what kind of mossy grasses are those that you keep in the sand? We just switched to a sand substrate too and are planning plants-- your help is much appreciated! Beautiful cories too!
@rissatish It was singapore moss on litle lava stones.Sand is highly recommend by me.I Use it all the time and if you wish to have some grassy plants like Vallisneria, small leafs Echinodorus,Eleocharis sp.,lilaeopsiss etc. sand will be perfect. It's not hard to keep it clean, just use snails like melanoides tuberculata and the problem is solved.
What kind of sand did you use? I tried using some crushed coral as substrate, but it destroyed my corys' whisker-thingies (I don't remember what they're called)
Wow they're fast little buggers! If I may I heard Cories are like betta's able to breathe air...Is that true? Also how hard would you say cories are to care for?
@EeveelutionStorm yes they are labrinth breathing fish and so are gourami fish and i have lots of cory catfish to and they are very easy to carew for all u need to remember is to have sand substrate coz gravel can hert them
@AwesomeAssassin1000 Awesome! Thanks I'll keep that in mind. ^_^ I keep betta's with no filters so it's great to know Cories don't need them either. ^^
@EeveelutionStorm great but id recormend u do use a filter for these guys coz they can produce a lot of mess meaning poo and that will make lots of ammonia in ur tank
@AwesomeAssassin1000 google 'aqadvisor' and it will help you with any queries on number of fish you can put in your tank. It even tells you special requirements of the fish you want. Like if a fish needs driftwood or to be kept in groups, or even if a particular fish might me aggressive towards another fish you have selected.
Will also tell you what temperature, ph, water hardness parameters will work best for your fish, as well as water changing info for the fish you select. Good luck!
@hYYYpo Do you think I feed them only with this kind of food??? I have many, many different types of tablets, flakes, crispers, frozen food and live food.If they haven't been fed so well they wouldn't be breed and yes they breed all the time :)
@TheMetroPhotographer If a sand is dirty there is possibility to affect tank parameters, but sand in my aquarium is totally neutral.Important thing is to buy it from trusted sources.
wow, please tell me what kind of wood, moss, plants (especially) you have in this tank. You have the best looking tank ive seen in a long time. Panda Corys happen to be my favorite.
i just love how beautiful white and clean the snad is. and the moss that you put on this little stones. this green looks really good in this sand. thumbs up !
feel free to check out my southeast asia planted tank.
@glamoursue I didn't mean that :) I thought you will get it.Maybe it's my fault,my english isn't so well :) Now....where were I??...a........ I mean Veggie Fish Food :)
@JinGsPage They prefer warm water, optimum 24-27 degrees celsius. So better take care of that in the fastest way and buy a heater :) Interesting detail - in the corys spawning season they like to breed in colder water, about 22 degrees celsius.
@sprayart94 They are totaly harmless and you can keep them with other corydoras sp. and also different kind of fishes. But remember to do not combine corydoras with big or predacious fishes.
Thats what I want to watch a family of corys play all day. My sister calls them freshwater dolphins. What size tank do you have and do they lay eggs all the time with so many in there?
@megasuchy I have two corys and I want sand! I have gravel right now and nothing in my tank as decorations go. How did you plant your tank so well! Is sand is it hard?
@Prekbeek345 This kind of sand isn't hard to maintain in cleanness(melanoides tuberculata or other digging snail species sap in it and keep it clean). At the moment I have a lot of problems with algae's.
That is so cute. Beautiful aquarium. I love cory's. They are my favorite aquarium fish. I have 5 green cory's that i bought las week. I had 2 zebra danios and 8 neon tetras but they didn't survive. My cory's however are doing fine so far. I have a banana plant that is starting to put out leaves and roots. Question: How big will my banana plant get?
i might have to do that... will be over and around europe in the summer, ive been trying to find some quartz sand stateside but most of it looks like it would be really sharp, even the sand and be harmful to corys, did you get yours at a pet store or what?
What a nice video to relieve stress! Hi, I bought some 4 baby panda (about 1.5 Cm long) but 2 died. I tried to feed them with daphnia or frozen bloodworm but they don't seem to enjoy it! What yours feeds on?

and for 10 or so years, I've fed my corys regular tropical flake food. I've never had one die, though I did sell a few generations when I was moving the tank around (and bringing it out of use for a couple years)
Hi thats a realy nice tank, do these fish grow bigger? As I have a 60 litre and am considdering three small catfish, if these grow big what catfish don't?
Hi what type of sand is it your using in there? Also do you have a CO2 system running and use some kind of fertilizer for those plants of not how do you maintain them?
I was going to buy what i thought was a pair of pandas at the weekend... turned out to be 2 corydoras adolfi (which are rare ive heard) i went in and reserved them due to them been in the shops quarentine still and one died :( it did cost me £15 ($28) for the surviving one.
It isn't hard if you have snails, like Melanoides tuberculata. That species live 80% in ground and diging it all time.I'm using external canister filter, polish Aqua-el Unimax 250.You can use any kind of filtration, but remember, inlet canot be close with tiny sand.
