@amberlight27510 1 male 1 female. If you only got 1 female he might kill her. Guppies can get so horny they will actually kill ther tank mates, so I reccomend 2-3 females per male
are those fancy guppies? please respond soon because im going to get 2 guppies either today or tomorrow and I just got to know because those are so pretty and I would love to get that type! :)
I've moved my guppy fry into a 2.5 gallon tank when they were born, but mine are still very small and its been about a month and a half. What am I doing wrong?
Heyy I Had Baby Guppies the other week and there minute like a parasite i feed my guppys first bites from hikari probly about £2 i live in the uk and i let my mollie baby out anout 6weeks old and it hasent been eaten at all :) im so happy : i still have another 2 in the breeder tank the same 6 weeks old i will let them out tomorrow :)
i just got some!! check out my channel i isolated them in a nanotank u can also see my big tank there somewhere, with real plants and stuff and snails
Hey... I kinda Feel Sad Now... Its Been 2 months since i had my last fish tank of guppies.... now i have hamsters... but i really want both... but i cant... i guess i will have to wait till 2 years or 3 years later then i can buy them and start an empire of Guppies! :D
Your guppies are very pretty! I did breeding for 2 years before going to college and losing every single guppy to camalanus worms. This summer, I bought 3 females and I've finally gotten my first drop, I left them in the tank with the adults and at a week old and now to big to be eaten, more then half of them are still alive! Hopefully in a few weeks I'll have some pretty males like yours!
@nikejordan214 I fed them with ordinary flake food ... I just crunched it between the fingers so that the flakes are much smaller so that the fries can eat them. The too big flakes were food for the ground cleaning department of the corydoras ;o)
@BattlefieldDoktor than you very much my female guppy just gave birth 4 days ago and i thought i had to feed the fry something else rather than flakes..:)
@TFWC88 Hi FFWC88, the names of the songs are mentioned in the credits at the end. First song is "Ain't we sweet", second song is "Bonsession". The new URL of Tomi's channel is added in the description. By the time I created the video he was still having another account. AFAIK he is offering the songs with a Creative Common license.
Hi Battlefield Doctor! what is the name of the song you played in this tape please? I'm a radio hostess and would like to feature this track. Great video btw!
@denisesfeathers Guppies can be fun about the breeding ;o) But often I also had no success because the fries need huge plants to be able to hide and survive vor long.
@sayuridp Same as to the adults ... just crushed the flakes between the fingers so that they are much smaller (as small as the rest of a bottle of flake food)
@DotAis4Noobs A friend of mine asked me the same xD ... I did nothing special about the plants. But I think it is because the tank was smaller and so the light was closer to the plants. They grew pretty good in these small tanks but not in other tanks.
@hatstalker I already know about the fish/fishes/fishs thingy, thank you ;o)
No, no CO2 inject. The plants were only in my small tanks growing pretty well. I guess because the tank is not too high so the plants are getting more light to grow. But I have no idea ... used the same plants in another tank and they were getting thinner and thinner and slowly growing.
i had 5 female guppies that had babys after babys must been over 100 and only got 30 or so of them rest were eaten i rasied them untill they where older and they sadly died but ilove the guppies
@guppylover123 Yeah, I was lucky that they were breeding, too. But no further generation because my heater blew up - but fortunately a lot of these got new homes a few weeks earlier.
@BattlefieldDoktor My cousin said when changing the water, you can change the temperature, and you might even trigger the parents into breeding again.
i would catch mine in front of my house,in a little river, but then when i transfer them to my fish tank, they would loose the color and got weak,i wonder why/?
You've removed them from the water quality they were used - different values (even in temperature) can be a problem. I would recommend to also use the water from where you took them and make sure it has the same temperature.
Guppies are great tropical fish with a life span around 2 - 6 years! So, those guppies you gave away must be very pretty. I like the guppies with the big open spread back fin. Especially yellow tailed ones.
Not really expensive since it is a beginner fish and you can get them pretty cheap in the pet shops (at least here). I had a 70 L tank and it cost me approx. 80 Euro with lights and filter pump. The fish is approx. 1-3 Euro depending where you buy it here. But they're mating this much so you can probably have the luck as I had: buying 2 and getting 39 + 15 as second and third generation, lol.
In this tank I had Elodea callitrichoides ... it is growing pretty good and I sometimes I had this much to give some to a friend of mine. But these plants aren't good when having goldfish coz this plant has too short roots (and goldfish love to eat plants ... so they're pulling them out all the time, haha).
