and they live on now for folks to see some wild stuff!
I had the good fortune to see the Blasters with Fats twice live in 1986: at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano and at the Ritz in the East Village, NYC. What I remember about Fats besides his great playing was that he was a Jackie Gleason-style dancing fat man on stage!
Ya know I really never knew how great it was to have Hollywood Fats in the Blasters...till you see these get video here on Youtube! Love Ya also to Lee!
Indeed god bless both of them... This right here is as good as it gets for me... period.
With the most insanely & supremely low down & sick rhythm section any band could ever hope to have... the was a legendary line up... ( which is not to say that this band wasnt damn near as capable a year or so earlier as well !)
thanks for posting this, I have this on video somewhere but can't seem to find it, thought I'd never see it again. I believe this was right before Fats died, some of his last stuff. He is missed greatly, a legend on guitar and a friend.