Can't belive you had trouble finding homes for them. They are beautiful! It really shows how the longer you wait, the better something becomes. From ugly little fry (no offense) to beautiful fan tails!
Well, first when you are telling "guppies" then it is "oh no" ... but when the people saw them then they even wanted more ... so at the end I was lucky to find a good home for all of them.
dont put your flow to 0. when you go to put them into another tank or sell them to someone they will be weak because they will have NO muscle and wont be able to fight the flow in larger tanks.
Thank you ... currently the flow is down to zero since I had a problem with the heater (it boiled my fishies). But the generation I filmed here has good survived ... 36 out of 39 fries is an awesome result. But I also had my problems to find a new home for so many new guppies, haha
i had one guppy baby i don't know wy only one but i found two more and they died so my one and only guppy baby stayed in a small tank but two months later it was only the size of my little finger nail and im 12 years imagine my little finger nail its so wierd and last night it died could you give some tips for next time
It's always difficult ... I only had the luck twice to find guppy fries before the adults actually ate them.
I think the size is quite ok after 1-2 months. But it also depends about the food. The smaller the flakes the easier they can eat it. And only put as much into the tank they are going to eat in a few minutes. I fed them twice per day.
Why your fries died is very difficult to say ... could be also a genetic defect because of overbreeding with incest. So not always your fault.
Good question, I never leave my fish in the dark so I don't know. But I also noticed about my goldfish that they can become white by itself. One suddenly became white after 1 year and another one seems to do the same after 3 years. No idea for the real reason but I read that goldfish are actually white and the orange color was something like a random mutation. But not sure ... I can be wrong ;o)
Hi Edgar, sorry for my late reply ... It is a half coconut - you can get it at any shop with stuff for reptiles. It is important to drill a few holes into it because ancistrusses love to swim into it. To ensure to don't bring bad germs or such stuff into the tank you better also boil that coconut in hot water before putting into the tank.
thank you very much for your help but that green stuff that looks like a plant or moss grew more like one? or your the sow? As after leaving? tell me please ,well I hope that this time both evenings...
The females are larger and have mostlikely a gray or yellowish body and only the tail fin has color. The males are much more colorful about their bodies and also smaller. The females have a huge belly.
also a male as a pointing thing coming out under it cant say what it really is figure it out rueself female jsut has 2 fins under her and like battlefield said
I fed them good I guess. The flakes were crunched into very very small pieces so it fit their mouth better. Also they didn't need to fight with the adults about the food ... but also I must say that they seem to be bigger in the video than they were coz the magic was also zoom here ;o)
hey i wanna get some of these but i only got room for one tank so will the parents eat all of their babys? and how often do they bread, i dont wanna start some kinda farm of 2 million fish haha
well like the rebel monkey said u can get a breeder net so the parents wont eat them if u have ampal or a lot of places for them to hind in it shouldn't be a problem but yes the parents will cannibalize their young another thing is a filter they will get sucked up in so get a sponge filter so that they wont or be like be get some plecos
hot to tell the difference of a female and male guppy a male guppy has coloring on its back fin dorsal fin and its body a female guppy has color only on its back fin
I fed them with ordinary flake food ... but I crushed it between the fingers so it is small enough for their small mouths. Also don't put too much food into the tank because they're very small.
So schlau!
No, the original pump was too unreliable and this Eheim pump was much more reliable and not sucking as fast as the unreliable one. So better for the fries.
wow those guppies only take a few weeks to get bigger and more colourful! one of my baby guppies has disapeared and they are in a breeding tank so they couldnt have been eaten; does any one know why?
I always had a pump and filter in it ... and it always filtered out some dirt so I guess it also has its necessary reason to stay in the tank. If you don't use a filter/pump then you have to change the water pretty often as it also has no waterflow.
my pregnant fancy guppy gave birth to 43 guppies a couple of months ago, and all of them have there color except one female thats all gray with a black stripe running from her gills to the middle of her tail. anyone know what kind she is? pls respond
I think it were 4-6 weeks but maybe 8 weeks ... I am not remembering it as it was some time ago and I can't get the timestamps of the recording since my firewire connection of my camcorder broke.
@amberlight27510 1 male 1 female. If you only got 1 female he might kill her. Guppies can get so horny they will actually kill ther tank mates, so I reccomend 2-3 females per male

Thank you ... currently the flow is down to zero since I had a problem with the heater (it boiled my fishies). But the generation I filmed here has good survived ... 36 out of 39 fries is an awesome result. But I also had my problems to find a new home for so many new guppies, haha
BattlefieldDoktor 2 years ago
i had one guppy baby i don't know wy only one but i found two more and they died so my one and only guppy baby stayed in a small tank but two months later it was only the size of my little finger nail and im 12 years imagine my little finger nail its so wierd and last night it died could you give some tips for next time
dontmesswithami 2 years ago
It's always difficult ... I only had the luck twice to find guppy fries before the adults actually ate them.
I think the size is quite ok after 1-2 months. But it also depends about the food. The smaller the flakes the easier they can eat it. And only put as much into the tank they are going to eat in a few minutes. I fed them twice per day.
Why your fries died is very difficult to say ... could be also a genetic defect because of overbreeding with incest. So not always your fault.

Heard if you leave a goldfish in the dark for like two weeks it will get white my friend did it it looked possesed
KingOfSims3People 2 years ago
Good question, I never leave my fish in the dark so I don't know. But I also noticed about my goldfish that they can become white by itself. One suddenly became white after 1 year and another one seems to do the same after 3 years. No idea for the real reason but I read that goldfish are actually white and the orange color was something like a random mutation. But not sure ... I can be wrong ;o)

hello this looks like a huge rock core is a coconut? please tell me as processed for putting in the tank. sorry but m english is not very goos. LOL
edgar12073 2 years ago
Hi Edgar, sorry for my late reply ... It is a half coconut - you can get it at any shop with stuff for reptiles. It is important to drill a few holes into it because ancistrusses love to swim into it. To ensure to don't bring bad germs or such stuff into the tank you better also boil that coconut in hot water before putting into the tank.
BattlefieldDoktor 2 years ago
thank you very much for your help but that green stuff that looks like a plant or moss grew more like one? or your the sow? As after leaving? tell me please ,well I hope that this time both evenings...
edgar12073 2 years ago
Not sure if it is moss or a kind of algae ... after some time I had it on both of my coconuts - it is already entirely on it.

hw to tell the diff between male and female mate'?
historian111z 2 years ago
The females are larger and have mostlikely a gray or yellowish body and only the tail fin has color. The males are much more colorful about their bodies and also smaller. The females have a huge belly.
BattlefieldDoktor 2 years ago
also a male as a pointing thing coming out under it cant say what it really is figure it out rueself female jsut has 2 fins under her and like battlefield said

how do they grow so fast in my tank it takes a half jear before they are 1,5 cm
Brrenndaaa 2 years ago
I fed them good I guess. The flakes were crunched into very very small pieces so it fit their mouth better. Also they didn't need to fight with the adults about the food ... but also I must say that they seem to be bigger in the video than they were coz the magic was also zoom here ;o)

hey i wanna get some of these but i only got room for one tank so will the parents eat all of their babys? and how often do they bread, i dont wanna start some kinda farm of 2 million fish haha
wwagnar 2 years ago
they breed often and you can put a net like thing to separate the adults from babies
TheRebelMonkey 2 years ago
well like the rebel monkey said u can get a breeder net so the parents wont eat them if u have ampal or a lot of places for them to hind in it shouldn't be a problem but yes the parents will cannibalize their young another thing is a filter they will get sucked up in so get a sponge filter so that they wont or be like be get some plecos

i baby guppies and what should i feed them?
ak74u2 2 years ago
I fed them with ordinary flake food ... but I crushed it between the fingers so it is small enough for their small mouths. Also don't put too much food into the tank because they're very small.

Hoffentlich passiert mir nicht so was.

Coolesgirli123 2 years ago
BattlefieldDoktor 2 years ago
So schlau!

Coolesgirli123 2 years ago
BattlefieldDoktor 2 years ago
Coolesgirli123 2 years ago
BattlefieldDoktor 2 years ago
Coolesgirli123 2 years ago
BattlefieldDoktor 2 years ago
Coolesgirli123 2 years ago
BattlefieldDoktor 2 years ago
I have three Guppy Babys too, but today two Babys are dead. It lives one fisch. I am very sad. Why are two Baby fish dead?
Answer me please!
Coolesgirli123 2 years ago

was the pump at all times?
worldiscus 2 years ago
No, the original pump was too unreliable and this Eheim pump was much more reliable and not sucking as fast as the unreliable one. So better for the fries.

wow those guppies only take a few weeks to get bigger and more colourful! one of my baby guppies has disapeared and they are in a breeding tank so they couldnt have been eaten; does any one know why?
chris90282 2 years ago
i've a question: do you really nead a pump + filter for a 20l tank, or is a heatings element enoufg?
DJ0KNUF 2 years ago
I always had a pump and filter in it ... and it always filtered out some dirt so I guess it also has its necessary reason to stay in the tank. If you don't use a filter/pump then you have to change the water pretty often as it also has no waterflow.
BattlefieldDoktor 2 years ago
Cool nice tank!, How much liter goes in it?
DJ0KNUF 2 years ago
Thank you ... that one was my old quarantine tank - up to 27 liters.
